Shackleton Fund donation from South Georgia Climb.

The Shackleton Scholarship Fund which benefits the Falkland Islands has received a donation of more than a thousand pounds from the six- member team of British adventurers who earlier this year re-traced the climb across South Georgia's formidable mountains made by Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton from King Haakon Bay to Stromness in 1916.

Falklands Air Planning Commander Killed in Plane Crash

The Air Marshal who planned the role of the Royal Air Force in the recovery of the Falkland Islands and earlier pioneered the introduction of the Harrier jump-jet which played a vital role in the 1982 Conflict, has been killed in an air crash.
