Paraguayan Senate “freezes” Venezuela’s Mercosur incorporation

The Paraguayan Senate is also turning its back on Venezuela’s president Hugo Chavez Mercosur incorporation request. A leading Senator from the ruling coalition said that under current circumstances, and Chavez latest statements makes it “virtually impossible” to decide on the issue. Read full article

    an ex soldier as president has never been a good precedent. Chavez seems to believe he runs an army in stead of a democratic nation. Some will support him, mainly the nearly illiterate, but let's not forget that Rome was also once saved by its cackling geese,

    I am glad that many south-american countries are opposed to incorporate Venezuela into the Mercosur membership.
    Of course, we do not want war in south-america. But Chavez insist on it.
    Just an analysis. If a war sparks between Colombia and Venezuela, just by looking to the military size and ongoing war experience, tell us the Venezuela will lose the war. So, please Mr. Chavez, do not brag about it.
