EU leaders are grappling with a new Euro zone threat after Portugal's parliament rejected an austerity budget and PM Jose Socrates resigned. The vote means an international bail-out, similar to those accepted by Greece and the Irish Republic last year, is now far more likely. Read full article

And how much more money is this going to cost us, what was the Fxcking point of staying out of the Euro, then every time a country fxcks up we again end up paying billions. The government just cant say no to the Euro overlords, they, say the euros coin will collaps, the sooner we get out of this corrupt roundabout the better for the UK,

Portugal now, Next stop Spain, that will feel the pain. UK is the same, though some clowns here will deny that. I allow them to stick to that illusion. Everybody in Europe should watch this careful, the thieves (IMF, EU) are getting stronger in our so called safe first world.

I do agree with clown briton,
The sooner the EU collapse, the better, though there are plenty of idiots who will support that crap with every tooth and nail.

It occurs to me, that the EU doesn't actually have any other choice but to make a trade deal with Mercosur, it may just be the only market offering a price they can afford. Otherwise they would have never considered the trade deal in the first place.

It was Alistair Darling that commited the UK to these bail outs up until 2013 - and he did that after Labour lost the election but before the coalition was formed. It was his effort at a poisoned chalice.

The only upside is that the Germans are so desperate for the Euro to succeed that we'll eventually get our money back - (with interest) in the long term.

While I always opposed the Euro I was never particularly against the EU in itself - but I am being drawn towards the benefits of complete withdrawl.

I am glad that you're being drawn towards the benefit of complete withdrawal. While you're being drawn, feel free to tell us what benefits Britain has from membership. When you've considered that, and found that there aren't any, I have no doubt you'll be signing up to one of the campaigns for a referendum. After all, 87% of the British people are unlikely to be wrong.

As a sweetener, allow me to point out that if we get out of the EU, we won't have to put up with any of this Mercosur rubbish. Don't forget that they want to export beef. And their animals are just chock-full of drugs etc. not allowed in Britain.

    I say
their is nothing, but nothing, the EU can give us, that our own government cant,
and if our own government cant or wont give to us,
then something is very badly wrong with the government.///
last year all in,, the British government gave to the EU in one way or another nearly 15 billion pounds, including membership.
this is our money, pull out, and this money should come back and go to the British people, if we pulled out this year, then by 2020, we would save approximately 145 billion pounds over nine years,
what does the government say we owed, ?? think what we could do with 145 billion pounds, a better military perhaps, NHS-railways-roads-busses-free prescriptions- ad the rest, ??????out of Europe
    Just my opinion .

    Briton, you're such a clown..

There is nothing the EU can give you that your government can't? Your country is what... 10 by 15 meters across? Don't be ridiculous.
