I think briton was merely referring to brazils alleged support of the argentina over the falklands in disregards to the islanders human right to self determination. I do not think he ment it offesively towards brazil.

Though i would love to know how the brazilian government will empahsize on human rights, whilst at the same time supporting argentina in opposition of the islanders human rights.

@ 3 “islanders human right to self determination”????? Islanders don't have human right to self determination because they belong to Britain and are British themselves. If they were not transplanted people from the UK maybe, but this is not the case of the islanders. Changing the rules between the UK, the USA and other bloody governments in favour of your own business doesn't mean you have a right over our islands Las Islas Malvinas.

    British islands, old boy British,,
and as for human rights and self determination , you do not have to be British to qualify, Argentina has the same rights and self determination
as all humans should have, the only time you may not have nothing , is if you live under a dictatorship,
Or under threat by your neighbours who would remove them from you .

Garcia added that, when the history of Lula da Silva’s diplomacy is written, its foundations and principles are
“good relations with . . . the United States”.
“We had our differences (sic) over Iran, Honduras, Cuba, trade and the US bases in Colombia. . . .”

Hell, if the reality of this litany of personal dislike and international disengagement from all things American (USA) is a measure of Brasil’s ‘Good Relations’ with the USA, I would hate to see Brasil’s disposition if it ever tried ‘Bad Relations’!

    “Islanders don't have human right”

All humans have all human rights.

Presidenta Rousseff wants Rights (human rights), but with
    rights comes RESPONSIBILITIES.

In the behavioural process of 'growing up', responsibility is usually one of the later-learned lessons, and so it is with states.
Much of Brasil's behaviour in recent years has been distinctly adolescent.

    Dilma is asking Brasil to be adult wrt rights;
she should also be asking for the the Country, its Government and administrations to be adult with respect to Responsibilities.

If she wishes to be courted by wealth she must be mature enough
    to wear it .
