Patriota said Brazil also wouldn't change its stance and would join its neighbour Argentina and other South American nations in turning away ships flying Falkland Island flags.

“Minister Hague knows that Brazil ... supports the sovereignty of Argentina over the Malvinas and we support the United Nations resolution that calls for discussion about the issue with Argentina,” Patriota said.
HAGUE GO HOME AND TELL cameron(regarded by many brits as an IDiot),he better focus on the UNGA resolutions about discussing the handover....

2, yeah, and they are going to block entry to ships flying the Falklands flag which will have zero effect on shipping access to the Falklands.

Here we go again...let´s analyze this visit to Brazil....

    Hague said:

    1) ” ..he and Patriota had “searching and productive discussions”
    2) “..British support for Brazil to have a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council..”
    3) “..Hague's visit to Brazil, the first of a Foreign Secretary in six years...”
    4) “..Hague said the fact that London will host the Olympic Games later this year and Rio de Janeiro in 2016 binds the two nations.”
    5) “..Sport — from the Grand Prix to football — unites us..”
    6) “..Brazilian football players are as well known in the UK as they are here...”
    7) ”..“your country's (talking about Brasil) formidable economic power..”
    8) “..the opportunities for joint working that come with it as both our nations..”
    9) “..UK wishes to forge a closer understanding with Brazil on foreign policy..”
    10) “..we should always be able to discuss them in a spirit of friendship...”

After all that “sucking...” attitude from Mr Hague and all those cumplimnents....

What Brazilian officer (Mr Patriota) say in return ??

“Minister Hague knows that Brazil ... supports the sovereignty of Argentina over the Malvinas and we support the United Nations resolution that calls for discussion about the issue with Argentina”

NOTHING MORE...ZERO, FULL STOP, END OF STORY. PERIOD.

Is not humiliating ?? another slap in Britain face...as well as those given from LatinAmerica, UNASUR, MERCOSUR, CELAC, Caribean Countries, RIO Groups, Arabs Legue.....even your more closer ally USA gave you a big slap last year when Hillary Clinton offer a mediation a support Argentina´s position.

Wise advice: Is time to re-think UK strategy about Malvinas....many believe that now is a good moment for go home with few ponds, tomorrow the conditions will be so different.

LOL a new diplomatic defeat to the list of UK!!!

I am starting to feel shame for UK and the poor islanders that supports its in this forum. many praises, and sucks.. to brazil and do not achieve anything, LOL, Brazil still defending the sovereignty of Argentina over the Malvinas. It is time that the British and the islanders begin taking this issue seriously. If 6 years are not going to Brazil is because they are desperate for support in the region, and not find it.
    Time is running out.

We are indebted to Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and the rest of Latin America, this time the story will be different, the union of the countries are becoming a reality.
You are not going to come to mob us more, do you not understand?

hey Hague GO home! liar, thief!! we dont want you here,
Cameron's brown-noser. is a meanness to what came UK and

Hague went to Brazil for one reason - to try to convince Brazil to abandon its support for Argentina and Hague tried to use British support for Brazil's possible future seat on the Security Council as a bargaining chip and it didn't work.
It is also noticeable that the British Press is not interested either and there is non of the 'Jingoism' we saw in 1982 which is hardly surprising as any future conflict in the South Atlantic will be about protecting the rights of a handful of Oil Executives and their investors to make vast amounts of money.

Dross - Hague went to Brazil for one reason - to talk trade. Britain doesn't actually have the same fixation with the Falklands that Argentina does. Britain looks for markets. Always has. That was what the Empire was all about. Not conquest just for the sake of it.

1806/07 was about markets ... nothing more.

It is the simple truth - Hague attempted a textbook political manouvre by attempting to create a rift between the members of mercosur and their almost unanimous support for Argentina.
Even the British Press can see it and it is the power of the Press that shapes public opinion and in an era of catastrophic economic failure when millions are losing their jobs and being driven into chronic debt, it is only logical to assume that there will be very few people in Britain willing to support the right of an elite group of hedge funds and a handful of islanders to walk away with their pockets full of gold.

So the UK is finished, is it? When is argieland going to “start”? Tell you what. Why don't you send your “navy”(snigger) to sea? And by “sea” I mean more than 12 miles off your coast. We'll send a couple of our boats down. Notice “boats” not “ships”. Let's see how many of yours reach harbour. While we're at it. Have you seen what one of our Typhoons can do to your microlights? I wonder why Brazil has a defence agreement with the UK? Could it be that they plan to shepherd the argie “navy” (snigger) out to where the RN can sink it? All of it!. Let's see, argie navy has 42 ships. That'll be 42 Spearfish torpedoes. Much better than the WW2 vintage Mk 8 mod 4s we used to sink the Belgrano. These should be able to lift one of your rowboats right out of the water.

We hear there's a plan for a “symbolic” invasion by fishing boats around April time. Do you know how many “accidents” there have been with submarines pulling fishing boats under? But don't worry. In your case it will only be “symbolic”. Like the tons of “symbolic” water that will flood into your “symbolic” invasion fleet. Please remember to pick up the “symbolic” corpses and ship them home to be buried in “symbolic” graves. Then, every year, you'll be able to make a “symbolic” pilgrimage to the “symbolic” graves and weep “symbolic” tears. And here's the really good offer. If you dig the “symbolic” graves between 12 and 1,500 miles from your coast, we'll send a “symbolic” warship down to fire some “symbolic” shells and some “symbolic” cruise missiles every year. No particular targets. We'll just “symbolically” spray some munitions around. Perhaps we could “draw” an arc with shells from one piece of coastline to another. Our naval guns fire around 28 shells per minute. One shell every two seconds.

We could send the Typhoons over as well to drop some “symbolic” bombs.

Might be best if you lot “symbolically” stayed home - and cowered (coward) down.
