47% said they feared it would negatively affect Argentinas image abroad. The other 53% said. “So what.”

62% of argies think it's a positive “decision” when CFK farts. That's because 62% of argies ARE farts.

KFC is ruining the country and 62% approve. This means that either:-

a/ 62% of Agentinians are brainwashed

    or

b/ 62% of Agentinians are really, really that stupid.

I'll leave you to make up your own mind.

It would seem that 62% of Argentinians are (politically) illiterate,

and that 23% understand the issues.

Actually it's 31% who understand the issue, 23% “in disagreement” + 3% who reject it totally.

It is the thinking sector of Argentina rather than those that rely on the Kirchner administration for their livelihood like the malvinistas who come out of the woodwork here.

Chile has a fairly honest populace (Yes we are not that trustworthy, but more so than Argentines.) If we were able to nationalize/filch a new oil discovery from some nasty arab oil company without any economic consequences, probably 62% of Chileans would also approve. However, it's doubtful they would even consider it however stealing from China, the USA, Japan, Canada, etc... as they are very important trading partners.

You might like to peruse the Wall Street Journal article on the topic.
    It pulls no punches.

It also shows that Repsol was strong-armed by the Kirchners all the way down the line, and that not only does the Argentinian government owe billions to Repsol - so does Petersen Group, headed by Argentine's banker and construction magnate Enrique Eskenazi, a long-time Kirchner ally.

According to published accounts in the Argentine press and in The Wall Street Journal, the Petersen acquisition of almost 25.5% of YPF was completed with almost no money down. Repsol agreed to finance the majority of the shares, and loans from banks financed the balance.
Repsol says that the Petersen Group still owes it $1.9 billion.

Repsol have been right royally stuffed by Argentina all down the line.

Interesting read. Should be made mandatory reading for anyone contemplating doing business with the Argentinians.

So the Peterson Group were pretty much given their shares for free while lumbering YPF with a policy of 90% dividend payments.

That WSJ article is compelling reading. It seems that economics in Argentina revolves around a statue of Mickey Mouse.

#7 and #8 if you are not happy with what Argentina is doing to the oil industry maybe you'll like to move to Libya or iraq, if you are not happy in Argentina you are better off in UKistan because It must be sad to live in a country you hate with soo much passion.

I don't get the impression thay hate their country. On the contrary, they come across here and elsewhere, as having a deep care and concern for her.

#15 we don't hate Argentina ! we do hate Argentina's international servitude approach to policy and the fact that national interests for many years came in second behind the international community interests. Today I am proud to say I am part of that 62% because when YPF made money they invested in Mexicso and Brazil while letting the fields in Argentina fail to meet oil independence allowing speculators to drive up cost across the board on hidden costs from production to distribution. Dooms day is really coming to those calling for it, last doomsday populated the whole of america with the survivors. Not much can be done to tame the beast we might as well enjoy the little time we have on earth. Besides this is it there is no where to run, this is the place and time for people to take a stand.

Only 29 people in each of the '40 main cities of Argentina' were polled.

No change of a meaningfull result here.

It's about like the fabled 54% that was not. Only 36.2% of the eligibible vote actually voted for her - 63.8% DID NOT.

    Spain, we have a problem,
So what do you want us to do about it,
    Action speaks louder than words,
Until then CFK will carry on as normal,
    The world will talk tough,
And the Spanish military will ummmm just wait,

@14 I don't hate my country, blockhead. I LOVE it, that's precisely WHY I hate CFK and her court of abhorrent sycophants who are DESTROYING it! The Kirchners have been ruling us for a freakin' DECADE, for crissake! Only NOW they realized Repsol was underperforming? In 2010 CFK herself PRAISED the company!

#19 if you didn't hate Argentina you wouldn't be here spewing trash about Argentina.
#21 I wouldn't come here professing any moral ground if I was a brit, their just support will render any argument futile, bias and self serving, but you're all welcome to try, that is what democracy and freedom is all about.

Argentina February economic activity expands 5.2%, but surprises ahead for industry
Argentina's economy grew at an annual rate of 5.2% in February according to the country’s stats office Indec monthly economic activity report Emae, reflecting good performances in construction and manufacturing. But prospects for the industrial sector could have some surprises.

These figures are all well and good, if you can believe them. Frankly if you issue them and have a system in place that, criminalises the publication of independent figures. Then to my way of thinking, you have to question their validity.

#19 & 21 How is the wonderful Cristina “destroying” your country. There will always be haters and I'm glad you feel free to speak your mind, but most Argentines love my Queen for a reason, that she's restoring their dignity and fighting for their rights against the rich and powerful with amazing courage.

If you ever manage to get rid of her, which I doubt, let us know in Britain as we could use a brave radical leader ourselves to sort out the mess we're in; though we might understandably not be her first choice and we do at least have Mr Galloway...

But seriously you should realise how lucky your country is to have a leader like Cristina, eloquent, brave, beautiful and firmly on the side of the people. If every country had a leader like Cristina we'd have a better world

    25 reality check

Scottie_Kirchner (as I call him) is an unreconstructed communist Scottish Old Labour 'British Patriot'.

He wants to stay in the Union, because he is not stupid - he knows that leaving would mean he loses his benefits and everything will go up in price, including his taxes to support Salmond.

His 'Queen' is not HM Queen Elizabeth II but the rubber doll with delusions of being the President of Argentina.

The way she is going she will soon be a rubber plant with delusions of life.

His type were chucked out of gainful imployment when Maggie came into power due to their belligerant attitude to business owners and sassenachs in general.

The sad thing is he does not 'take the piss': most times he actually means this drivel that he writes.

He will not go to Argentina to live though. Says it all really.

Exxon in Venezuela, Repsol in Argentina... For 600 years now Europe and USA have been profitting from cheap ressources from SA. Bloody about time it stopped!! You still think we are living a “financial crisis”? Face the new world order, no more cheap ressources from the 3rd world. Add the fact that world economy is moving to China and you have the explanaition of your “financial crisis”. And you call Arg thiefes???

Who lived in the land that is now called Argentina 600 years ago??? did they have their resources stolen???? Hypocrite!! Argentina was a colony and actively stole (settled / displaced the NATIVE inhabitants. Argentinas demographics are a majority of european immigrants. So get off the moral high ground. And yes i think RG land is in financial crisis, the government controls the press and suppresses the facts on the junk status of the economy.
