President Cristina Fernandez (CFK) as expected made the welcoming ceremony for the Argentine frigate ARA Libertad (retained in Ghana for 78 days) into a ‘sovereignty and dignity’ political rally including the support of 20.000 militants, mostly bused in by political organizations, in which she blasted hedge funds, ‘global social predators’ and warned that through extortion and force nobody is going to obtain anything from Argentina. 6. I think they are very worried the checkbook has dried up and has brought the support along with it.

The current crisis is they are 20 shiploads short of the LNG they need for 2013. They can't afford what Brazil and Japan are paying for them.

The electrical grid is held together with spit and twine and needs U$60MM in immediate repairs in Z Norte. But the electric companies can't even pay salaries! And all the euip they need must be imported.

Gonna be hard to blame the blackouts on someone else when the gov't owns the companies.

Effectiveness of political policies doesnt mean shit at this point. Its all about deception and manipulation now. The truth isnt important. Say and do whatever it takes to keep people dependent, distracted and bought. Its just a performance. Blatant lies? Doesnt matter. People are irrational and believe what they want to to believe. The economy is well and truly screwed. Phenomenal 25 -30 % and rising inflation and increasing value of the dollar and its associated effects cant go on forever. There will be a severe readjustment at some point soon. What a mess. Its probably going to kick off this year.

As usual, after an event like this, I have to go out and remove the political BS off my house. Today was no exception. I actually like removing the cute CFK slogans. Many people stop, watch and ask questions; makes them think for change. By the way, who is it that issues the cans of paint? I know the little K-rodents don't buy them themselves.

    @18

I wondered that when I was there last year. Paint isnt cheap! The government are paying for the paint. You see massive pro government slogans everywhere on peoples homes, libraries, schools. Overnight a 30 foot slogan will appear sprayed quickly on the side of a school wall. You name it they don' t care. And from what I saw it outnumbers anti government slogans by about 10 to 1 which goes to show how hysterical and insecure they are. Its obvious that its organised because there are only 2 or 3 slogans repeated everywhere. Every street in everytown defaced by the government with the public's money. A pathetic way to run a government.

At least in Cuba, where communism and a totalitarian state makes no pretence and declares itself as such, the government erects monuments and constructs billboards for slogans, rather than deface homes, public, or now, privately owned, buildings.

Well there was one RG poster who actually believed that the British ran the world, and that the US and the UN were puppets, and it was only a matter of time before we revealed our true intentions.

It's typical of certain parts of Argentina to blame all of their troubles, especially the self-inflicted ones, on others. Because of this they are completely unable to learn from their mistakes, hence why they're always voting crooks in who rob them blind, and why the Argentine economy is nose-diving every decade.

You see it's not THEIR fault, so it must be the evil British Pirates or the evil Inperialistic USA.

They never learn, and from the looks of it, they never will.

Just think that Moreno contracted sufficient busses to transport 20.000 “militants” to Mar del Plata. I've heard that the price per capita was ARS$ 450.00 so the the government spent something in the region of US$ 2.000.000 of our money to move these slackers so that they could wave flags and shout for a couple of hours and consume a sausage sandwich or two!!!!!!!

Add to that almost another US$ 1.000.000 for the contract of the luxury plane for CFK's trip to Cuba, the UAE and Vietnam. This bloody woman is too damned expensive for us!!!!!!

Its pathetic and so wrong to spend all this money transporting 20 000 militants to Mar del Plata. Its not far from BA and greater BA. People could have gone there by their own accord. On top of that there are already 100 000s there on holiday. The government couldnt be sure that enough people would turn up to actively support them and were worried about anti CFK demonstrators (lets call them pro democracy supporters from now on). Pathetic.

“We are happy that the ship has returned, that goes without saying, but I don’t know if it was appropriate to hold such a grand party using a budget that all of us Argentines have to pay for.
Mainly though, because of the fact that the return of the ship came amid an international scandal, where we were embargoed for having debts with the world,” Macri told reporters.

One of the few Argentine leaders that relaizes this is not a reason to celebrate being a worldwide embarrassment.

@52 No disrespect to anyone but I kinda hope you don't give money. I've heard enough sob-stories and details of businesses I might want to invest in to last a lifetime.

I am not hard-hearted (actually, I probably am) but other than treating friends to an occasional night out as thanks for their help, or sometime taking someone along on a trip when I need a companion, I just think they have to find their own way.

In Argentina it is tough because they are encouraged to have developed world aspirations whilst never really having the ability to achieve them. I still think one good and powerful leader could change the fortunes of that country.

The National Government repudiated the “militaristic threats” made by the Prime Minister of Britain, David Cameron, who said he was “ready to fight” to maintain colonial rule over the Falkland Islands. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the Prime Minister to “stop using legitimate and peaceful demands” made by Argentina in international forums “to continue supporting the arms industry, rather than alleviate crisis experiencing social Europe ”.

The response of the Palacio San Martín Britain insists that meets demand “the obligation to accept the resolutions of the United Nations to resolve the matter peacefully Falklands”.

“The aggressiveness of the words of British Prime Minister confirm the complaint filed by the Republic of Argentina to the United Nations about the militarization of the South Atlantic and the possible presence of nuclear weapons introduced by the colonial power,” said Foreign Ministry.

During an interview with the BBC, Cameron said it was “absolutely essential to have jets and troops stationed in the islands,” and stressed that his country “is one of five defense budgets in the world.”

Therefore, the portfolio of Minister Héctor Timerman order British Prime Minister “not use legitimate and peaceful demands” that Argentina was “against the usurpation of part of our territory and against colonialism as an excuse to continue to support the industry of weapons instead of alleviating social crisis currently affecting Europe. ”

@58 as i said before on the other thread dickhead go on you tube and actually listen to the interview instead of making a complete dick of yourself as usual Quote“I get regular reports on this entire issue because I want to know that our defences are strong, our resolve is extremely strong.” Asked whether Britain would fight to keep the islands, he replied: “Of course we would, and we have strong defences in place on the Falkland Islands, that is absolutely key, that we have fast jets stationed there, we have troops stationed on the Falklands.” unquote NO mention of colonial rule.
Again i ask you why we have strong defences in the Falklands (there are no malvinas).................1982 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you saying that KFC / TMBOA / Ol' Turkey Neck / The Harpy is a man??? No wonder you never see Timerman and KFC in the same photo!

LOL!! I think you might be right. She is more of a man than you or me.She has hairs on her chest you know..... All the way down to her w*lly!!!

    58 Raul

The response of the Palacio San Martín Britain insists that meets demand “the obligation to accept the resolutions of the United Nations to resolve the matter peacefully Falklands”.

There you go again with Argentina Demands and KFC insists...blah, blah, blah. The matter of the Falklands can never be settled peacefully thanks to thick headed, goose steeping, all-but-in-name Nazi / Argentine attitudes to the Islanders.
The whole world saw your “Peaceful solution” back in 1982 thank you very much. Locking up the entuire population of Goose Green, deporting “Troublesome” Islanders, planting hand grenades in school desks, laying unmapped mine fields, using all of Port Stanley as a big, open cess-pit for your troops.....NO!!

You had your chance... Remember the old phrase “You only get one chance at making a first impression” well, guess what? 1982!! Now the islanders want nothing to do with you.

So the Falklands issue HAS been solved. The Islanders want to remain British AND they have a garrison to help them remain British. So I guess that that means that you can take your “demands” and your “Insists” and your “orders” and stick them up your 'Arris.

    @66too
You have something there, perhaps the official FO line to her rants should be. “HMG has no comment to make regarding Argentinas last statement. HMG considers the matter of the Falkland Islands was resovlved in 1982.”

Nothing more, each and every time a brief statement, “HMC has no comment to make regarding Argentinas last statement. HMG considers that the matter was resolved in 1982.”

Each and every time, nothing more.

Excellent post, couldn't have put it better myself.
“Demands” & “lnsists” are among their favourite words.
Gives the general idea of their “schoolyard bully” mentality.
lndeed 1982 decided it all. They had their big chance & they dropped the ball.
    No second chances, amigos.
Too true, reality check, the matter is resolved.

Have you noticed that it's also true of the La Campora posters on here too? Not only do they make mistakes.... But they keep on making the same mistakes!!

Hard to believe that no one, NO ONE in KFC's government has stopped to think “Hang on a minute, we've tried this before and it didn't work then, why are we doing it again?”

Oh and Reality Check? LOve that statement man, love it!! They should have it made into flash cards to hold up at the UN when laughing boy Timerman goes off on one.

#63 thats no news to me, you will surely never meet anyone at all if you never get out of your moms basement. Have you considered that the friends you have lie about being Argentine.
#64 we support a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina how long do you think it would take for a nuclear war to end ? And who will win? If we tested on islas Malvinas Argentina ?
#65 islands Malvinas Argentina are not negotiable, and the fakland holdings can go back to UK asap. We already have a big corporation like YPF, What's the beef? I am proud of CFK she is the best president Argentina had in 49 years.
#66 we have it in our constitution Islas Malvinas Argentina, the fakland holding vote came in too late. We might also vote in Argentina in march to show that we don't want Malvinas Argentina to be British. Who's vote do you trust 300 British or 40 million Argentine?
#67 lol don't be silly this will last for hundreds of generations, I look forwards for Argentina to build a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina before 2020 and build a mining and fishing town in Antarctica Argentina in the same frame of time.
#68 that's what Jewish said about Palestine and the planes fell out of the sky, all I can say is bring you parashute if you are not Latin american and bring your own water and food.
#69 trust me no one has tryed it, I am cheering for Argentina to do well without any financial help because any financial help goes to a Swiss bank account to help IMF and WTO blood suckers.
#70 she make me feel proud when she speaks to the people, she has my support at least she is not arming terrorists in the middle east or letting children by executed by a automatic weapons. I wish people had ethics and morals.

“Who's vote do you trust 300 British or 40 million Argentine?”

Seriously, you don't know the answer to that one? What is this? Some kind of Star Trek bullsh*t, the needs of the many outwiegh the needs of the few? well, let me enlighten you on that.

1/ There are 3,000 British in the Falklands. Not 300

2/ 40 million wrongs do not make a Right

3/ If it is written in your constitution that the Falklands Islands are Argentine, then your constitution is a lie.

4/ It is not just the British that would agree with me, there are plenty of other nations in the world that are willing to take the word / vote / opinion of 1 British person, over the word / vote / opinion of 40 million Argentinians. Other nations have seen what liars / cheats you are. They also know you would sell your own mothers for the right price and can not be trusted with anything.

5/ what of the lands that you have stolen from your neighbours? Are you going to show “Good faith” and return them to their rightfull owners??

6/ “ I wish people had ethics and morals”...... You say, while wanting to “Ethically cleanse” the Falklands..........clown.

“ I am as I am, I don’t lie, I don’t cheat, I care for the motherland, for the flag and this I will continue for fight for wherever I have to be”

Let's just objectively examine what she said here...

” I am as I am“ - nothing to add
” I don’t lie“ - with a successful career as a legal eagle, made millions, lies about malvinas, lies about UN resolutions, lies about everything nearly
”I don’t cheat“ - YPF $520 million offshored to a personal wealth account, $2.3 billion routed to her son in La Campora for 'new planes'
”I care for the motherland, for the flag“ - the Reichskriegsflagge
”I will continue for fight for wherever I have to be” - probably in exile.

~69.3M in Nazi Germany, ~3.8M Danes in 1940.

Great speech, and a brilliant dose of politics delivered in the usual classy way. Great to see her fighting Scioli, can't imagine she'll just hnd over to him because he's a Peronist. She's so right that the haters are hypocrites and a President would be hypocritical to try to please everyone. Its just she pleases the sectors that most Presidents opress (as Scioli most likely would) and angers those who most Presidents (and definately Scioli) would appease - the banksters, hedge funders and vultures. And she's winning, don't take my word for it, just look at those lovely pictures of her with the ship =)
