Israel's rejection of a return to pre-1967 borders has more to do with its desire to expand its territory, not to whatever is happening right now. Even if the political landscape in the Middle East were as stable and peaceful as ever, Israel would still not renounce its claims over foreign land.

Israel's leader thus today, goes to the mighty states to complain,
it may be she is talking to the wrong guy, perhaps they should sit back and wait, and see if obama gets back in, just a thought .

me voy a hacer gárgaras con grapa, con la más berreta que encuentre, para pasar el kosher que me estoy comiendo.

“It would include “mutually agreed land swaps”, he said. Netanyahu said he “expects to hear a reaffirmation from President Obama of US commitments made to Israel in 2004”, an allusion to a letter by former President George W. Bush suggesting Israel may keep large settlement blocs as part of any peace deal with the Palestinians.” Ted Turner I like Jane Fonda, but I don't like you man.

Actually Obama said the the **starting point for discussion** should be the 1967 border. This is in line with the UN Resolution on the matter and states nothing new.

The linking of negotiations to the demilitarization of 'Palestine' is wishful thinking - with the power wielded by Iran through Hammas, Hizbullah and the other military/para-military regional ruling groups, this request is like singing to the moon for a win on the Lotto.

And to expect the change of ownership of the strategic Golan Heights is singing the same tune., especially as the Iranian hegemony starts to tighten the noose around this tiny-but-powerful nation.

And to give up Jerusalem is singing the same tune (Israel is not a secular nation likely to give up its chief religious city).

And to give up the off-shore oil fields is singing the same tune.

And to had over strategic Galilean water reserves is singing the same tune.

To some large extent these were won in a war *not of Israel's making* (against the massed arab nations), sometime in the last century.
To quote Abba - winner takes all.
To 'quote' Israel - We recognise the *full* text of the unanimously voted UN Resolution (summarised below); start where we are now, not from where we all were in the last century; but start with the termination of agression against Israel by our neighbours, and with the de facto and public recognition that Israel has a right to exist and exist in peace.
