Scientists who have discovered previously unknown underwater volcanoes around the remote South Sandwich Islands in the southern Atlantic Ocean say the research is important to help understand what happens when volcanoes erupt or collapse underwater. Read full article

Note that these islands belong to Argentina and the UK expelled and destroyed by force to the Corvette Uruguay Bases, founded in 1976 in Thule Island in 1982.

Discovered by a Brit, claimed by a Brit, annexed by a Brit. The first in 1775 and the last in 1908. Argentina, the johnny-come-lately once again.

Note, Rolly, that these islands are British ....... totally!!!
