World Cup top star Forlan will promote Uruguay’s tourism attractions campaign

Uruguay’s world soccer star Diego Forlan will become next November the visible face of the official campaign to promote the country’s tourism attractions.

Diego Forlan was named the best player at the recent Cup in South Africa

“Being the best player of the last World Cup is incredible. But it is also tiresome; fortunately Uruguay also has some of the best places to enjoy, to have fun or to spend with the family. This summer come to discover the best of Uruguay” is one of the spots of the campaign with the current player of Atletico de Madrid as the centre piece.

Signed directly between the player and the Uruguayan Ministry of Tourism, and no mediation of the country’s Football Association, the contract expires at the end of the coming southern hemisphere vacations season.

Golden Ball at the last World Cup in South Africa where Uruguay managed a place among the best four national teams in the world and which buried four decades of frustrations, Forlan has become a reference for the children of Uruguay and one of the most revered sports idols of the country.

The publicity spot in which Uruguay’s tourism attractions are promoted, together with images of the different matches the national team played in the recent South African Cup, will be seen all over Latinamerica with the exception of Brazil.

Discovery Channel, Fox, History Channel, Fashion TV, Space, Nat Geo, Warner, TNT, ESPN and CNN are the cable channels that have been chosen by Uruguayan ministry officials to promote the campaign in the region.

Only the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the recent FIFA World Cup. But alas, I can understand your disappointment that it wasn't one of the Queen's subjects winning that award.

Let's watch CRICKET instead! (/sarcasm)
