Kirchner to attend General Assembly of the United Nations.

Kirchner is leaving today to New York city where he is scheduled to speak before the United Nations Assembly and the Council of the Americas.

He will also meet several government leaders there.

Kirchner, who will travel with his wife, First Lady and Senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Foreign Minister Rafael Bielsa and a group of lawmakers, is scheduled to meet his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Santana Lopes.

Lower House's Peronist caucus head José María Díaz Bancalari, Senate Peronist caucus head Miguel Angel Pichetto and Radical lawmakers Mario Losada and Horacio Parnasetti are some of the members of the parliamentary group travelling to the United States.

Kirchner is also expected to pay homage to Argentine citizens murdered in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York.
