Sir Nicholas re-elected chairman of UK/FI Group
Sir Nicholas Winterton, MP for Macclesfield has been re-elected unanimously and unopposed as chairman of the United Kingdom-Falkland Islands All-Party Parliamentary Group.
The organization is made up of members from all parties in both Houses interested in maintaining the security and economic prosperity of the Islands.
"I am proud and delighted to have been re-elected. This group plays a particularly important and active role in fostering stronger links between the UK and the Falkland Islands and their loyal inhabitants", said Sir Nicholas.
"We enjoy our discussions with members of the Falkland Islands Council on matters such as further developing the Islands' economic prosperity and environmental protection".
