LOL! They will need to get a handwriting expert on that. Or maybe she made it up like her law degree.

I suspect the stunned look was the realisation that CFKC is truly barking mad. They probably made soothing noises whilst keeping one eye on their nearest exit.

@3 her law degree was not made up, she had a hugely successful career in law that earned up upwards of $500mil in offshore funds. She said so at Harvard.

Oi, CFK, that's nothing: I met Stuart “stewpot” francis in the early eighties outside the orchard theatre in dartford and not only did he sign my programme but also gave me a “ooh, i could crush a grape” badge which I still have. Me 1- CFK nil.

So, will we ever see this “political testament?” And, what will CFK do with this? How will it be used? Why would she mention it if it were not to be used? Don't like this....

I think Frank is right, she will claim he nominated her as the President of South America with all Venezuelan oil to be given to CFKC. Or some other such nonsense. Of course, it will have no legal value whatsoever but the Eternal Widow will milk it for all she can. An excuse to stay is Widow Weeds for another few years; bonus.

@12 KFC seems to spend most of her days talking to dead or semi-dead people. Is there a reason for this or why she shuns the company of the living?

Her role as 'feeder' seems to be leading to her son's demise too. It's only a matter of time before he gets type-2 diabetes or some other disease that results from chronic obesity.

    Quite a strange lady.

Mainly she likes to talk with dead people because their questions are easy to answer. Live people tend to ask difficult questions!!!!!!!!

The info about the oil industry is compelling. More reserves than Saudi Arabia but a declining production due to....um....er.....incompetence by the look of it.

Of course it's hand-written. CFK has read all those murder mysteries and knows that all typewriters can be identified. The testament may never be seen. So much easier to forge something no-one can see. “Of course God Chavez gave his views on plasma particle propulsion technology.” It came about because of a joint project between arsieland and vfuckit. It all belongs to US. We'll sue. Don't bomb us or we'll sue you twice!

@21 Your reading comprehension isn't up to scratch, and you're showing that you never ever attended a debating society.

Welsh wizard said “there is yet to be an example of a nationalised oil industry which increases production over a prolonged period of time...”. You then responded with “more than 70% of the Worlds Oil reserves have been nationalized in the last few decades”

Your response has no relation to the topic which is the efficiency and production of nationalised companies. It's common knowledge that nationalised companies have traits such as lack of efficiency, mainly caused by laziness. Any political figure or MBA student knows this.

So, you should probably rethink your response providing statistics about production and efficiency of nationalised oil companies, rather than just citing an unrelated Wikipedia page.

An academic, you are clearly not.

#13 I rather have CFK talking to the dead then the English people making terrorist and murdering innocent Muslim women and children, I guess the English people like to see innocent people being murdered, while CFK does everything she democratically can to prevent theft by brits in Argentina.
#14 I guess you talk from experience. I didn't even know you could talk to the dead , isn't that evil and satanic?
#15 that is why Venezuela will benefit from running their own oil production, practice makes perfect and perfect can be rented out to other nation like Argentina.
#17 let me just say that unlike US and UK we don't give up that easy, that's why we give nationalization another chance, if it doesn't work for USA and UK maybe it is because you are all inept.
#18 you must come from a country that allows people to walk into the a surgery room while an operation is in progress. Thank God Cuba is not like USA and sick people take priority over the camera man and reporters, I thought the murder of the UK princess ended that goofy attitude by the English people.
#19 no need for any explanation and the only thing you need to know is that we Argentines love CFK and support her 100%.
#20 the only dead man walking I see here is the english man digging their own finacial grave in Latin America.
#22 lol thats easy to prove, Libya national oil production grew under Gaddafy, Iraq production grew while under Saddam and Saudi Arabia production grows under the king. About you get informed before asking others for prove of anything. I don't like making people look stupid unless they really are.

CFK is a close friend of Chavez. He is dying. I am appalled that she did not give the greatest gift, her presence, to a dying person, that she was the one who declined to see him. This tells us alot about her character. Shame on her.

'she was the one who declined to see him. '

This is her 'lie of the day'. Up until she decided to trot out this 'testament ' the word from Caracas and Havana was that the Chavez family wouldn't let her near him, most likely fearing that she would grab him by the goolies and force him to sign Venezuala over to her.

I don't know what sources this despicable article is based on but after spending some considerable time researching its claims across all English language news I could find and some Spanish I could translate too, I found no corroboration whatsoever for the idea that Cristina just changed her mind at the last minute because she “wanted to remember the strong and healthy Chavez”. Some were saying that she eventually didn't see him personally because he's in a delicate recovery stage and not taking visitors (ie its no personal snub by or to either of them, just medical good sense) but most reports seemed to report on the visit as having happened. Perhaps that just means her meeting the family, going to the hospital and leaving her gifts and solidarity; perhaps thats all that she was ever certain to do as a visit when she announced she was going to Cuba, with meeting the patient always dependant on the medical advice? Also remarkably little commentary except here on the “forever” tweet, which this article insinuates as an acceptance of Chavez's impending death and/or a fit of pique from Cristina; of course the Spanish, “Hasta siempre”, is a rather famous Cuban slogan, so it was more likely just a pithily respectful farewell, no?

As British_Kirchnerist just stated, there is a pathetic amount of news about Chavez. There are no real government announcements by anyone involved, including the Venezuelan government, Cuban government and Argentinean government.

The amount of secrecy involved over some minor cancer treatment is at odds with the amount of time that Chavez and Cristina usually expound upon issues and problems.

Thank you British_Kirchnerist for highlighting the disdain by which the Venezuelan people (and also the Argentinian people) are being treated by their leaders. If it wasn't for the secrecy and dearth of news, there would be no need for Mercopress or others to build news out of so little.

Perhaps Assange can get wikileaks to find some information from the Ecuadorian Embassy.

    @21

Hi Think. Happy Christmas and New Year and I hope life is treating you well. When I say nationalised we are talking fully nationalised here. Even the doyens of oil nationalisation (the Russians) belatedly realised that you need to have some level of corporate support and the best way of incentivising this is by giving that corporate an equity chunk so that they have an earn out ability. Almost every single “nationalised” oil company is actually a joint venture of some description between public and private entities (see Brazil, Russia etc). So my point was that every fully nationalised oil company has seen a reduction in production after nationalisation which is why they have then sold off part of the company to an oil company who have then been able to increase production has they have the technical capability to do so.

    @24

Not just UK and US, see above.

    Chavez' 'Political Testament'

This is the Argentinian (Catholic) equivalent of Mount Sinai and Moses' bringing down of the Tablets of Stone.
(“There were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud”).

The Chavez Testament will assume God-like significance, and will ensure that CFK becomes 'The Daughter Of God' to her people.

Thanks for the kind words on my considered comment; I'd just like to make clear I was NOT at all criticising the discretion and privacy which is rightly being afforded Chavez's operation and recovery, just the frenzied exploitation of it to create rumours and jump to worst possible conclusions by the right wing opposition and, on this thread, especially the Cristina-haters. Cristina's solidarity visit to the hospital is most admirable; whether she got to meet him or not I imagine says more about the exact stage of his recovery than their personal and political relations which we already know to be very good
