“We form part of the South Atlantic and we need to maintain it as an area of peace, and free of militarization” said Cristina Fernández.
This is why you use your military to harrass Falkland Islands registered ships? If the South Atlantic is to be free of militarisation by definition, I take it that the Argentinian navy (such as it is) will be disbanded then, Christina?

Yeah right, just because your navy is old and only good for intimidating fishing boats and freighters doesn't mean that you're demilitarized.

It means demilitarisation by the British only, so that Argentina can take what it wants, without opposition.

    Wiki:
José Eduardo dos Santos married three times and has six children from his wives, and one born out of wedlock.[16] He and his family have amassed a significant personal fortune. The actual value is unknown, but in recent years his daughter Isabel dos Santos, who manages the family fortune, has made multi-million dollar investments in Angola and in Portugal, in her name and that of her husband.[17]

I was just wondering on this militarisation issue. Of the two main occupants in this South West Atlantic Corner of the Atlantic Argentina and the Falklands, (I doubt Chile would even be interested in a pi$$ing contest) who has the Most Soldiers, the most Military Ships and the most Military Aircraft.... Surprise surprise its Argentina. OK so lets start demilitarising, let us know when you get down to our numbers and we can join in.... Till then.....

What a pair, Kretina and Dos Santos, two of the most corrupt leaders in the world. They are made for each other.

But Kretina is saving Argentina by selling 18 harvesters that haven't been made yet to Angola, and exchanging soy for petroleum and gas to heat her hotels in Calafate.

Lead paragraph from article in Uruguayan national daily El Observador (my translation; scroll down for Spanish text.
“This Friday Nobel Prizewinner for Literature Mario Vargas Llosa blames Peronism for the ”self-destruction“ that, in his judgement, is leading Argentina to underdevelopment, impoverishment and populism, and compared its trajectory to that which put Aldolf Hitler in power in Germany.”

This is a question; Is Mario Vargas Llosa the famous Latin writer who said that one of Latin Americas biggest problems is that it is 'too much in love with blood and death'? From Mexico in the north with its drug gang deaths to Brazil with its war of the favelas through Columbia down to Argentina there seems to be a greater tendency than elsewhere in the western Christian world to resort to extreme violence. Is it just a 'growing up 'phase which Europe thankfully seems to have grown out of or is it something more long term ?
Anybody know the answer to the Mario Vargas question please post it as I have not been able to find it myself.

    @12 Lord Ton

I think this may be a question of 'the biter being bitten' or 'two can play at this game' .What did Ms Castro expect if she went to the home of tolerant free speech (the LSE ) and started spouting her prehistoric Peronist rubbish to the British home crowd. People in Argentina might be brainwashed enough to listen quietly and accept it but nobody in Britain believes a word and definitely not these free thinking students who pointed out a few of Argentina,s
imperfections which seemed to have upset the lady.I hope the instigator was William Hague but I do not think the Foreign Office is creative enough for that.

    @20 Falklandlad & Lord Ton
Just read the article. Aside from the obvious ploy of trying to ratchet up S Amercican tensions over so called militarisation of the area, her remarks on self determination were incredulous. Saying you support something in general, is basically saying you do not in fact support it, after all they are talking of one the fundamental principles of the UN. Then to go on and say you support Self determination for some but not for others, is well, frankly laughable. Keep her in the UK, she is doing an absolute fantastic job at providing the very reason why the Falklands will always remain as it choses.

@ 21 Agreed, reality check. This ongoing nonsense from CFK and her closest chums is absolutely priceless PR for the Falklands. Post 1982 there was light hearted discussion that Galterie was the Falklands politcal saviour, and a statue in his honour on Stanley waterfront would have been a fitting thank you for promoting the Falklands into the 21st Century and on stage it could only have dreamed of before 1982. CKF would be a close runner up nowadays, as the Falklands unpaid PR guru!

Think you'll find that it does exist, as does every other ship that Rufus mentioned. When Argentina gets rid of all of their ships except for two, we'll remove HMS Dauntless and HMS Clyde while Argentina removes its final two craft. Oh, and Argentina should disband both its Army and Air Force, which while old and rubbish, are still quite large. If Argentina does that, we'll remove the garrison on the Falklands. Then the south atlantic will be completely demilitarised. Until that happens, the small garrison on the Falklands will remain, as history has shown on two occasions (1832 and 1982) that Argentina cannot be trusted not to invade sovereign British territory. Oh, and by the way, stop worshipping a Botox queen, she's not good looking and she's a terrible leader for her country.

Her hypocrisy really knows no bounds.

Argentina only hates the fact the UK could very easily flex its military might on the bully that is Argentina trying to intimidate the peaceful people of the Falkland Islands.

You know without the power of the UK stood behind the people of the Falkland Island's would be in the hands of the aggressor that is Argentina.

It's so pathetic that 1; the people of the Falkland Island's need the UK to defend them and 2; she cries wolf when she can't force her way on others and goes complaining to anyone who will listen.

Its all very childish and rather pathetic.

Of course they are!!! The Argentines are you classic playground bully. If they see something they like, they take it by force. If you ask them nicely to return what wasn't theirs in the first place, you are met with silence. If you use force against them and win, you get nothing but sulks and spite until they do get their way.

It's not pathetic that the Falklanders need the UK to defend them, it's their right and we would do it anyway, it's just sad that we have to perminantly garrison the Islands because of the Argentine continued threats and intimidation towards a people that have done / are doing nothing more than trying to live their lives the best way they can.

Unfortunately, I think that the Argentines will never grow up, will never learn to live and let live. That part of their brain is missing so The Falkland Islanders will alway have to be on their guard. You are right, it is all very childish AND it is pathetic. Pathetic that the Argentine government has not learnt, will not learn and looks like it will never learn.

Cretina has come away from angola without any sort of signed agreement. Her “new way” is to barter, Argentina's food for angola's oil. Of course she has to barter because she has no money.

I have no doubt that the angolans will be told by the UK/US etc. not to bother with Rg Land and anyway the Angolans will know that RG Land is not a stable partner that can be relied upon.

Did Castro really think she was going to influence people at the LSE? She really is like KFC, free publicity for the Falklnd Islands. She and most of the RG bloggers still think Self determination does not apply to the FI when even the decolonisation blurb indicates that Non -Governing territories are encouraged toward independence. Of course this is repeating the ovbious, but for the benefit of the RG's it needs repeating. The Angolan president is clearly desperate to think of trading with Urgentina, once KFC gets the oil, she will default on the food.

Here in Buenos aires we are starting to get tired from her and her pawns corruption and lies, in less than two years her government will collapse and new political figures may get to power, this will be the end of peronism, argentina is a country that could be od great importance in the world economy. Now why would I need to know one single name of a Falkland Islander? Of what relevance is it to this topic or any other topic for that matter. Is it your hypothesis? that in order to believe that the Right to Self Determination is paramount and worth supporting and defending. It is also necessary to know the names of those people who are exercising that right. If it is your hypothesis, I am not sure it is going to catch on.

Oh and by the way, you only need to ask, not demand. Such a harsh word. I demand this, we demand that. Just ask, much more polite.

    I hear that,
following the unilateral CFK verbal-pacification of the South Atlantic:

Taiwan is to declare the North Pacific an 'Area of Peace'
Samoa is to declare the South Pacific an 'Area of Peace'
Greenland is to declare the North Atlantic as an 'Area of Peace'
Sri Lanka is to declare the Indian Ocean as an 'Area of Peace'

.....And the USA will declare Asia as an 'Area of Peace',
.....Russia will declare North America and Europe as an 'Area of Peace', .....China will declare The Whole World as an 'Area of Peace'
.... and Carl Sagan (RIP) will retrospectively declare the whole universe as God's peaceful province.

    Really WEIGHTY pronouncement, Christina!

    “What war”

The war we are going to have down there if UK continue down this path. Wars start like this wrong signals, wrong political gestures (like to send subs), refuse to talk about how to fix the problem, etc.

Then you have the war that none wanted and none can stopped because is too late.

And this is going to be a really big war because UK is pissing off not only Arg. otherwise the full SA. And Arg. militaries will not want to loose as is their great opportunity to gain again recognition from Arg. population.

And we are going to have bigger war memorials lets say to put there 5000/6000 and doesn’t matter who win or lost. And the Islanders will be the ones that will suffer more because will be a lot of destruction with a lot of “collateral casualties” like happen in modern wars when you use some type of weapons.

    Well lets see and wait...

I wonder if Cristina is aware that in 1850 the Confederación Argentina and Britain subscribed to and ratified the Arana-Southern Treaty, the so called “Perfect Friendship Treaty”. This treaty says that neither of the two parties has any pending grievance against the other - the Falklands/Malvinas claim by Argentina is not mentioned. In view of this then surely the Argentine claim was automatically extinguished. Now we know why Argentina refuses to submit its claim to the International Court of Justice for resolution.

The current bunch of erratic comedians governing Argentina couldn't even run a corner shop and are leading the country to international 'pariah status'. They are only using the 'Falkland Islands' to distract their population away from what is really happening to their country while they continue to fill their pockets.

@67 - Dany. Fix what problem?

As far as the British are concerned there is no problem. The Falklands will remain British for as long as the Islanders wish to, and no amount of hysterical screaming and foaming at the mouth by your President and her cronies is going to change that. The British forces in the South Atlantic are there as a deterrent, not as an attack force.

You must think very highly of the British Armed forces if you believe that a couple of ships, 1, 000 military personnel and 4 fighter aircraft can be that much of a threat to Argentina and the WHOLE of South America.

I don't mention the nuclear powered sub, as it may or may not be in the area. Oh, and a nuclear powered sub is not necessarily a nuclear armed sub ( your politicians don't seem to know the difference). Nor do they understand that if Britain truly wanted to make parts of Argentina glow in the dark we could do it from London, we don't need to be parked off shore to do it.

Not that Britain would ever use nuclear weapons it this way, which would be against the Laws of Armed Conflict, and against international law. International law, that's the thing that Argentina keeps ignoring.

As for your comments about the rest of South America, why would they risk their troops and assets to fight Argentina's wars? For what gain? They would gain nothing from entering a shooting match with the UK. Argentina's armed forces aren't up to it (which is why you're trying to involve others), and the only 2 countries with armed forces up to the task are Chile and Brazil, both of whom RG land has upset in the last few months.

You say that you are friends and brothers with them, and then you'll stab them in the back at the 1st opportunity.

Dany you've been listening too much to CFK. All of South America doesn't support you. Some may give verbal support (mainly to shut CFKs screeching up), but saying 'we support your claim' is an entire galaxy away to actually going to war with someone over it.

First of all, no one is planning any war with you. The UK is adopting a positive defence posture to counter any military threat from Argentina. The easiest and most effective way to protect the Islands, is to deploy the assets we have already deployed.

Secondly, you, Argentinia, have been appointed to speak on behalf of the rest of the S. American Countries, on matters of International relations and defence, have you? I do not recall reading or hearing of such a defence pact in any of the main stream media.

Thirdly, are the rest of the South American countries, really that concerned with ingratiating themselfs with Argentina? are they really that shallow?

Last of all, no collateral damage because, listen carefuly now, no war! and no negotiations until Argentina recognises the Right to Self Determination for the Falkland Islanders.

However, we have spent significant amounts of of GDP to make sure we NEVER find ourselves in a similar predicament of 1978 when they nearly brutally invaded out country. (Yes, “brutally”, Operation Soberanía plans were brutal.)

Today, we have the capacity to destroy the Argentinean military and still fight off any simultaneous attacks from Peru and Bolivia.

What's humorous to me is that the Falklands needs less than a thousand military service people, 4 fighters and 1 destroyer to hold Argentina helpless...

@67 DanyBerger (#) You are very naive my friend. Although there have been huge military cuts, the UK military is still far more updated and has a far superior power projection. ARG or even SA for that matter do not, and most likely will not go to war with the UK. That said even the British will do everything to prevent a war, and this apparent annoyance that SA has with the UK, has only really been spoken off by ARG. The others have chosen to back ARG, but who wouldnt in their situation. It is clear that they have no passion for the islands, and their main urge to back ARG is driven purely because they are neighbouring countries, that trade and obviously interact with ARG. That said, ARG current economic path, doesn't bode well for either them or SA, and if they continue with their protectionist ideals, they will soon sour their relations with these countries. Also factor in the US and China. War between the UK and SA ? Bad for America and bad for China. For obvious reasons the US to not want their biggest ally fighting with possible the biggest developing Continent and a haven for investors. They cant back either side for fear of hurting the other so they would try everything to stop war, even more that in the 80's. With London being the Financial capital of the world, and now a hub for Chinese finance and investment, the UK is both useful and essential to china. For similar reasons to the US, SA is also very important to the Chinese. And with the US being allies with the UK, china will be unlikely to actively or directly oppose Britain. When i say actively or direct i mean anything other than statements, or abover board military aid. Consider the international community and their feelings of aggression, and then understand why ARG cant openly start a war with the UK, without extreme criticism. The world is in a strong status quo, until the US either falls or is overtaken, its unlikely there will be any major conflicts.Hence Your School boy talk of war isnt clever

I am a Falkland Islander and I agree it would be better if our two countries were friends but you should know that the relationship between here and Argentina was not as you describe. Yes Falkland Islanders were able to attend medical facilities in Argentina but there was no choice in this for most people. Add to this the fact that Argentina controlled all air access but would not permit Falkland Islanders to travel on British passports. Argentina controlled the fuel supply and forced Falkland Islanders to accept a mitary garrison to 'protect' it. Argentine authorities opened Falklands mail. It was not a pleasant time for Falkland Islanders and we have no wish to return to that sort of relationship. If we ever have a working relationship with Argentina again, it is going to be one that we want.

    @76 Ialbe.

Argentina has not been a good friend or neighbour of the Falkland Islanders since Peron invented the Argentine claims to the islands in the 1940s.

In 1982 your country invaded and tried to subjugate the people on the Falklands, and in the intervening years have done NOTHING to promote friendship or even be good neighbours.

You have it written into your constitution that the Falklands is Argentine territory (which it has NEVER been), your government has tried to starve the Islanders out, threatened them with invasion, with removing their rights as people, and have even talked of ethnically cleansing the islands! This is Argentine friendship?

If Argentina wants true friendship with the people of the Falklands then it has to EARN it. However, Argentina frequently breaks its word and can't be trusted. But if you truly want to mend fences with the islanders this is what Argentina must do.

Acknowledge that the people of the Falklands exist and that they have their own government, culture and way of life.
Remove the offending portion of the constitution regarding the Falklands.
Drop your erroneous and spurious claims to the Falklands, which hold no water historically, legally or morally. If you had any real claim you would have taken the dispute to the international court of justice, but you don't, so you won't.
Try asking, and stop DEMANDING things.
Apologise unreservedly for the invasion in 1982.
Stop trying to bring economic pressure to bear on the islands.
    In short STOP threatening them.

If you do all these things, and keep your word, maybe in 30 or 40 years time a dialogue can be opened up between BA and the Falkland Islands Government.

However, pigs will fly before Argentina ever keeps its word or stops threatening the countries that border it, and the Falkland Islands.

ROYAL NAVY SIGNALS READINESS TO PROTECT GIB WATERS
Yesterday, 19th May 2012 - by Brian Reyes
The Royal Navy expelled a Guardia Civil vessel from Gibraltar waters following an incursion by Spanish fishermen late on Thursday, in a clear sign that Britain will not tolerate any attempt to escalate the fishing row.
A British navy officer told the Spanish vessel that it was violating international law and ordered it to leave British territorial waters immediately.
    http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=24900
    …………….ALSO
    HMS WESTMINSTER
    • HMS Westminster smashed the actions of three pirate groups in a fortnight – sending the boats to the bottom of the Indian Ocean. The Portsmouth-based warship treated the skiffs to a Viking funeral, blasting them out of the water with her guns and those of her Merlin helicopter.
    http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=24900
And the royal navy is also sending a nuclear submarine, [as reported yesterday]
    Into the south Atlantic, ,,
The fact is, we are powerful, but in a nice friendly way, we serve to protect,
And deter, and for the historical fact, that prevention is far better than cure, and a re-accurance has not happened, proved then the deterrence is working, ,,is this not true .

However if Argentina ever did decide to attack the Falklands you would discover that the UK has HMS Illustrious, an aircraft carrier. It doesn't carry fixed wing aircraft it's true, but it does carry helicopters. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of an Apache.

The question is, are you willing to die in the battlefield or not, because you and the Islanders will suffer a lot of casualties like in any war.

All your little infrastructure including rigs ports, etc will be destroyed.

If you are please keep going like this, you are doing a good job to be hated even more by the Argentines.

Then will see who wins and how useful were your toys.

@109 - Dany, you have no understanding about war fighting. That much is blatantly obvious from your posts.

There will only be a war if Argentina was stupid enough to try and invade. Last time your forces invaded they faced 70 men, and the only casualties that night were Argentine. If you tried to invade again you would show the world that your talk of peace were lies. You would also be breaking international law, and any deaths or injuries would be laid firmly at YOUR doorstep (just like in 1982).

Any Argentine invasion force would be lucky to reach the islands, let alone get ashore. As I said you have no idea what it takes to undertake a action of this kind. It takes a lot of money, which Argentina does not have. It takes men and equipment, equipment Argentina does not have.

So Dany, stop embarrassing yourself with these inane comments.

@115 - Dany. Yet again more ignorance spills from your mouth. International law is something that every country who signs up to the UN charter has to abide by. Except of course pariah states, like Argentina.

Argentina has no money (hence why your president is trying to trade your food for oil), you have no credit rating to speak of and no one would trust you to pay back any money that you borrowed, so you can't take out a loan.

Since Argentina's military has old weapons and equipment, little or no fuel, and not enough ammunition to train with, let alone start a war, I'm curious as to how you, Dany, are going to invade the islands, and then keep hold of them? Please enlighten us with your brilliant tactical mind - oh you can't because you are just full of hot air.

Then you talk about the islands paying for themselves. Well Argentina has huge amounts of natural resources already, but because of rampant corruption, are unable to exploit them, so you have no money, when you should be one of the wealthiest nations on earth.

What makes you think you could exploit the resources of the Falklands when you can't exploit your own country's?

Or is this the part where you convince the Brazilians and Chileans to fight and die for you, so you can later stab them in the back? Only the people of Brazil and Chile aren't as gullible as Argentinian people, and they don't trust your country as far as they could throw it.

@122 - Dany. I am an ex-soldier, and yes if needed I would fight to defend the Falklands against any aggressor, I haven't been out of the mob too long so a little refresher training is all I would require.

Regarding cost. There is no way to put an exact figure on it, but considering Argentina's current financial state, and the current state of your armed forces, it would certainly be in the billions of dollars, a rough estimate would be US$40 billion. That's just to upgrade your armed forces and munitions.

Argentina hasn't got billions of dollars, especially to squander on an invasion that is unlikely to succeed. Not BS, the truth, something I know you don't hear very often in Argentina.

Your armed forces are decades behind the UK in equipment and is untested in battle, and the UK has a very experienced war fighting army, which is well equipped and trained with the most modern weapon systems around.

So how would you invade Dany? By air? Not good as the Typhoons and HMS Daring could destroy your whole airforce between them. By sea? Not good either, because HMS Daring, the Typhoons and the submarine could take out any of your ships. Both air and sea? Well there's still that gauntlet to run, so the odds don't look too good. And if by some miracle your troops landed, they would then have to fight land based troops, which could be reinforced within 24hrs from the UK.

The last time your navy messed with an RN submarine, all it took was the sinking of one ship, and your navy ran back to port and stayed there. That was in 1982, and your armed forces were in better condition then than they are now. So what do you think the odds are on you succeeding now?

It would take 20-30 years of solid investment in your armed forces to bring them up to scratch. By that time Britain will have 2 new super carriers, with all the aircraft that go with them, and Argentina will still be playing catch up.

Dany, your talk of invading the Falklands is just a pipe dream.

Britain provides protection to Falklands, the SGSSI and British Antarctic Territories, and while this costs a fair bit, its not very expensive and there is no doubt that voters support the policy. But CFK has promised no military option in her quest to take back Falklands, so just what leverage really does she have over Britain and the Falklands, if she is promising to close the one option that has some costs to Britain? “Peacefully”, CFK expects to usurp resources from the Falklands Sea/Scotia Sea (oil, fish, cruise ships), by turning the legal crank using belligerent commercial thuggery that if successful, would crush several vital legs of Falklands development as a sustainable, self-determinant community. Hopefully, Britain can mount the kind of defence that complements HMS Talent with a “hunter-killer” economic “Talent” that thwarts her wicked goals.

@127 - Dany. Your posts get even funnier, and you continue to show your complete ignorance regarding military matters.

I put forward reasonable posts regarding Argentina's ability to invade the Falklands, and since you are out of your depth you respond in a very childish manner. You actually make CFK appear like a reasonable person.

You ask how we are planning to fight back without any aircraft carriers. Well, Dany, you have to reach and then successfully invade 1st, which as I have said in previous posts, is highly improbable given the current state of your armed forces. You say don't mention the 4 typhoons or you'll die laughing - we could only hope. I'm sure Argentina's armed forces are glad you are not President, as you would bravely send them all to their deaths, and fight to the last drop of their blood.

You didn't answer how you plan to invade, and instead gave an infantile response. Tut, tut, Dany. Surely with your amazing tactical brain you could plan how Argentina could do this?

Also how are planning on financing this invasion? Because of successive governments distrust of your armed forces since the junta, they have been starved of resources. Their equipment is old, and U/S. Yoou can barely afford fuel to allow a couple of ships out of port, let alone the whole fleet (some of which can't sail as they badly need servicing and replacement components). You air assets aren't much better off.

It costs US$ 95,000 for one javelin missile. This is a handheld and fired weapons system (bit like a bazooka, but much cooler, amour piercing). And this is one of the cheaper types of missile. So, just how do you plan to pay for new ships, aircraft, weapons systems etc...? Remember that retrofitting or even 'buying off the shelf' is costly and takes time - hence the 20-30 years time frame to get your forces up to scratch.

So I don't think that the Falkland Islanders have much to worry about. Argentina would worry in you were in charge.

Don't worry LEPRecon, arguing with danny is like arguing with a 4 year old.

Your 40bn estimate is reasonable although arguably not enough since the UK is at least 30 years ahead in military terms over Argentina and in the past 30 years has spent all of the time advancing its technology and forces.

In Argentina's current state quite clearly to any sane person the UK forces would easily be able to destroy the Argentine forces.

Not even CFK is mad enough to start a conflict with the vastly superior UK forces.

And also the last war lasted little more than 2 months, and back then the Argentine forces were more evenly matched with the UK. Now however there is a larger gap, so the suggestion of a war possibly going on for up to or longer than 6 months is not likely.

I asked you to quote me the time that i mentioned the phrase other than post 77, 'this argument', in reference to the supposed time that i have previously mentioned this phrase. So i ask again, what other time have i used this phrase ? It really isnt hard.
As for the word 'apache', it is impossible to anticipate someone doing something again, if they have not done something in the first place. It is logical contradiction.

You obviously follow Argentine politics quite closely, but it is also obvious that you have never lived in South America. Democracy is not perfect and especially in SAmerica. It is ultimately the right solution, but you need to get there first.

What I am getting at is that democracy can be dangerously exploited in an immature society. I think that is what Ialbe is implying in post 125. S/he is not saying that they poor shouldn’t vote. S/he is saying that the poor have been manipulated and that is to the detriment of the country.

Remember, you are sitting in a country that has universities that are 1000+ years old. Crick and Watson discovered DNA before the first colour TV arrived in Chile. You can’t project your understanding of how things work on to a very different society.

I think it is a shame that in post 125 you have genuine first hand opinion of how peronism and CFK has ruined a country and you just dismiss it because it doesn’t fit with your vision of how things are.

Come over to SAmerica some time. I will show you around. I can take you to some protests so you can experience tear gas and water cannon. Then we can reverse in to a slum and I will drop you off so you can talk politics with some of the locals. Just kidding I wouldn’t wish that on you, but you get my point.

“So if you think that for one second you are able to construct some sort of relevant and understandable counter argument be my guest”

“i have ever mentions the phrase 'power projection'” I have ever mentions??? Or I have ever mentioned?

    Conclusion:

1- British have not good grammar at all and many of them like Albert Einstein suffer from dyslexia.
2- I have an employer that is not paying me. Gosh!
3- I’m from the secret service. Oops!

Wow little brains only produce little thinking.

    @MurkyThink

    “he is heavy smoker”

    Close, very close. : )

    @ ynsere

And who is paying you? Are you being paid in U$s, BP or Pesos?

I guess in pesos and earning very little.

@152 - Dany. Still not able to put together a coherent argument about how you and your fascist buddies could invade and hold the Falklands?

Truth be told I thought you'd have disappeared up your own a*se by now.

So changing the subject onto grammar is your way of telling everyone that you have no counterpoints to my or THOR94's well thought out arguments about how Argentina doesn't have the capability or capacity to invade and hold the Falklands.

It just shows everyone that you are ignorant in military matters. Did you ever go and talk to any of your veterans regarding the war as I suggested? You should, they could teach you a lot, or do you, like many if your countrymen pretend they don't exist?

Poor Dany. He's lost his faith in CFKs ability to run the country, and now he realises that he isn't the Napolean he thought he was. Shame.

'1- British have not good grammar at all and many of them like Albert Einstein suffer from dyslexia.' - Please re read the post, because you fail to understand the point. Some people suffer from dyslexia, but this does not prevent them from being intelligent or putting across a good argument. As in, spelling incorrectly repeatedly, does not devalue an argument.
'2- I have an employer that is not paying me. Gosh!'I never said this, and also i think you fail to understand some simple humour. How very sad.
'3- I’m from the secret service. Oops!' - Once again i did not say this but does sarcasm mean anything to you ?

And if you on the subject of grammar, once again this is a comments box, not a grammar competition. Despite how it was worded or spelt my argument still beat yours.

oh can i correct you on something, seen as though you are so keen on grammar.

' British have not good grammar at all '
it should be 'British people DO NOT HAVE good grammar'.......

IN CONCLUSION: As DanyBerger failed to even attempt to address points as laid out in post 77, he can not construct an argument against it.. And so DanyBerger has been proved wrong. He only comment son grammar and tries to distract from the original argument.

Oh and please stop comenting on my speeling ?!?! its not that bad......

Poor Danny Berger-he laughs at Typhoons, but I am guessing he isn't an Argentine Air Force pilot, who might not find the prospect of fighting against one very pleasant. Argentina invaded the Falklands in 1982 with 10,000 troops vs 80 Royal Marines. Just over two months later they lost. There are now actually substantial forces on the Islands, and unless Argentina can put Mount Pleasant out of action in two days, there will be a lot more than 4 aircraft and the present troop levels.

    @LEPRecon
To invade your little Island is easy than you ever thought, but this is not the place to talk about the subject.

So now I’m more interested in your poor grammar.

    @THOR94

Sir, you not only have problem with your grammar and spelling I guess.
You also have problem to understand so here the explanation.

When you find a @ typically followed by a username that means that the post is addressed to him.

So see again my post please, and you will find that my reply to you ended when @MurkyThink appears as I’m doing in this post.

And yes your grammar and spelling is very bad even me can tell you that.

    @Pete Bogus

Keep telling to your self that 4 EFT are enough to keep your safe may be you are lucky and in the end you will convince yourself of that.

But please be careful with foggy days and some flight manoeuvres over a EFT because can be pretty dangerous.

BTW have you fix your problems with Spare Parts?

@156 - Dany. Wishful thinking isn't going to help Argentina and neither is changing the subject, which shows that you have no counter points. You have constantly shown your ignorance of tactics and strategy, even at the most basic level that the ordinary infantry soldiers would know.

Besides, it getting onto winter now, so you've missed your 'window of opportunity' for this year. Do you ever talk to the veterans like I have suggested twice now? They could tell you that fighting in freezing weather is not pleasant at all, and takes a lot of training, proper equipment and morale. Off course you didn't, people like you prefer to ignore these men as they are a reminder of your countries defeat in 1982.

Regarding grammar. Your preoccupation with it is infantile, and as I stated earlier a sure indication that you have no idea what you are talking about, your bluffing can match well thoughout arguments, and that you are a young man with little experience on most matters (student perhaps?), but you don't like to lose so you change the subject constantly. Then you can I won the argument!

Poor Dany. Everyone who reads your posts know that you have no credibility in the subject you we talking about: an Argentine invasion of the Falklands. You tell them that with every comment you make.

A piece of advice. When you are in a hole, the best thing to do is stop digging.

    @158 Dany.

Poor Dany, can't remember any of my previous posts. The British strategy is already in place. You know those military assets that you keep mocking, but are keeping the whole of the Argentinian forces at bay, and the rest of South America if you believe the La Campora trolls on here.

It's you that has no strategy, no tactics, no experience, no common sense and no ability to understand that you have embarrassed yourself with your posts, most of which are either prevarication or an attempt to disguise your ignorance by changing the subject or making insults.

Remember this post you made on the 'Latam Nobel Prize blames Peronisim for Argentina's self-destruction attitude' thread? on that thread @90 DanyBerger says 'I'm so tired of Cristina too let's get rid of her but then can we invade the Islands with the support of a right wing party like Biondini?'

Later on the same thread you then contradict yourself and call the British warmongers, when we post in response to this infantile threat.

You have yet to give any kind of coherant response to these thoughtless posts you made, except unsubstatiated boasts that hold no weight in reality. Stop digging that hole Dany, you're really embarrassing yourself now.

@158 DanyBerger (#) That has nothing to do with it ?!?! LOL I replied to the post that was aimed at me, i didn't even read the part after. YET AGAIN, you have quoted some drivel instead of answering or addressing my argument. I think you have truly been destroyed in everyone of your points mate. :D

I would describe it as arguing with a monkey, but i have a strong feeling that a monkey would do much better.....

You cannot compete with the indoctrinated,
We have this with guz, on the other blogg,

    They understand only two things,
1, Britain is responsibly and blamed for everything, [its our fault]
And Argentina is as innocent as angels in the wind,

    No hear
    No talky

    @LEPRecon

1-Is my fault that your intellectual level is so low to understand?

Well read carefully my post again, follow in reply of what was, look for who is Biondini (RoadMap Right extreme wing) like many countryside poster here claiming to be Argentines.

And then maybe just may be you would understand what I wanted to say.

2-You want to talk to me about war and strategy (no problem) but you have not idea about your ETP AIS is made of.
You have no idea what military weapons ARG produces to shoot your @ss and repeat like monkey political statement copy past from Maggie speech?

So what can we talk about?
Propaganda that you read on The Sun?

3-“You have yet to give any kind of coherant response”

I don’t have to give you a damn sh@t about anything.

4-“Dany, you're really embarrassing yourself now”

The only one that are embarrassing your self is people like you what think that 4 TP will be enough to survive and invasion.

@162 - Hey Dany. Still spouting your usual drivel I see.

I especially like the bit about the 4 Typhoons. Very funny as you show once again your ignorance, but you also seem to have missed some things out.

4 Typhoons - which are years ahead of any airframe argentina has and could easily take out your fighters, or bomb your surface vessels.
1 kick-ass type 45 destroyer - the MOST advanced military surface vessel in the world, which could destroy Agentina's entire airforce with one salvo, plus engage your surface vessels, from outside their current weapons range.
1 submarine which may or may not be in the area (you'll never be sure). Argentina's navy won't come out to play if they suspect there is a sub anywhere near them.

I suspect that CFK has already broached the possibility of invading the Falklands with her joint chiefs. No doubt, after they picked themselves up off the floor after laughing their asses off, they told no they couldn't because they haven't got the resources. Besides CFK doesn't really want the Falklands, 'cos if she did get them who would she have left to blame all her failures on?

Your government, Dany, has starved your armed forces because your armed forces are more of a threat to YOU, the Argentine people, than they are to Britain or the Falkland Islands.

Never mind Dany, you have those long winter months to look forwards to, without food, heating or power. Oh, you'll have plenty of micro chips to eat, but no way of cooking them. :op
