Gibraltar's Government House announced Monday that Princess Anne will be carrying out her first official visit to Gibraltar in the coming spring in coincidence with the 300th anniversary of British Gibraltar.

Governor Sir Francis Richards said: "I am delighted that The Princess Royal is to visit Gibraltar during the year in which we shall all be celebrating the Tercentenary of the British presence here. I know that everyone will look forward, as I am, to giving her a very warm welcome."

The Gibraltar Government said that it warmly welcomes the visit and that it is working with Governor to arrange an appropriate program of events.

"We are extremely happy that the Royal Family, for whom there is an enormous store of affection in Gibraltar, will join us in celebrating our 300 year sovereignty links with Britain in this very direct way," said Chief Minister Peter Caruana.
