Brazilian president-elect Dilma Rousseff has confirmed President Lula da Silva’s international affairs special advisor Marco Aurelio García in his post, another clear signal that the incoming administration wants to continue with the “good neighbour” policy towards Latinamerica and such organizations as Mercosur and Unasur.     In this scenario selfdetermination is not the issue; the issue is UK presence, selfdetermination in south america means decolonization. UK is the alien body in the region; and the region understand that.

    You are kidding yourself Billious .... as I've told you before, we will not go away. Even if the islanders choose independence, then we remain in South Georgia and the South Sandwich islands. Nothing Argentina can do about it :-)
