“Katrina” will cost 1% growth to the US economy

Damage caused by hurricane Katrina could cost the United States a half to one full percentage point of economic growth in the second half of the year according to data from the Congressional Budget Office, CBO.

Brazil expects to launch first astronaut April 2006

Brazil will be giving a significant step towards joining the select group of countries that have orbited astronauts. The Brazilian candidate is Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Pontes who expects to travel to the International Space Station April 2006.
