An Argentine Army officer, First Lieutenant Caesar Fragni, has been awarded his “wings” by the British Parachute Regiment, one of the elite British units which defeated the Argentine forces in the Falkland Islands in 1982. He is believed to be the first Argentine to earn British parachute wings.

Lieutenant Fragni, aged 35, was awarded the honour after completing four jumps with the British para recruits at their training school at Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.

He was on a month-long exchange visit.

A Parachute Regiment officer, Captain Kevin Robison, will travel to Argentina for the exchange visit with Lieutenant Fragni when he returns home to Argentina this week.
