Argentina’s hurdles to imports don’t help European Union /Mercosur trade negotiations and generate “uncertainty” warned the EU head of delegation in Argentina Alfonso Diez Torres. He also criticized the “one to one” Argentine policy that forces the local assembly plants to match every import-dollar with export dollars. Read full article

tariff are good, all country have them, my bag gets checked at the airport in Canada and I pay taxes for each item I buy if I go over the minimum quota, I don't see how this is any different, If I have to pay them tariffs or taxes I think it's only fair the capitalists also pay it, besides how else are they going to afford a border patrol and the kind of infrastructure needed to regulate items like the cocain USA and EU consumes. the market takes good care of people's demand and the prices goes very well when there is enough resources, but we are living in a time where resources become an argument for war, occupation, violence, injustice and outright slavery, theft and dependence, politicians must remember to protect this resources to save themselves from persecution, as Chritina pointed out this resources are the jobs we send to other nation to buy back as finish products, we must not allow this theft to continue, even the farmer in the EU know how bad of an idea the EU/Mercosur trade is, last time we had good realtionship with the EU they moved in Malvinas Argentina and they are still there, what are they going to do sell us back Argentina's oil ?? go home we don't need the EU, we risk lossing even more sitting with them pirats, America should be free of corrupt thieves, pirats and racist murderers, I thought EU was busy murdering Muslims, EU go home Latinamerica does not help or shelter terrorits. trade ?? what a joke! demands ? LOL ! I don't even know where this people get the nerves, Dracula would of had a feast with each one of them clown, too bad there is no politicians like Dracula anymore.

Pirate-Hunter wannabe, the last time I checked the Falklands were a British territory long before the EU came to exist. If Argentina wants to purchase Falkland Island oil then that is fine. Your money is as good as the next mans, I do not discriminate.

Looking forward to doing business with you once it starts to flow in the next 3-5 yrs.

    Argentina 's fundemental problem has been that ;

1 ) the Rural Section is excessive economically potent but
no has Voting Power in the Country System !

2 ) the Urban Section is excessive politically potent but
no has Economic Power in the Country System !

    (1) X (2) to cause the Caos !

@5 You're funny. But then the brain-dead often are. Now here's some information for you. But before I give it, you need a little treatment. Find a brick wall. I know your tin shack won't have one. Bang your head against it, hard, 12 times. Now here's the information.

There is no such place as Islas Malvinas Argentina. It is an artificial construct of deranged politicians. Yours.

There are no British illegal aliens. There are quite legal British citizens occupying their home territory as they have done for the last nine generations.

The only things that may, at some stage, return to the UK are certain British armed forces and their equipment. Whether it all goes back to the UK at any stage is rather up to the deranged population of a nearby country. The forces and their equipment are only there to persuade that same deranged country not to make any more attempts at theft. Everything else is already home.

The concept of becoming an Argentine in a next life is truly horrifying. Can there be anything worse than being born with dementia?

And finally. Nobody British wants any part of your country. It is, after all, a pretty sad place. Full of queers, gangsters, murderers, drug dealers and, of course, the poor. By contrast, the British Overseas Territories of the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands have none of these things. They also have proper governments, instead of the lying, cheating, thieving crooks that Argentina prefers.

But you are right on one thing. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

I would really like the EU and Mercosur to derive mutual and increasing benefit from trade.

Brasil, along with its partners Paraguay and Uruguay, suffer from the chain that Argentina puts around them.

There is a certain need for Argentina's Mercosur partners to work with leaderships in Argentina that allow all four partners to work as one to the advantage of each.

There may be such leaderships in the future, but there is no future for Mercosur or Unasur until such leaderships arrive.

    Martin #14,
why do you think that, after 20 years of 'development', Mercosur has done so little, achieved even less, never evolved working mechanisms and protocols that allow it to work for ALL constituent countries in negotiations with third party states and trading entities, and allows single members to ride rough-shod over Mercosur general rules and guidelines, negotiating outside Mercosur - or blocking Mercosur - to the detriment of the Trading bloc?

Do you know something about Mercosur that I have failed to see?
If so, please explain so we can all benefit.

    Geoff: You are completely wrong!!
Mercosur is a total success! There are some friction, but the Intra-mercosur trade,is booming, much more than to the relation with other block!
Really,I ama against the trade with the Eu!
We want to sell fish, they put problems, beef, they put barriers,..really I see no advantage trading with them...
SA Does not need EU,is the other way around.....

    # 16 is 100% right! S.A doesn't need the EU. Pirats never crossed the ocean to spread good will. EU should concern themselves with ending the wars in the middle east and the indiscriminate murder of Muslims, rather then lecture S.A on our economic trade affairs, in any case isn't this diplomatic inuendo a form of violation to the rights to selfdetermination of a nation ?? even the 3000 british illegal aliens in Malvinas Argentina are afforded this rights without even being a nation, what's with the bias attitude comming from europids ? I think the EU should be sent home with nothing to show untill they end the illegal occupation of land all over the world..

That's rigth,PH.Is the brits, stab the Argentinians at the back, agains a country that have strong economic, political and cultural tides, like it was in 1833,with a signed agreement of commerce and friendship...you can imagine is these are friends...Argentina never considered the brits an enemy,at least in those times.
    They are not trustworthy people
