Five Falklands' business people visited the Shetland Islands last week, investigating the potential of aquaculture.

Director of Fisheries, Dr John Barton and General Manager of the Falkland Islands Development Corporation, Mr Julian Morris, are travelling with fishing industry representatives Mr Hamish Wylie, Mr Simon Hardcastle and Mr Stuart Wallace.

Two weeks ago, the Falklands were represented at the Brussels Seafood Expo; last week the five examined seafood processing plants and fish farms in Shetland and will carry out similar work in Ireland this week.

At the end of the week, the group will break up and attend various meetings and functions including industry shows Aquaculture 2004 and Fishing 2004 in Glasgow. (PN)
