To bastardise a well known phrase, 'You vote for monkeys, you get peanuts'. It's their own furking fault for their ongoing support for Peronism.

Consequences of your own actions, Argfarmers.

Oh I don't know, sometimes people get worse through their political career. We've voted in some who have started well and turned into monsters in the UK too!

@2 I can think of two of those that the plebs/toffs have continued to vote back in. One of said monsters is now best buddies with the pope.

@3 Welcome back to prolific posting. Holiday or off learning a new coding language? Anyway, the only thing of note I think you may have missed is the spirited accusation that TTT, Tobias, Briton, Think and some of the others are all on-line identities of the same equally busy person.

These land owners pay less taxes for the countryside they own than a primary school teacher pays for the little house she may have in a city.

These little group of people can complain all they want, but they will have to pay taxes at the end of the day, like most argentine do.

@5 - Fermin. If your all your farmers can no long afford to farm, just how is your beloved El Presidente going to trade food for oil with Angola?

Not only that, but what are you all going to eat? Are the micro chips still held up at the border? Maybe you could all eat them.

I also believe that you missed the part of the news item were the farmers say that their taxes are going up almost continuously.

“Costs, particularly taxes, have increased non-stop for farmers and thus our incomes have been diminished,” FAA head Eduardo Buzzi explained in a press conference. “Something is going very wrong in Argentina's farms, which is why we are sending this wake-up call”, adding ”We are in bad shape and getting worse”.

Maybe your government should listen to these people. After all if you have nothing to eat then things will get very bad in Argentina.

Remember the French Revolution was caused because the people were starving, and looked what happened to the rulers of that country.

If CFK rules much longer their farming will be destroyed like Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Car manufacturer's laying off, snow in BA province, Farm Strikes, tourism down 6%, large and frequent public protests....they are one extended black out away from total chaos.

2 degrees in BA right now...

Oh would you look at that. A small minority of thug farmers complaining once again, threatening to unstabilize the country like in 2008

Like if they ever paid taxes. They avoid taxes, they use fake indentities so the taxes goes to someone else. They also don't declare the land they own so they have less taxes to pay.
I can talk by experience because i saw the bills of a guy who used to rent my house. He owes almost a million of pesos in taxes. Dirty little scumbag this guy was, i could say his name but he is tremendously popular in the agropecuary chamber. I won't burst your bubble and let you dream all farmers are good people. ;)

This country is full of parasites, KKs, Campora, angry uneducated farmers and government shills and bloggers.

I for one hope you guys kill each other, so educated people like me can move forward and get this country back on its feet.

    Cheers.

I think the most important point made in this article is that a year ago the tamberos were getting $1.60 a litre of milk and now they are getting $1.50. If you take into account inflation of 25-30% these people are going out of business in a hurry.
Once we lose the farmers we lose the commodities markets; we're in for a cold, cold Winter.

I'm not sure where you get that information from but I have full heating on and plenty of power, I went through a 13 hour blackout in the heat of the summer and that was extremely unpleasant not to have air-con, hate to imagine a blackout in the winter...

1 GreekYoghurt (#) Sorry, but those of us of the SRA didn't vote for these bastards and we are all anti-peronist. 11 Simon68 (#) has been in the farming business and knows what he is talking about; and we pay our taxes. Today there is no way you can farm carrying a double set of books and as British farmers in Argentina we have ALWAYS paid our taxes.

#24 GY The old pensioners always suffer as when the economy collapses, they are abandoned with their savings devaluated. It's cold here too. Last night it fell below -3. I may pay more for heating oil, but I have a continuous supply.

Farmers have all the right to protest. My goodness, with the announcement today of Dollars to be converted into Pesos, the country is about to go upside down.

BTW: My 40% discount on my pre-paid ski trip is not such a great deal for me, but the resort operator did quite well in sheltering his income. Good for him.

lf you got rid of the peronists & drop your ridiculous claims to our land, then its possible that we would help you with our new found oil wealth.

If they turn off the gas to homes not just the 300 business that are already closed you will have massive protests. If July is cold they may run out of gas in BA, I think they only have 1 tanker coming for the 10 that YPF canceled.

Stop British taxpayers’ money supporting World Bank loans to Argentina (outstanding 16.2 BILLION). The United States has already indicated that they will veto any new handouts to Argentina.
