Everyone was out to remove Berlusconi. 143 legal actions brought against him, and he was found innocent in all. The spectre of another “ Greece default ” was a convenient “ straw man ” justification to remove him by the EU.

What has Monti done so far ? Nothing positive occurred with Monti in over one year. Other than Merkel, who apparently engineered this coup, no one but the technocrats will work with Monti. Not even the bankers.

Berlusconi is popular because he can work with all parties, which Monti cannot. And Berlusconi gets the job done. His return in the continued economic crisis is good for Italia. I'm all for his return.

Berlesconi's return.... It will give us all a laugh! It's amazing the sort of transparent tossers and criminals Rgs respect and elect. They are their own worst enemies. If you talk to educated Italians they think he is an idiot.

I think you need to be Italian or understand the Italian mentality to understand this. In an English speaking democracy he would be laughed out of town.
