Brazil tightens land acquisition by foreigners: ‘speculators and sovereign funds’

The Brazilian government is tightening a law that restricts the amount of land foreigners can buy. The decree prohibits non-Brazilians from buying controlling shares of companies that own vast tracts of territory in the country, Brazilian Attorney General Luiz Inacio Adams said in a statement this week.     Protect the nation's birthright and plan for food to be available for Brasilians to buy for all the years to come.

    Food export should not be at the expense of a country's own people and
    the more land a nation sells to other countries for food export the sooner starvation comes to its own people.
