Cristina Kirchner’s government has become an “embarrassment” for Argentina

Former Argentine president Eduardo Duhalde (2002/03) accused the government of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner of being an “embarrassment” for Argentina and called for a drastic change of policies from “confrontation to one of understandings”.

Duhalde called for an end to the policies of confrontation

At the launching of the internal group from the Justicialista Party, the Juan Peron Movement, with which he hopes to run for president in 2011, he also demanded an agreement for “the construction of State policies”, in the same way that Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile have done in the last few decades.

“I want to speak little of this Government that embarrasses us, because it's not worth it” highlighted Duhalde, who in 2003 acted as a sort of political mentor for Néstor Kirchner, husband and predecessor of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the presidency.

In this way, the leader said that the current Executive branch has driven the country “to the oldest of policies, which is to fight with everyone.”

He defended the new times, saying they impose “policies of agreement, of understanding, of listening to other political parties and not seeing their members as enemies.”

“I want to be loyal to Juan Perón, who asked that we fight for national unity,” said Duhalde, who justly baptized his new political group with the name of the man whom was three times president and founder of the Justicialist Party, an hegemonic force in Argentine politics for the last six decades.

The 2011 presidential bid in Argentina is becoming increasingly crowded: not only has Duhalde stated his intention, but also former president Carlos Menem (1989/1999), most probably former president Nestor Kirchner, Santa Fe Senator Carlos Reutemann, former Buenos Aires province governor Felipe Solá; Vice president Julio Cobos and Buenos Aires City mayor Mauricio Macri.

Duhalde the man that send Argentina to the default of 2001 now want to lecture the government.

Argentina a generous country that even guarantees the right of speech of corrupted people like Duhalde.

Eduardo Duahalde is informally known for having introduced Paco, the most deadly drug into the shanty towns of the province of Buenos Aires during his government period. Also he is accused of covering up the murder of journalist José Luis Cabezas back in the nineties, also because of his implications in the drug dealing bussiness. He has appeared on TV saying that a famous murder in a private country-club was “impassioning”. He is an example of corruption who only saved his image by being appointed president by the congress -he even wasn't elected by the people- for a one and a half year period. This is the kind of people the modern argentinian right wing take as an example of decency.

I see he's hit the nail on the head, a Government of confrontation, rather than understanding.
Have the Jerkners tried to understand the Falklanders, nay! they've just confronted all the time.
A slight embarrasment if you ask me, all this rhetoric and no action? Looks like a president with a mouth but no teeth, how is decree 235 coming along?
The one meant to forbid all shipping the islands? I hear it's been largely ineffective, Cruise ships have ignored it and nobodies complained!
