The cruise vessel with the largest passenger capacity this season was unable to visit Stanley yesterday as had been planned because of the adverse weather conditions.

The Norwegian Dream has the capacity to carry up to 1748 people on board and this is her first season in the Falklands. Her agents, Sullivan Shipping today confirmed that her next visit on 12 January is still set to go ahead.

A cruise vessel, which did make it into port today, was the Marco Polo carrying up to 450 people. One of the passengers on board was Councillor Trevor Bagshaw, former Lord Mayor of Sheffield. Trevor, who was accompanied on the cruise by his wife, laid a wreath at the 1982 Liberation Monument this morning in commemoration of those who lost their lives on the HMS Sheffield in the 1982 Falklands war.
