Another turn of the screw for Malvinas........

Are we reading the same article Think?

Last Friday the US Department of State during a press conference supported the Foreign Office comment that the “missile firing was routine, and has been for the last 28 years (since the end of the Falklands/Malvinas war)”,

However, Brazil is believed to have its second thoughts about signing such a binding document since the Brazilian diplomacy is ‘more flexible’
and always likes to have room for the extra edge. Furthermore it is already engaged in a defence-related cooperation agreement with the United Kingdom which was signed last month.

Our priority is good relations with Argentina”, admitted President Jose Mujica in a personal apology to the UK ambassador in Montevideo

The English have no reason at all to be worried about Argentina xbarilox, we Falkland Islanders however do worry about them, last time I saw Argies in the Falklands I was a young child....and they were pointing a gun at me.

So Brazil are happy to continue to give verbal support but unwilling to go a stage further a sign a document. They are also happy to accommodate ships connected to the oil exploration and were happy to meet and great the OG on her journey south.

Brazil a clever country that know Argentina is happy to be placated with words whil giving actual tangible support to the Islands in their economic activities.

It is very unfortunate that certain political forces in both the UK and Argentina fail to recognize and understand the unique mutually beneficial opportunity that is presented to them in equitably resolving the Falklands' matter.

Regardless of who did or said what 200+ years ago, or even 30 years ago, there is more than ample real estate and ocean to provide for the benefit of both nations and especially for those who call the Falklands 'home'.

The Islands' unique division into two substantially equal, if not nearly identical land principal masses make this a potential perfect dowry for a marriage made in BA and London.

As I have previously suggested, a demilitarized condominium is likely to be the very best permanent solution for this small dilema; one that would be a win-win-win (UK-Arg-FI) solution, with appropriate regulation of settlement, this seems like the basis for a wonderful relationship that might endure for many centuries that would effectively 'marry' the UK, Argentina and the Falkland Islanders in a perpetual commonwealth, whenin the costs and benefits of the condominum space can be shared and thus act as a springboard for the highly desirable union in that locality of the UK and Argentina ... two countries with what I take to be a natural affinity for each other, regardless of recent history ... provided the naysayers and other tunnel-visioners can be kept out of the way.

I know its against your nature but please stick to the facts, not your deluded fantasies & penchant to make reckless unfounded allegations.

However, it appears you are not alone and that you share the same deluded fantasies & penchant to make reckless unfounded allegations as Timerman & the other revisionist propagandists in the Argentine State, who continues widespread systematic attacks directed against the civilian population of the Falklands & South Georgia, Sandwich Islands & British Antartica based on their political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural identity in flagrant breach of UN resolutions 1514(XV), 2065(XX) & Article 73.

If Argentina has a claim it should take it to the ICJ, of not it should cease it's unprovoked& unwarranted intimidation & persecution of these peaceful Islanders & accept the implement resoution 1514(XV) fully.

    LOL ;-D

“1514 and shame on Argentina” :-) I like it ! Great slogan!

But seriously, Argentina does have obligations to Falklanders under 1514(XV) and 2065(XX), but cynically exploits its odd interpretation of territorial integrity to persecute the Falklanders and abrogate Argentina's responsibility to them.

I understand Argentina chooses to push all arguments for its claim, however tenuous, but it should not avoid it's duties to the Falklanders under 1514(XV) as confirmed by 2065(XX).

It is unreasonable to blackmail the Falklanders into annexation when their express wish is to remain free and then to complain after exercising their right to self-determination the Falklanders democratically chose to decline Argentine's demand for their annexation based on the flawed political propaganda and indoctrination of the past Argentine totalitarian regimes, as so well documented by Escude and other eminent academics.

Your comment istTypical of the contempt Argentina has for the implementation of UN resolutions and its hypocrisy calling for enforcement of terms they favour but the exclusion of terms in favour of the Falklanders.

Today's Argentine position today on the Falklanders is unchanged from that of the last junta and all the more disgraceful as they claim to cherish democratic values, except when they chose to discriminate against a different ethnic group simply because they will not be bullied or intimidated into Argentine subjugation.

Shame on you and shame on Argentina!

But don't you think, Think, recognition by Argentina of the Falklanders as human beings with human rights and the right to democratically express their free will is a necessary step forward for resolution of the dispute and open the way for sincere dialogue rather than veiled threats?

I find it odd that Argentines desire and demand freedom for themselves but would deny that right and its principles to anyone else.

If Argentina declared it would respect the Falklanders rights, reconciliation and progress for all sides would be possible in the long term.

Friendship and cooperation is far more progressive than discriminatory alienation, confrontation and conflict.

In a modern world, it should be possible to embrace and achieve the former and steer clear of the latter.

Sad that the current impasse, argument and escalation are favoured rather than détente, cooperation and growing friendship.

It is clear that these people are incapable of achieving anything and are an embarrassment for the average Argentine. Weak, delusional and talentless. Looks like the poit calling the Kettle black. Argentina has some cheek to tell Britain they are in violation of the international maritime law of the sea. So what do they call they're little piece of nasty work when they imposed a Falklands shipping blockade in international waters.

It is sad that Argentina has to be the greedy dictator because she could have done so very much better has she accepted that we are who we are and have been so for almost as long as they have . The one thing we can be proud of over Argentina is that we Islanders never murdered it's indidgenous people like they did.
They have some of the finest Country in the world but saddly don't seem to know how to properly use it. Remember this Argentina. The Oil that could be arround or indeed under these shores is not a sound reason to justify your claim to these Islands. It makes you look ever more the bullies you obviously are.

I have noticed a little pattern emerging...

Argentina publically states something against the Falkland Islands and Britain. Argentine MeroPress commentators (Think, Alejandro et al) all pretty much say that “this is the beginning of the end of Britain's grasp over Las Malvinas” or one “large step in Argentina's regaining the Malvinas”. But nothing happens. The Falklands continue to use their right to self-determination, and I continue to be British. For the last 14 months I have been reading Mercopress articles and their subsequent comments, every single Argentine poster claims that it is the end of Britain's reign over the South Atlantic! But it never is. Everything just continues as it was. Think, the reality is that the screw isnt turning. Alejandro, the reality is that Britain is not feeling lonely. Argentina are the ones so desperate to gain support and is blackmailing all its neighbors into supporting their claim. Britain knows it has support, and knows if it doesnt, it can continue alone. Argentina knows it needs to force eveyone into some kind of alliance because they know they are weak and that their claim is weak.

Think believes the laughably named 'Denial of supplies/services' is working. But he doesnt live here, and he assumes it is working. Think, you can carry on to believe whatever you want to and continue to live in your delusion. But the Islanders know it isnt working, and it only harms Argentina'a international image.

What have you achieved? So far all you have acheived is alienate the younger generation here into a total hatred of Argentina and all Argentines and anything Argentinian! That younger generation was NOT of that view before the lady and her husband - they were the generation that could perhaps have thought a bit more open minded in future - well done, you Govt has slammed the door on any future rapprochment - firmly shut for another generation! Pucara strange name for a Spanish speaker
The Pucara (“hilltop fortress” - a type of stone fortress built by early South American Indians

    Captured aircraft
After the Argentine surrender eleven Pucarás (four of them in flying condition) were captured by British forces. Six were taken back to the United Kingdom, as follows:

    A-515 (ZD485) – Royal Air Force Museum Cosford.[9]
A-517 – Privately owned. Possibly shipped to the Channel Islands.[10]
A-522 (8768M) – North East Aircraft Museum (on loan from the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton).[11]
A-528 (8769M) – Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum (on loan from Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop).[12]
A-533 (ZD486) – Boscombe Down Aviation Collection (Cockpit Section only).[13]
    A-549 (ZD487) – Imperial War Museum Duxford.[14]

The biggest pirates are the Argentines why they murdered an indigenous people who were the rightfull owners of that former land. That part of their History will always come back to haunt them.
Wouln't it be nice if these modern Argentines actually started admitting that their whole cultural history is steeped in violance and dictatorships.
Bet no one has looked after their country and people as well as the Falkland Islanders have inspite of bieng constantly harrassed by their closest neighbours. It might also be in the Argentines interest to actually start talking directly with us instead of using third parties to do their dirty work. Truth is we are rather more inteligent than them so is probably the reason they steer clear of us. Why just ask the countless hundreds of thousands of visiting tourists from all corners of the earth who come to our little country to get away from the madness of other nations who appear unable to live in any kind of harmony. Oh yes and whatever you perceive to be 'evident' Think, I am a Falkland Islander, I know just how much trouble the Falklands was in pre 82, but here it is Think....now it's not, the place has developed quite nicely.

In your last many posts you have called me...: nazi, racist, stupid, ignorant and even made fun of my rudimentary mastering of the English language…
But,……Worst of all you mocked my sense of humor :-(
Are their no limits for your wickedness? :-)
As I have said many times before … It is that “quite nice development” you mention Argentina is targeting.

“Are their no limits for your wickedness?”

Not as far as my treatment of you and your fellow Malvinists goes Think, I save up my wickedness just for you.

    Honor… Honour…. Doesn’t matter how you spell it… …..
Not much of “that stuff” available in the Anglo World these days………….

    Just thinking…. ............

You Islanders keep rubbing our noses (and quite rightly so) in our dictatorial past and our Dirty War.

About how afraid you are of those monstrous Argentinean that can crap in a Post Office………

Yet, at the same time, the Malvinas is the training base for those “Wikileak Heroes” that went to Iraq and go to Afghanistan …..

    And you call us brainwashed???

So Think. you appear to accuse our people of exploiting the Argentines interest. Well what have you to say about exploiting the indigenous peoples of your Country. Anyway even if we decided to give you the fish and the oil you would still not be satisfied. Oh and you have also mentioned the places in which we aparantly came from well how about your lot. The Welsh, Scots, Germans, Brits and so on all played a very big part in making Argentina what it is today. You cannot say the Argentines did it because it was done by many nationals.

Absslutly no different in the way we have built our own civilization. The only differance is we done it in a peacful way which as I have already stated did not happen with your lot.

I asked your presidant this question but she did not reply. What would you do with the Islands if we handed them to you. Your lot in 82 could not handle the cold wind. What would you do about it.

“Yet, at the same time, the Malvinas is the training base for those “Wikileak Heroes” that went to Iraq and go to Afghanistan …..”

Great training! Do not forget that this atrocities were commited a short time ago and under a democratic government.

“But the search for truth must begin at home. Ten days from now, the high court in London will hear evidence of torture and unlawful killing of Iraqi civilians at the hands of British forces. The thousands of allegations presented by our clients point to systemic problems at the heart of the UK military system that necessitate a single judicial inquiry into British detention policy in Iraq. Extreme physical violence, hooding, the use of stress positions, and sleep deprivation were apparently standard operating procedure. Of particular concern are the many allegations of sexual abuse, even male rape”

It does not surprise me that Argentina’s President didn’t bother to answer your question if it was formulated it in the same manner as here……

I read your whole text twice trying to find something to answer but…………….. you seem to have all the answers already….
