You can claim all you want pal but nothing will change. If you really wanted the islands then go down that meaningful and peaceful route known as legal challenge.

So, trying to force LAN Chile to cancel air links, harrassing fishing vessels, trying to coerce neighbouring countries into banning Falkland Island ship is not intimidation?

Randazzo should read some of the threats being made to Islanders on this board. Or are the Argentine bloggers off message? They need to be reprogrammed when they get back from their flag burning.

    Right so what are the

a)Blockades designed to sabotage the islander's economy

b)demands that the islanders be subjugated, disenfranchised of their basic human rights and their homes and resources, and ethnically cleansed if they resist

c)the aforementioned demands which seek to punish the islanders for a fraudulent and repeatedly discredited version of history, while continuing to celebrate argentina's infinitely worse crimes of land theft and mass slaughter of minorities to do so.

d)official government propaganda showing the islands cleansed of the islanders

    “Argentina is not intimidating anyone”

well that at least is true. all of the measures above have utterly failed, and as shown in other news the islanders are still making enormous profit from fisheries, tourism, and will soon be making a tidy profit from the oil industry there

argentina has literally done nothing but scream impotently for the rest of the world to pity them, while showing the full extent of their government's and people's stupidity, hypocrisy, delusions and self importance.

still, impotence, delusions, humiliation and failure is something that argentines are very familiar with, so it is no surprise whatsoever

The more argentina harassess the Falklanders the more the Falklanders move Further away from SA!!!
Most of what argentina has done has pretty much had ZERO effect on the Lives of the Islanders as they have Strode forth in Business, Industry, Tourism, Fishing and now Oil & Gas!!
Keep dreaming argentina as that will be as close as You come to the Fantasy of the Mythical malvenass!

    Long Live the Falklands.

Anyone else noticed that in this numpties response to hagues statement he choose to completely ignore the relevant parts that puts argentinas claims out of the window. Such as the fact we first claimed and settled the islands in 1765 and how in the 1840 argentina signed a treaty settling all disputes and how in 1833 we protested the vice admiraties decision to put an garrison on the islands which was ignored and as such resulted in us send a warship down their to removed the garrison which we did peacefully and allowed those that wanted to stay to stay. Or the fact he ignored the fact that argentine did not exist until 1853.

For the first time in 8 years the RG gov't is panicking. This harassment is all about their economy and a distraction.
Their Commerce Secretary was quoted saying the trade balance must be above 12B for everything to keep working, at 10B things will get nasty at 6B everything collapses. Private economists are predicting a high of 7B this year but it all depends on the Soy crop.
No one knows yet what the Soy crop will look like and they won't until eom March. If it's as bad as 2008 everything will collapse after April.
All his words not mine, even though I have been saying the same thing for months.
Another little fly in the ointment is the wage increases Govt wants 18% Unions want 30+%. Let's see who wins. The unions don't care if the economy collapses, they have driven it to collapse about every 10 yrs since 1950. Why not again...

When it comes to Argentina you have to get it that we are dealing with psychopaths.
They routinely advance stupid ideas in an arrogant manner.
They are shameless and stupid and cannot defend themselves.
If war broke out they would be in worse shape than they were 30 years ago when they HAD a military. Now they don't.

Argentine International Relations so far in the 21st century.

They bankrupted their own country creating ripples in the international market felt all the way to Asia. Not making friends there as a result.
They stupidly scapegoated De La Rua and then made asses out of themselves by going through 5 Presidents in 2 weeks! I mean, COME ON! What imbeciles!

Start a trade war with China, filing more complaints (mostly fabricated and erroneous) than any country in the history of trade wars, thereby angering China and disturbing what was until then a reasonably friendly diplomatic relation.

Publicly laugh at EU's economic crisis while gloating over their current economic success, not realizing that the success is not theirs but is the result of foreign investment and that they are in the process of having the country brought from under then without even knowing it. They are in for a big surprise.

Finland, Spain, Germany, the US and UK file complaints about the inability to conduct business in Argentina because of Argentine corruption. Not one official from the Argentine government came forward to deny this. But one brave soul from their pack came forward to admit it and, for his troubles, was promptly fired - thereby proving the point.

They are a mess of out of control adult-children psychopaths who need desperately to be put in their place, and out of their misery. I swear to you that that day is coming and NOT because any of us want it - but because this is the way the majority of them act, and actions have consequences. All of their sincere denial to the contray.

And remember, in Psychology, “Sincere Denial” means - Delusional!

@14 If it makes you feel better to think that, then go ahead. The reality is quite different. I live in the UK and spend a lot of time in SoAm. I know where I would like to live if the shit hits the fan. It would not be Argentina. Can you remember what happened just 10 short years ago because most Argentines can clearly remember.

You seem to forget the very real different between being a developed economy and one that is trying to develop on the back of corruption, high inflation and greedy unions.

@11 Because you were still a confederation of independant states (Provinces) at the time, it wasn't until the 1950's when you made a consititution that you became known as Federal Republic of Argentina which was also when the name argentina was given to your country. Also BA was not always part of argentina and in the 1830's was know as the United Provinces of the River Plate and was comprised mostly of the former Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata dependencies such as Boliva, Uruagauy and Brazil, and had Buenos Aires as its capital. So back then it was a completely difference country altogether and that country does not exist anymore. Argentina came about afterwards when the remaining provinces joined to form Argentina.

Amazing, how the world is a liar, and Argentina is the only one to tell the truth,
When CFK insulted Britain, [that was ok] when he politely returned the favour, Argentina goes into melt down; they just can’t handle the truth, or countries replying to them,

Have you noticed the complete silence from CFK,
If only they grew up and took responsibly for their actions, and tell the truth,
The world may yet be a better place,
But as long as she has a distraction for her own debunked economy, she’s ok.

    14. We are very war weary here in the USA, plus we have a very weak President. We probably won't start a war but maybe Iran will. They are playing a very dangerous game with us right now.
Also I would guess there are about as many Brits living in Arg as there are RGs living in UK. You can buy a lot of Pesos with Pounds and the weather is nicer. I would bet as things get more and more out of hand in Arg they'll move somewhere else just like I did. I saw this coming a while ago and didn't want to be the last one left.
Haven't you see the travel spending differential? Pretty soon RGs won't be able to leave the country with any $. As they say on Game of Thrones Winter is coming....

    @16

I agree with you that Argentina was a different country before the 1860s, I say that myself. But your geography and premises are completely out there, you don't really know the DETAILS of Argentine history which makes your general assumptions grossly incorrect. There is nothing wrong not knowing, I don't know much history of most countries, except general history. But please don't come to me as an argentine and try to pass as knowing more than me.

The USA is said to have begun in 1776, not in 1865, unless you are going to make such argument.

Argentina may have had a different form of “union” before 1853, but it was still a separate country since 1810.

Such a good job Argentina once again and again! The whole world speaks of the sovereignty dispute all the time, gets to know the truth and becomes aware of Argentina's peaceful stance and growing support. This is exactly the least that the UK expects: the existence of the dispute and the need to solve it cannot be no longer hidden or denied! Come to terms with it UK both in London and your colony!

Peaceful blockading of Islands fishing fleet. Talk of cutting off last flight to SA. The order to catch the imature squid before they reach falklands therefore damaging the fishing revenue. Sounds very peaceful and not victimisation of a small population by a corrupt bankrupt country with no historical claim.
