Opposition leader Enrique Capriles accepted Venezuela’s high court sentence endorsing the postponement of President Hugo Chavez inauguration on Thursday and the ruling that the cancer-stricken leader and his administration remained in office, since “as president re-elect there is no interruption of performance of duties”.     Well he doesn't have many options after the coup.

    It is interesting though that Venezuela is effectively in limbo because everyone in power is too scared to actually do anything.

    This is an every-day situation in dictatorships and this new style of “elected dictatorships”, any one who makes a descision has a 50/50 chance of being wrong in the eyes of the “Boss”, therefore no one makes a descision!!!!!!

    The same goes for the “dictocracy” in Argentina, when CFK is out of town or out of her mind, no one dares to decide anything, so nothing gets done. Witness the looting before Xmas!!!!!

    I think it is mostly a case of giving the Chavistas enough rope to hang themselves. There is a good chance they will selfdestruct without Chavez.

    Simone, I like your coind words and phrases....“dictocracy” and “elected dictators”.....they are so very true to form. Fear is a strong motivator to act or not to act. Thats works in both dictocracies and democracies.
