During Thursday’s meetings of the Group of 20 in Cannes, Argentine President Cristina Fernández for G20 leaders to put a stop to the current “anarchistic economic capitalism” and regulate the markets, not the countries, to go back to what she referred to as “real capitalism” after three years of world economic crisis. By “real capitalism” CFK means crony capitalism like Argentina where the Peronists and their cronies steal everything in sight. Just look at the farmers who were fleeced by prohibitive taxes on grains. She runs a mercantilist shop where all the nuances of trade are managed by her and her cronies. This will not end well. A massive devaluation and instant poverty awaits.

Unfortunately Wesley you appear to be blinded by what you believe is Peronism and stealing.real capitalism is stealing.the problem is that the stealers get smaller in numbers and the stole from become greater in number.what you are saying is that cfk is like the others but they exist all over the capitalist world don't they and not just in Argentina.you just don't mind others doing it.you should join the protests and support diversity or as cfk calls it anarchist.

True capitalism is not stealing. It is voluntary exchange. When two people exhange goods or money freely no one is harmed. When the government gets involved you get COERCION and with coercion comes corruption. Whenever you find powerful government you find corruption.

Now she wants Capitalism, all these years fighting (faking it) Capitalism and now she just changed her mind. Like she has been a real anti-capitalist, she's one of the richest woman of the world :), that's how you fight Capitalism, stealing all the money you can then the Capitalists will have no money cos you'll have it all :) it's easy like Algebra :) like the pigs in “Animal Farm”, well she is a pig.

True capitalism is not equal exchange as everyone would be equal wouldn't they.because there is unequal exchange you get 'stealing' and that's why people protect what they've got and always want more but it's impossible to get everything as youd get too many enemies like cfk will unless her bosses allow her to give enough.that's unlikely in the near future.could be the cause of becoming more repressive.

agree with wesley, but if power corrupts this would mean that more powerfull nations are likely to be more corrupt then the poor countryes! that being the case Cristina talking from the point of view of a nation confronting the ruling class must be less corrupt then the international organization. I didn't think you liked Cristina, the problem we have here is that capitalism in any form is corrupt for the same resons stated by you “power”, but a conssious government who fights for the rights of the working class could never possibly threat capitalist since it is them who put the people to work, this is do in many cases to the pribatization of the banking system and money supply as well as the consentration of power in a minority group with ulterior agendas “corruption”. IMF, WTO, UN as well as WHO and human rights watch are some of the organizations used to abuse the masses and resources, Capitalism doesn't work.. you must root out criminals and thieves as well as liars from the rulling class and not many governmants seem to be willing to pass laws to protect the offices they represent, nor do they create police forces that incriminate and prosecutes international piracy and profiteering, it's busyness as usual in the big capitals while mr capitalist gets fater and fater and his only problems are colesterol, and heart deseace as well as diavetes if not the alergyes his extrabagant life style brought him. yet they sit to tell us how bad our government is for not sending him the quota of sugar, “oil”, meat, tea, cocaine, opium, metal for weapons or whatever else mr capitalist wants from your own backyard, it don't matter to mr capitalist that your own children live in that home and that the backyards will be full of toxics, soon they will sell you an insurance to cover the cost of your health problems, if you can afford it, well maybe you won't but mr capitalist will. There is no healthy way to capitalism but regulations by local governments.

Face facts the Kircners in eigth years of government have given Argentina growth only matched by China.

Only in Percentage statistics, that only matters for statistic freaks. And let me remind you again, a nation doesn't grow with HIGH inflation. you can manipulate (kicking the can down the road, till you can't anymore) it what you want, you will get caught eventually. Now, I'm not typing that it will crash, but you will get burned that it will force you to REALLY fix the problem.

How many people live in those countries? of course in “percentage” they will have a better number. for the US to be in the list of “good life or whatever”...my head is also spinning because there is manipulation like how it is happening by many governments in the world to keep their “EGO” high. You can calculate it in many ways and again, only matters for statistic freaks. Close to be the ones you can trust are like Norway, Switzerland..and again..how many people do does nations have?

Back to this article I'm forced to agree with clown wesley mouch. CFK neither has real capitalism in her nation, though she makes a good point. Europe and the US don't practice capitalism, but pure crony capitalism that will collapse anytime, no matter you keep going with the bailout. without the bailouts, it's game over, continue with it and eventually it will become so big and still will fail. The real losers are the people. Now that's sad.

The current high inflation will become even higher which will severely hamper what is left of the credit markets in Argentina. Having traveled to Argentina 3 times and reading these comments I am astounded as to how little understanding of free markets there is in the Latin countries. Maybe that is why you are so poor. Remember it was a dictator that put in free markets in Chile. A good critique of this statist thinking is “A Guide to the Perfect Latin American Idiot”

#8 pirat I am confused as to how you measure corruption,is it by the amount of capital you have accmulated via unequal exchange or by the number of individuals you have exploited in unequal exchange,or some other way. Wesley by free markets you mean capitalist being free to exploit and thereby accumulate more capital don't you,and the case in which you refer to is a prime example.one funded by and planned by an alliance of capitalists who were primarily addressing the threat to their capital and therefore it's rate of accumulation.perhaps this type of action cfk is concerned about.that's no reason for her being elected.so called democratic elections allowing a president to attack the people that elected her in favour of the exploiters begs the question.

Cristina is talking sense. You do need regulation to prevent cartels and exploitation occuring. What we have witnessed is the rampant greed and abuse of power by bankers who control the entire political system.

America, with its tax-payer funded private companies (Lockheed Martin, Johnson & Johnson, etc) has become the embodiment of Mussolini's dreams, a corporatist paradise.
In the UK, too, corporatism has become ingrained; Britain's god-awful, shambolic public transport system is run by private companies, but paid for by the taxpayer. To add insult to injury, if you use a train or bus you are effectively paying for it TWICE.

CFK's Keynesian approach is correct, and while, like all politicians, she is influenced by those who finance her campaigns, she's at least not a stooge of foreign bankers. Obama, Sarko, Merky, they're all errand boys who do the bidding of Blankfein and Dimon.

What we have witnessed suguler is an unequal exchange between capital and labor, and remember capitalism is about capital having it's own requirements to continue to accumulate.we only need for interest rates to be adjusted and cfk will not resist what capital requires.compliance!
