A fire broke out Thursday morning in the Falklands registered longliner “Pioneer” currently docked in Montevideo.

According to the Montevideo Fire Brigade release an oil spill from a generator in the vessel's engine room was the origin of the fire that was put out faster than expected. The concentration of smoke and fumes led firefighters to believe the fire was far serious.

A whole unit of the Montevideo Fire Brigade was involved in the accident.
