Argentines are lucky because they have a great Pope, but “if the Pope is Argentine, God is Brazilian”, said Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff on Wednesday following her half hour meeting with Francis and asked by Argentine reporters her impression of the new pontiff. Read full article

    Good for Brazil.

The Pope will enjoy visiting “God's country” as opposed to depressed Argentina.

No need for Brazilians to go to confession any more as they will now have a freephone upstairs to the Boss himself

A grown adult arguing about the nationality of a mythical creature, that was created in mankind’s image, goes bump in the night, and seeks revenge in an imaginary afterlife? … mmmmm okay

According to David Bowie, “God is an American” (you've got to see him perform that live- one of the essential pleasures of life).

I think I'd have to nominate George Osborne (and if, by the skin of his teeth, it isn't him, it is only because he isn't actually clever enough to be Satan incarnate).

What's with this conversation? Everyone knows that God is British, specifically English. You have only look at production of the Bible. First there was what is known as the Tyndale Bible around 1525. The first translation into a proper language from the original gibberish. Then 1539/40 and the Great Bible. The Bishops' Bible of 1568. And finally, the King James Bible finished in 1611. Who could doubt that God was ensuring promulgation of the Word in his own language, that is gradually becoming the language of the world. All around the world, people are having to give up their local gibberish and speak English.

Dilma does a reasonably good job.
The only thing she probably do not want to risk is a cut in Government salaries. And that is really what must be done, to get rid of most of these incompetent old farts

    Conks you are wrong.
God is SCOTS or at least he has been since the dastarly English returned Abrahams Pillow aka the Stone of Scone to Scotias fair land. He must be Scots otherwise he wouldnt have given his faithfull the art of making the water of life = uisge in Gaelic.
If Scotland gets its independence one of the first problems that that kelt Mr Salmond will face is a demand from the Israeli Premier for the return of Abrahams pillow to the land of Judah

#19 Well if he exists, God created the economy, so you could say he's the best economist =) And the economic teachings of Jesus are very appealing to me =)

@20 God created man and instilled in him free will.

Don't blame Brazil's and Argentinas's failing economies on God. That's just plain unfair to God.

Not everything is his fault. For instance your lower than usual level of intelligence is not God's fault. I'd blame that squarely on genetics - wouldn't even take into account the environment on that one.

@@18 kilty Kirtshy You are of course correct about Jacobs pillow. While we are at it the Orkneys and Shetlands really belong to Norway on the same basis that the Falklands “belong” to Argentina
That idea sends th Scot gnats ballistic as only 8% of the people voted for ScotNats at the last election
Look up Henry Sinclair, premier Jarl of Norway and Earl of Orkney. If his story is true we should have an Orcadian in the White House and not some Kenyan Irishman by the name of O'Bama!

#24 Interesting, getting into some Templar conspiracy theories here =) But even if its all true, why does that mean America should have an Orcadian President 600 years on; after all, Christopher Columbus wasn't a Kenyan either! Or toput it another way, times change =)

@14 Please don't call me “conk”. “Conqueror” is in tribute to HMS Conqueror. One of Her Britannic Majesty's submarines. Responsible for the “removal” of an aggressor. And for the argie “navy” fleeing to its ports, never to venture out again. HMS Conqueror is a very proud name. Please give it proper respect.
@17 Please note my comments above. And God cannot be Scots. God is a stern god. How could a god be stern in a skirt? I hesitate to suggest the identity of the faithful of a Scots god. Cross-dressers? Trans-genders? Transsexuals? A real god must depend on the normal and the brave. The English!
@22 Of course you're the “wrong” race. Don't you represent yourself as Scottish? A skirt-wearer who likes to eat horse feed? Is that normal? And you try to justify yourself by including the word “British”. Foreign evasions, misdirection and lies. Do you even have a “race”? Or are you just a mongrel?

@31 Conqueror I am perfectly aware that HMS Conqueror was referred to as conks throughout the 82 conflict.
So who do you take your soubriquet from?
That French Viking Duke of Normandy who invaded England in 1066?
As to God in a skirt, you may have noticed when the last time you went to church that our clerical bretheren wear a surplice (or surplus; take it how you will) when they get dressed up.
So of course God is a Scot
With the latest scandals in the church, maybe the expression of chasing a skirt has taken on a new meaning?

Take your God and stick it. “Normal” people don't live in your world. Just bitter old people who can't understand how the world has moved on.

You are sady mistaken if you think you are “normal”, just common.
