    @8 NT5

“So the US port workers are about to go on strike”

No workers at EAST COAST ports may strike in 3 days, no one is going on strike now.

”Didn't someone (wink, wink... up) here say that only in third world banana republics this stuff happened???“

If so they were wrong. A quote and name would help. Every country has strikes. The difference between this potential strike and one in a ”third world banana republic” (by which I assume you mean Argentina) is that the average longshoreman going on strike earns US$124,238 per annum.

And it has nothing to do with the US government.

So high salaries (not eroded by verging hyperinflation) and not against the government.... doesn't sound like the strikes I've been reading about in a certain third world banana republic (read Argentina).

    So back on topic....

  • Captain Poppy

In the USA you do not see strikes against the national government, they are against their employers. Teachers may strike, but that is within a state and even that is at the local city governments. The last time I seen a strike that attempted to cripple the country was the air traffic controllers, Reagan fired them all.

Longshoremen earn a good wage, as do the Merchant Seaman ( US Merchant Marine) that delivers the good through the maritime seaways.

Your supposedly derisive description of Argentina as a TWBR is quite honestly inconsequential. Your country has broken more international treaties in the last 400 years than virtually any other nation in the history of Earth... with the possible exceptions of Spain, France, and all the other colonial powers.

How many treaties did you sign with native peoples with the full intention of never honoring them? Hundreds.

So the PECKSNIFFIAN indignation of a Brit, or European about the rule of law is so risible as to arouse third party pity.

My country? Which country is that? I've already clearly stated to you I'm not British.

You used “third world banana republic” first on a forum about Argentina while attempting another woeful deflection, not me. I truly can't help it if you are your own worst enemy. You are too busy hiding behind archaic and convoluted language to actually say anything. Your volumous posts are nothing but vacuous drivel. Everyone else runs rings around you but you are.... how did you put it? ”a far superior English speaker“ and believe ”Being superior is in [your] nature“.

Well you hang on to that complex. Clutch it tightly to your bosom and let it salve your wounds and ego as you continually say sweet nothings on these forums.

Someone who stands for nothing but their own superiority isn't superior, just pitiful.

You have great linguistic skills and somehow you think those skills can translate into knowledge on social and political commentary. You show an inadequate knowledge of many subjects and worse, you have an almost autistic inability to shape debate or even offer something debatable.

Aspergers spring to mind every time you post on here.

Yesterday you called me half Argentinean? Are we still taking about Argentina?

They amongst others have asked me why I ceased to offer intelligent colloquy... As always my answer remains the same: You can't feed caviar to a pig, and can't expect an opera out of a donkey.

So you decided to become the pig and donkey in your own story. Well if you won't do it then I will eat the caviar and sing the opera instead.

“Your country must be very inconsequential then”

    Perhaps mate. Perhaps.

“I have not gleaned anything from your posts, other than you possess the 2nd best vocabulary in this forum”

Why thank you for the compliment. That is indeed high praise as I do not consider my language skills to be my only intellectual asset; definitely not my highest.. I've never doubted your linguistic skills are higher than mine but I again reiterate that this comment alone proves you have great linguistic skills that do not translate into knowledge on social and political commentary. You show an inadequate knowledge of many subjects and worse, you have an almost autistic inability to shape debate or even offer something debatable.

Just because you can translate something into German, Portuguese, Spanish and French means nowt when you can't actually coherently argue a point. Translating is not rebutting nor is it making any point. It is merely saying the same thing.

Instead of making racist remarks regarding Europeans or Britons, try to actually say something.

    Anything!

Why did Miceli have money in her office? Why didn't she realise it would be found? Does this impact the government's credibility? Or does it bolster it? I there a conspiracy? Or does this bolster civil society?

“You simply [fancy] another story to pretend some greater stratagem that in fact does not exist.”

Correct there is no stratagem, I can show you half a dozen stories I have commented on in the past week that you have not. I can't be blamed for your ineffectually posts and deflections just because I highlight them.

Aaah it was my use of 'mate' wasn't it. Did I lay it on too heavy?

Anyway, “Sorry, I can't answer your questions about Miceli because I do not discuss cabotage politics with foreigners”.

Cabotage!? I know you meant domestic.

Then why are you here? You can put all the bullsh!t about defending your patria aside, no one doubts that. But you must think we all operate under the same form of naïveté as you do. You might be pulling something daily, but it ain't wool.

And I'm not trying to goad you into a response because I know you can't respond. That is your weakness. You're so intellectually skew-whiff that you can only operate within a narrow set of parameters. Post after post after post pretty much boils down to nothing. You actually don't say anything even as you use a lot of words to do it.

Which makes everyone wonder why you are here. Being a troll is surely a waste of superior abilities such as yours. And you don't even stifle debate, it just flows around you. An ineffective troll is probably the most pathetic internet user.

What you don't see is that you actually entrench and perpetuate that which you say you stand against. With every comment you actually besmirch Argentina and I'm now talking the whole country and not just this temporary government. You are so blinded by your linguistic gymnastics that you kick more own-goals than every other poster on here. I've never denigrated my country in my entire life as much as you have Argentina in the past week.

These forums aren't dominated by foreigners or Brits or Kelpers because they are more numerous, but because they partake in discourse, argue, learn, challenge and discuss. And they aren't challenged.

You're a prime example of commensalism. A remora troll who doesn't actually harm anyone and is just along for the ride while we all grow and change and move on.

I'm glad you don't discuss domestic Argentine matters as you won't hinder me.

I'm sorry but my focus is North American and British English, that is where most of Argentina's English speaking enemies dwell. Thus I focus on their vernacular. That is why I learn languages, and culture, and history. Just following Sun Tsu “Keep your enemies closer”. Which is exactly what I do. While I dislike Australia as well, you are far removed and not an immediate threat to us. We will deal with you later if required. But rest assured at the WTO we are doing all in our power to fight back against blatant Australian aggression. It would seem Australia's government requires a diversion, as people are waking up to the “Great Australian Lie”, as it is ironically named. Your “boombing” economy is based only one one economic sector, and worst of all limited to Western Australia. The rest of the country is suffering from stagnation and worst a property boom that has no fundamentals in the eastern cities, thus driving many people into hardship.

Another “anglo-saxon” “bicicleta financiera” that will eventually go oh so wrong.

Why am I here? You answered your own question in the very next sentence.

This forum is dominated by Brits and Kelpers because of the scant pabulum their education system provides. They are constrained by their monolingualism, thus have nowhere else to go. You know why I have not been in these forums all day the last couple of days? I have been humiliating Germans, Italian, and French people for being European, and for hating Argentina. I have the world at my fingertips thanks to my intellect, but mostly thanks to my hard work to learn and expand myself.

Most of you on the other hand are trapped, here.

But I shall return full time here soon enough as well, in due time.

The world wants to hate and destroy us? Well, they will get a commensurate response.

Yankee I disagree.....I think this time his self love is way too strong to runaway and change to a new name. I use to have trouble distinusihing between confidence and arrogance, but thankfully ttt, titti boi, toby, nostil whatever he calls himself, easily split the line on that. He rambles on about his wealth of knowledge and wastes it in support of the criminals running and ruining argentina. All nostril can really do is spout off at the fimgers at how brilliant he is and how stupid every here is and all the while never making a case for argentina. So now that Anglotino shines a spotlight on him and his thin facade, he now states he does not discuss domestic affairs here. And on top he thinks he is insulting posters because of their “monolinguism”. 45% of the world speaks one language, big woop for him. His use of the written word impresses no one and is over shadowed by his myopic rants and insults, without either realizing that he is the biggest insult to himself. He knowingly cannot support argentina and the kirchners, so what is the next best thing? Divert and what better way to do it then to feed his own ego and insult others. He is a classic example of form over function and in the long run function always wins.

And besides Irish, Serbo-Croat, Basque, Welsh, and Finnish... which other ones you speak?

Finnish is not complicated, it's just different. Their multiple cases are very arguably nothing but post-positional descriptives. Sure they also serve to indicate stuff like telicity vs atelicity (partitive case vs accusative case), but if you know how cases work, it is just a matter or practicing the situations and the exceptions.

There may seem like there are many exceptions, but then think about prepositions in English, Spanish, etc. People whose languages rely on cases more than prepositional phrases find it just as complicated to learn the prepositions... since as we all know they can be very hard to memorize and remember all the exceptions, not forgetting each languages uses in many cases a totally different preposition for the same concept, no preposition, or may use moe than one.

You then compound it with extremely shallow research. Saying mining is the only economic driver in Australia is like saying that Argentina's entire economy is built on soya. It's a BOOMING economy not a BOOMBING one. Look what happens to your language skills when you try to argue.

Haha, stagnation, property boom and economic hardship. In every single important economic and social indicator Australia exceeds Argentina. For two countries that were once so similar and equally wealthy that is a bitter pill to swallow. No looting here!

All economic booms finish. But our growth has been going for 20 years now. Argentina's has already finished AGAIN.

“Why am I here? You answered your own question in the very next sentence.” “This forum is dominated by Brits and Kelpers”

I said “These forums AREN'T dominated by foreigners or Brits or Kelpers”

Wow you really do lose your language skills when rattled.

“I have not been in these forums all day the last couple of days? I have been humiliating Germans, Italian, and French people”

Really? I managed to contribute here and on another couple of forums as well as live my life. I guess I am either better at time management or not as limited as you. It's called multi-tasking, you should try it.

“The world wants to hate and destroy us? Well, they will get a commensurate response.”

Really the entire world? There is a prime example of persecution complex. As for the commensurate response, we are still waiting.

”The world wants to hate and destroy us? Well, they will get a commensurate response.”

    Honestly, you flatter yourself.
Most of the world hardly know that you exist, let alone have thought anything about you.
You could disappear tomorrow and they'd never know.

Britain only responds to you, barely, because you're causing mild irritation by nibbling at their ankles.

Watch out, you'll get swatted, and we'll go back to watching the telly.

    :-)

“These forums aren't dominated by foreigners or Brits or Kelpers because they are more numerous, but because they partake in discourse, argue, learn, challenge and discuss. And they aren't challenged. ”

It would appear it is someone else who can't even understand their own posts. You negated an argument, not the premise (which is flawed by the way). Re-read the above, perhaps a 2nd grade summer recuperatory class may help.

Economic conditions in Sydney and Melbourne are at best neutral. All your growth is around Perth and the mining towns in the desolate outback. There, it is true, there is a boom, but so there is a boom in San Juan province (which used to be dirt poor compared to Mendoza, a sister province), but in the last 15 years with the mining they have made up a lot of ground

And I, unlike you, still admit my flaws, I still don't have such a command of the other languages as too seemlessly switch from one to the other, though I am getting there. I still need some degree of concentration to redact correctly and recall the correct vocabulary. It's much easier today than 12 months ago. I have no doubts than in another 12 months I will defending Argentina across 5 language spectrums worldwide. And hopefully by 2015 in Mandarin as well.

    @58

Perhaps. Thankfully Argentina has extricated herself from trade with enemies and cultural exchange, and is self-contained. So if YOUR country dissapeared tomorrow, we would only find out through twitter or Fotolog.

There seem to me two major possibilities, both of which actually cast Cristina and her government in a good light. Either she's guilty, in which case it shows the rule of law is in better shape than the anti-Cristina trolls would have you believe and the ruling party doesn't see its own people as above the law. Or as Captain Poppy says at #44...

“She was problably setup, but at least it shows they are starting to fall. The justice system is telling kirchnerites to kiss off”

...she's been set up by oligarchic elements. Though unlike Poppy I wouldn't see that as a good thing!!!

There goes the runny nostril once again bleating like a goat and centering the discussion on himself......why? All because he is totally incapable of discussing the topic at hand....the corruption of the kirchner regime. No one is going to allow the diversion od the topic. I and many others say is nostril is Argentina's great defense........surrender now rather than dying a long and painless death. As you continue to post your nonsensical drivel that is totally unrelated all because you lack the capacity to defend the regime from the topic of the article. Your easy out is to claim that you do not discuss domestic issues with foreigners. But the real matter at hand is that you are totally incompetent to defend the regime of it's criminal activities, disastrous policies, if that's what you can call them, and the total neglect of Argentina's people and infrastructure. Let's hear the self proclaimed Messiah, aka nostalldamus hurl some insults and make more nonsensical statements how everyone is stupid and undeserving of a response. Momma must be so proud she raised a self anointed defender of Argentina.

It continues to flatter itself thinking the world hates Argentina, yet the world hardly cares. The justice system of Argentina is starting to take shape and not allow the fascist regime to continue spreading it's cancerous infection. Now they really need to be going after the VP bobo a dodo. Asslips answer to his corruption is to expropriate his business. Of course in this case, the argentine government reimbursed the business owner millions, in this case, VP bobo a dodo. His business appears to be the only business stolen that has been compensated. Speaks volumes to the level of corruption that runs rampant the the fascist kirchner regime.
Call me idealistic, but they say every dog has it's day and I am confident that the kirchner dog will soon be licking more than her wounds.
