Yawn, old Hector is at it again with more nonsense nobody cares about.

It must be time for more Argentine bad news, so lets distract the lemmings with another nationalistic and empty load of words!

“Polynesia's pro-independence party asked for the territory to be put back on the UN list when it controlled the government in 2011.
But the pro-independence lost an election this month and the government is now controlled by a party that backs the existing autonomy granted by France ..... The territory's assembly passed a resolution on Wednesday calling for the UN vote to be postponed ..... The Netherlands, United States and Germany said that the General Assembly should have taken account of the election in French Polynesia which kicked the independence party out of power.”

So this was hardly the UK taking a stance the principle of self-determination,. But it's nice to see Argentina coming out so strongly in favour of it.

Argentina is 100% in favour of the inalienable right of self-determination of PEOPLES .........

Individual English Crown Subjects squatting on some Islands 15,000 km from London, England; implanted and mantained in place by an English military invasion and ocupation DO NOT constitute a PEOPLE.

I am ok with the Argentine logic as long as it is applied across the board.

If only native people are allowed self-determination, and I am happy to use Hectors rather vague use of 300AD as a guide, we can hold elections tomorrow.

The Falklands would have an electorate of zero, as would Diego Garcia. The native Polynesians may or may not vote for independence.

However, the more interesting votes would be in Argentina where those remaining Amerindians who weren't slaughtered could vote to remove the Spanish and Italian implanted population put in place and maintained by a Spanish military invasion and occupation.

    More fuckwittery from Hector methinks.

@4 Argieland, of course, knows all about double standards. Argies ARE Spanish, Italian, German squatters. A bunch of mongrels implanted by a largely Spanish military invasion and genocide of the native people. Maintained by a totalitarian dictatorship that has committed virtually every crime in the book. Belligerence, corruption, depravity, genocide, larceny, mendacity, murder, nepotism, perversion, xenophobia all spring to mind. More than 10,000 km from Madrid, Spain, more than 11,000 km from Rome, Italy and nearly 12,000 km from Berlin, Germany, these racist mongrels do not constitute a PEOPLE.
@7 Yep. In the south-eastern area of South America, there is a bunch of criminal, genocidal, racist mongrels. They think they are a “country”. Nobody argues anymore because they cry a lot....... Oh, and for some reason, nobody trusts them or lends them money!

So nice to see that Argentina supports self-determination for those entities on the UN list of non autonomous territories.

As not a single UN resolution has removed this right from the Falkland Islands and the UN Charter supports the “principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples” ergo Argentina cannot but support and recognise the right of self determination for the Islanders.

For those less enlightened members on here who spend a little too much time crafting sock puppets to troll, please quote the internationally recognised definitions of PEOPLES that the UN adheres to.

So to those that are too retarded to differentiate between English and British, I lay down this challenge: show me the UN recognised definition of 'a people' and quote the relevant international law or treaty that pertains to that definition.

Or you could just work harder on a new sock puppet because your current ones are a little threadbare.

    Hey Think

On another thread I posed a question that you have been deliberately ignoring.

That question is: just how long does a person and their families have to have lived in a country to be considered a citizen?

You refused to answer that question, because you knew it would destroy you so-called argument.

Are you now also going to ignore Anglotino's question about what the UN considers the definition of PEOPLE?

Well you will as you know that it would destroy your so-called argument (such as it is).

Tell you what, why don't you resort to your usual tactics of insulting people, then deflecting onto a completely random topic? The way you usually do when losing the argument.

Or maybe you'll just continue to ignore the questions posed as you know that you have no answer that backs up your pathetic and ill-thought out claims.

As for this article, the only country showing double standards is Argentina.

Self-determination is a fundamental human right as enshirned by the UN Charter. The people of French Polynesia democratically voted in a non-independence party. They don't need to be on the decolonisation list, and should they ever wish to break ties with France, all they need to do is hold a referendum.

That is true self-determination, allowing the people of territories to CHOOSE for themselves how they wish to be run, and which countries (if any) that they wish to associate with.

Perhaps we should put Tibet on this list too? And Taiwan. Because they truly have been 'colonised' by the Chinese, and could do with being 'decolonised', by allowing the PEOPLE to choose their own future.

By the way, the UN has NEVER defined what CONSTITITES a PEOPLE, so therefore there is no way that they can actually say whether the Falkland Islanders are 'a people', but then they cannot say whether Argentines are 'a people' either.

Just because the UK doesn't cry, scream and shout to make itself heard doesn't mean that the government isn't doing something.

What good will it do Tibet for all countries in the world to break relations with China? Will it suddenly force China to leave? Of course it wouldn't. In fact it would cause China to dig it's heels in firmer in a defensive posture. The better way is the softly, softly approach. I know, I know you Argentines prefer the scream, cry and stamp your foot approach, but as you know that really doesn't work.

And it certainly wouldn't work with China. You have to understand Chinese culture and traditions before opening your mouth and putting your foot in it. China is traditional, it believes in respect. Therefore you must approach China with respect and not demands. Slowly China is changing. One day single party rule will end, and the People's Republic of China will truly be representative of ALL of the people.

The UK, USA, EU and many others are slowing encouraging China towards this future. A future where one day, the Tibetans and Taiwanese will get their right to autonomy and full independence, should they wish it.

Argentina's foreign policy screams and shouts, and DEMANDS that people listen to you. And that is when countries laugh at you and ignore you. And they will never RESPECT you.

China certainly doesn't respect the Argentine version of diplomacy. Too loud, too disrespectful, and too emotional.

None of these things are liked in China.

    @43 - travellingscotsman

It seems that the time has come for the UN to rid itself of the C24 as it is incapable of serving any useful purpose. It openingly ignores the wises of people that they are suppose to be enpowering. One would think that the UN does not have this much time on their hands. But then again with failure after failure of the UN to remove the decline and abject poverty from SA, civil wars in the mid east and Africa, sex slave trade, drug trade, the rise of Dictocracies, I suppose they need to shift attention to other areas.

Think - the UN recognises the Falklanders as the 'people' of the Falkland islands ..... every year when they appear before the C24. Recognition indeed.

So yes - the Falkland islanders have the right to decide their own future. Argentina, on the other hand, has no rights concerning the Falklands at all.

This is another non-story. Even the people of French Polynesia recognise that being on the C24's list is hardly a step forward. I know - I've been taliking to one of them.

Argentina - in the story above - mentions a revision of the decolonisation process at the UN - that is probably true although not quite as Tinman would have you believe. The C24's funding is under threat as they have not achieved anything in nigh on 20 years. Ban Ki-moons statement earlier this year was a threat too - achieve or change. In their current form they can do neither. And without the cooperation of the Administering Powers they har hog-tied.

France was the last AP they was prepared to deal with the C24.

Well done the UNGA - you just shot yourselves in the foot.

@51 It was well-known Nestor and Cristina fought rival camps with the only common denominator being a love of money and power. Cristina has had her lovers, just as she has whilst grieving and wearing widow's weeds. What I don't understand is that most Argentines are fully aware of it but still simper at the 'poor widow me' act. It is almost as if they needed an excuse to vote for her last time. Fortunately the sympathy has waned to a point where people I know who supported and excused her behaviour actually hate her now.

Logic, truth, forget it. This is about resentment, which always leads to obsession if unresolved. Resentment towards Anglo-Saxons is centuries old, and what Argentina chooses to see is a remnant of the British Empire giving it the finger from a few hundred kilometer's away. The reality is the British are were the only group of humans who were willing to put in the neccessary effort to make the Falklands a viable place to live and that is why they're still there. That and Argentina' s refusal to see herself as anything other than a victim.

Nobody voted against the people of French Polynesia having the right to self-determination at all. Nobody (even Argentina) would deny these people the fundamental right to self-determination.

The question that was put to the UN General Assembly was whether French Polynesia should be put on the C24 list of territories to be decolonised.

Given that the PEOPLE OF FRENCH POLYNESIA recently voted that they didnt want to be “decolonised”, who exactly is ignoring their right to self-determination?

Total UK Hypocrisy that still committed to colonialism and imperialism century.

    Excellent complaint Timerman:
“The UK again shows their double standards regarding the right of peoples to self-determination” to vote against the resolution that benefits to French Polynesia, where in the case of the Falklands intended to “force the interpretation ”of that right.

“The United Kingdom requires the interpretation of the right to self-determination in the case of the Falklands, but denies the peoples of Polynesia and Chagos Colonial hypocrisy”.

As time passes it is evident English colonialism and imperialism century.

The truth is immutable and unchanging. The specificity of the Malvinas Question is that the United Kingdom occupied the islands by force in 1833, expelled the original population and did not allow their return, thus violating the territorial integrity of Argentina. Is ruled out then the possibility of applying the principle of self-determination, as its exercise by the islanders, cause the “disruption of the national unity and territorial integrity” of Argentina. In this regard it should be noted that Resolution 1514 (XV) “Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples” states in paragraph six that “Any attempt aimed at the partial or total disruption of the national unity and territorial integrity of a country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter ”.

@rual2 take a read of the following statement from The united States and then tell me your not stupid

“The United States strongly affirms the principle of self-determination enshrined in the United Nations Charter as one of the fundamental values of this organization.

The facts in this case are clear. The people of French Polynesia, through their democratically elected representatives, have made clear that they do not support this resolution. The newly-elected government, which takes office today, has notified the General Assembly that this resolution “ignores our autonomy and the will of our people.” We are surprised that the co-sponsors have continued with General Assembly action on this resolution given the will of the people it purportedly benefits.

For these reasons, the United States disassociates itself from consensus on this resolution”

Please pay particular attention to the following

“The people of French Polynesia, through their democratically elected representatives, have made clear that they do not support this resolution”

Similarly, I can come out with trite statements and, again, who cares ! It's only a game of calculated insults which does not affect relations between our countries. Just an observation...

I notice over the past few months (probably since March actually) that the RG posters have moved away from “1833 and all that” and now have shifted to the “question” of whether the Falklanders count as a “people” and therefore are covered by the UN charter.

I would take that as a tacit admission that their sovereignty claims have been tested and proved to be worthless (no doubt the ICJ would think the same)

So that makes any discussion about whether the Falklanders have a right to self determination fairly pointless. If they can't determine their own future who else can?

    Simples.

So what has this achieved for the people and the Argentina future imperialist?

First of the people have a new government and now wants to be part of France,
    This seems to be correct,

The previous government in 2011 asked to go onto the list,
    Why two years later,
But as that government is now out of power, then that is that, as they say,

But CFK and the tinman now knows they will get no support from the fantastic four,
And that may well hurt in time,

But the moral of the whole story seems to be the double standards=
Not of the four—but of Argentina,

    Still,
The result and future condition will remain the same,
CFK and the tinman will return to OZ,

And Argentina still will not get the British Falklands,
    Now or ever,
Thus proving that having a brown tongue does not guarantee you anything…lol

@95 Really? want to try your colonialism of the whole territory, Spanish slug? How about your attempts to conquer to the north. Patagonia. Nothing but imperialist, genocidal colonialism, slug.

@107 Well, yes, I can see your point. Most argies are total prats. I think I can confidently predict that “president” Mingeman will be cowering under his bed asking how he got into so many wars. As for CFK, I wasn't aware that she'd set her “bush” on fire. New thrill when two horses weren't enough, was it? Bad news for you, eh? For a one-inch dick, it would be like a vacuum. Can you offer pictures of you licking her ass? 2 pence each. If, IF, you are Scottish, I'll offer you a penny for each of your balls. No use to you, after all!

    @96 raul2

Your Argument is flawed, I will explain why...
Resolution 1514 - Paragraph 6 cannot be used to justify territorial claims, it is not it's purpose.

“6. Any attempt aimed at the partial or total disruption of the national unity and the territorial integrity of a country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.”

    'Self-determination versus territorial integrity
...A number of states have laid claim to territories, which they allege were removed from them as a result of colonialism. This is justified by reference to Paragraph 6 of UN Resolution 1514(XV), which states that any attempt “aimed at partial or total disruption of the national unity and the territorial integrity of a country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the Charter”. This, it is claimed, applies to situations where the territorial integrity of a state had been disrupted by colonisation, so that the people of a territory subject to a historic territorial claim are prevented from exercising a right to self-determination. This interpretation is rejected by many states, who argue that Paragraph 2 of UN Resolution 1514(XV) states that “all peoples have the right to self-determination” and Paragraph 6 cannot be used to justify territorial claims. The original purpose of Paragraph 6 was “to ensure that acts of self-determination occur within the established boundaries of colonies, rather than within sub-regions”. Further, the use of the word attempt in Paragraph 6 denotes future action and cannot be construed to justify territorial redress for past action.[50] An attempt sponsored by Spain and Argentina to qualify the right to self-determination in cases where there was a territorial dispute was rejected by the UN General Assembly, which re-iterated the right to self-determination was a universal right.'

What happened in 1833 was fully in compliance with international law. The term “territorial integrity” is part of modern law and therefore cannot be applied retroactively.
These issues I have addressed to you before, by your present response you have given a perfect example of viveza criolla. Of which seems to be the modus operandi of your nation, any deceit just to gain an advantage. I believe former Uruguayan president Jorge Batlle was absolutely correct when he said, “The Argentines are a mob of thieves, from the first to the last.”

Typical Argie self delusion again ! A Super Etandard firing an Exocet anti-ship missile fitted with a nuclear warhead. No such thing exists. Ponder on this thought, if your backward country ever tried anything like that, then the gloves would be off !
Buenos Aires would cease to exist, plus a random selection of your densely populated areas. Armageddon would be visited on you in spades !
However, the whole world knows that all you can do is whine and produce childish videos showing how “macho” you THINK
    you are.
Let us realistically examine your scenario.
Your obsolete aircraft would be detected leaving the Argentinian coast. A welcoming committee of Typhoons would be waiting for them about 100 miles out. Your pilots would be on a Kamikaze mission with no hope of success and certain death. Your C-130 tanker would not even see the aircraft that shot it down. Result RAF 1 -Argentina NIL and riots in BA - seemingly a not unusual occurrence.

Why don't you hold a referendum with this question.
“Should Argentina use nuclear weapons against the Falklands and accept that the UK would retaliate against Argentina using similar force”
I wonder if your population would share your views.

For starters, you lack the capacity to even realisitically consider that an option.
and secondly, even if you did, did you consider the ramifications of that action? How many people would die in Argentina taking out assets that could support the military.....power generation companies, railways, major raodways, airports...including Ezeiza and Newbury, water pumping stations, dams, what limited military bases you have, decrepit naval shil listing in their berths, not to mention La Casa Rosado and the number of drones scouting for the political leadership. Have you thought you ridiculous notion through? Obvious not. Thank God for the people of Argentina you are not leading the country. 128 and all coward indoctrinated fools,

The video reminds me of a last desperate attempt by a fading country to regain its former none existent glory,
Its sounds like the death knell of the argentine air force.

The video shows the free world what happened when people freely disagrees with the dictatorship,
And alas shows you cowards bombing your own territory, as you so call-claim

Typical, you agree with us or we bomb you ,
A once proud nation reduced to abusing and intimidating the tiniest of islands,
Of whom the people just wanted to live in peace, but Argentina being the local bully on the block had to show, not only south America but the world how tough you guys really are,

But the facts turned out to be so much different and humiliating for you,
Argentina shamed and embarrassed its self, and it lost to another tiny island people called the British,

Shamed and humiliated in front of south America and the world, you lost all self respect, and your neighbours now laugh at you, your navy sits rusting in dock and your air force rots on the runways,

Your army cant feed itself, you have turned from a nation to a squib of crying complainers to whoever will listen to you,
You are if fact a shameful disgrace and a childish nuisance to the rest of us,
And still you whip moan and cry, come on here acting the macho men from behind your Barbie doll,

Grow up and concentrate on your own fragile failing economy run by a self styled greedy incompetent government…

    #143...............Clyde15;
I was born in the small village of Strone, at the entrance to the Holy Loch, in Argyllshire in 1942.
Try looking it up on Google Earth.
This was a submarine base during the war and I could see the depot ship and submarines coming and going from the bedroom window. I can remember seeing the Queen Mary in battleship grey coming into Greenock. I can also remember seeing the X craft midget submarines which used to train in the loch.
From the 1960's the loch became base for the USN Polaris submarine fleet.
We moved to Glasgow at the end of the war when my father was demobbed from the RAF.
I grew up there, joined HM Customs and Excise in 1961 and worked in the greater Glasgow area until 1971 when I was posted to Johnny Walkers bonded warehouses in Kilmarnock.
I bought a house in Ayr and then transferred to the local excise office in Ayr in 1979 and worked there until I retired in 2000.
I have a few relations who are Ulster Irish and a few who are English - mainly from Tyneside.
Hobbies:-Growing alpine plants and rhododendrons, military aviation, photography, natural history - mainly bird watching, playing the guitar and wasting my time on the computer.

I was born in Moor Street, West Bromwich, England in 1946, in a very old terrace house, outside toilet, no bathroom, two up two down with an out-house.

This would be paradise to any of the argies presently living in tin shack slums with sewage running down the streets.

At the age of 8 (1954) we moved to a new council (intendencia) built house with three bedrooms, bathroom and separate toilet (both upstairs) with a lounge, dining room and adjoining kitchen / utility room with our washer in the one corner.

This would be much better than the average casa in argieland.

When I married my wife and I moved to our first house that we bought with a mortgage which was in Great Barr, Birmingham and overlooked the green belt with Barr Beacon, a famous landmark just 1.5 km away over the fields. Larger than average with three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, downstairs toilet and separate bathroom / shower space and toilet upstairs. Separate garage for my 6 cylinder car and my various big motorcycles which I had from the age of 16. My wife’s car and our caravan stayed on the drive until needed.

In 1986 we moved to the North West of England into a large five bedroom house paid for without a mortgage, very large lounge, large dining room, kitchen and linked two car garage for the various luxury cars I had and my wife’s cars, mainly Vauxhall Astra's (always new ones) but no caravan by then.

In early 2011 we moved to Uruguay. The only disappointment is the close proximity of probably the third worst government in the world just across the Plate.

More utter bull-shit as you cannot show under international law that “territorial integrity” was an applicable law in 1833. Since I've shown all the appropriate legal opinions in support of the UK's action to you, your revealed as a complete liar.

ICJ judge, Dame Rosalyn Higgins, wrote: “Attractive an aphorism though [self-determination] is, it still has to be said that the territorial issue does come first. Until it is determined where territorial sovereignty lies, it is impossible to see if the inhabitants have a right to self- determination” (Dame Rosalyn Higgins, Problems and Process - International Law and How We Use It, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1994)

The British jurist Rosalyn Higgins arrived at a similar conclusion when she pointed out: ”No tribunal could tell her [Argentina] that she has to accept British title because she has acquiesced to it But what the protests do not do is to defeat the British title, which was built up in other ways through Argentinas acquiescence.80“ There was therefore little doubt that Britain acquired title to the Falklands by extinctive prescription. In other words, it was in this mode that the strength of the British claims resided.
    80. Rosalyn Higgins, ”Falklands and the Law,” Observer, 2 May 1982.
The Falkland War : Britain versus the past...Daniel K, Gibran.

It is therefore not surprising that the General Assembly declared
in 1970 that the modem prohibition against the acquisition of territory by conquest should not be construed as affecting titles to territory created 'prior to the Charter regime and valid under international law'

Your connection is weaker and based on what? Proximity and two illegal invasions.

Hard to keep your lies straight if you give away too much information isn't it. You are exactly what we have come to expect from you.....

    No substance and low intelligence.

    El Maligno,

You have revealed more about yourself and the sort of character you are without honour civility.
Certainly, you are no gentleman, and you represent your country and your people as a hateful racist.
    You should feel shame.

Is this an example of how you would 'negotiate' honestly and constructively with the UK and the Islanders?

BTW, if you are from Argentina, you cannot be ' from' the Falkland Islands.

Nobody on Argentina ever was or is, because nobody from Argentina has ever lived there.

Poor angry and unhappy, El Maligno

Hey Jose, just one question. How many ”Malvinenses-malvinenses (born on the islands) that defend our argentine sovereignty to the UN itself“ have you got exactly?

And if this debate is now restricted to ”Malvinenses-malvinenses (born on the islands)” shouldn't you be shutting the fuck up yourself? And all the other Argentine posters here? (Notably the Scandinavian Circus Act). And I guess also your Ecuadorean stooge at the UN and this whole world that supports Argentina that we keep hearing about?

”Hey Jose, just one question. How many ”Malvinenses-malvinenses (born on the islands) that defend our argentine sovereignty to the UN itself“ have you got exactly?”

I think that if you check the answer to that question is one, a guy called Betts. He was, as I understand it, born on the Falklands, was pro Argentina in his views, was suspected of collaborating with the invaders in 1982 and got out at the first available opportunity when the British ejected the illegal invaders. CFK took him to the C24 committee last year, where he spoke. The whole charade can be viewed here:

You do indeed have someone who was born on the islands who supports the Argentine sovereignty claim. You are correct, HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO SPEAK, and his views should be taken into account by the UN.

He makes up 0.03% of the population of the Falklands, or less than 0.1% of those who meet your criteria of born in the falklands.

The POINT WE ARE MAKING..is the remaining 99.9% HAVE AN EQUAL “AUTHORITY TO SPEAK”.

    You DONT!!!

So, Alex Betts versus the ENTIRE REMAINING POPULATION...hmmm its a toughie.

Correct, not one Malvinense. This is a mythical animal which only exists in Argentinian imagination.

“ I was born somewhere in the territory of the Argentina Republic, between Jujuy to north, the South Pole to south, the Malvinas Islands and South Georgia to the east and the Aconcagua to west”.

You claim the South Pole as Argentinian territory along with anything else you can put a name to.
Have you put this formally to the United Nations ?
Are you going to evict the AMERICAN usurpers and pirates from this part of Greater Argentina.? What do you do if they say “eff off” ? Send Tinman to the UN bleating that “the whole world knows and agrees with us ” OR try an invasion to evict them ? I would love to see that one !

Really, you should join the REAL world, not your deluded version of it.

“but denies the peoples of Polynesia”

    No it hasn't.
The Polynesian people currently vote for a government that retains ties with France. Britain supports this position which is called Self determination. If the people there vote for independence France will comply.

    @96
“ the United Kingdom occupied the islands by force in 1833, expelled the original population and did not allow their return,”

The UK occupied the islands in 1765, a fact you ignore, but does not disappear just because you hide your head in the sand.

The UK did not occupy the islands by force in 1833 ( WRONG again Raul)as they were outnumbered by UP forces-they requested the UP to leave by letter-that is not use of force (ie with weapons).

You also forget that Pinedo's force refused to challenge Captain Onslow because most of them were British, (ie not born in the United Provinces of the River Plate).

The UK did not expel the original population, (WRONG again Raul) which were French (1764). The French left because the Royal families of Spain and France were interlinked-Britain did not kick out the French, the Spanish bought them out.
Also the UP military in 1832 were not the original population (WRONG again Raul)as they turned up in November 1832(they were there 3 months)-unless you are claiming the UP claim started from November 1832.
The civilian population were not expelled and others of Vernet's community (such as Brisbane) not on the Falkland Islands in January 1833, did return, (WRONG again Raul)and there was nothing to stop anyone returning until January 1834 as there was no British military presence till then.
The obvious reason why no UP military forces returned (there was nothing to stop them) is that they knew it was wrong to (the British had never dropped their claim).

Most of Pinedo's forces were British born because the United Provinces could not exist without British sailors, so they were hardly likely to return and fight against their own country were they?

In 1765 the UK illegally occupying the Malvinas Islands with a population that already existed in Port Louis. Say it than once, Pete.

Day like today,in the Malvinas Islands, marks the national day.
“No obstante algunas lloviznas de granizo y viento del oeste en Puerto Soledad se celebra el día patrio. Al amanecer, se hacen oír 3 cañonazos.
Los festejos comienzan al mediodía: asado con cuero y, luego tortas. A la tarde se tira al blanco. En el ocaso, vuelven a sonar 3 cañonazos y, enseguida, en el rancho del tonelero empieza con baile que durará hasta mañana lunes.”

“In 1765 the UK illegally occupying the Malvinas Islands with a population that already existed in Port Louis”
    Malvi.

1/-The Falkland Islands were not called the Malvinas in 1765.

The French called them the Malouines, and the British had called them the Falkland Islands since 1690.

2/-As the British claimed the Falkland Islands since 1690, their occupation of Port Egmont cannot be illegal, and they did not kick the French out of Port Louis either.

3/- The British did not occupy Port Louis in 1765, nor, as you say, did not use the population at Port Louis to occupy Port Egmont.

And just to make you clear, the Spanish weren't in the Falkland Islands in 1765, nor were Argentina, nor the Fair Winds/ Good Air Government, nor the United Provinces of the River Plate.

However, enjoy your national day, but please keep your imperialist ambitions to Argentina.

So its 203 years since a bunch of implanted Spanish Genocidal Colonialists decided they were going to use the right of self determination to stop calling themselves Spanish Genocidal Colonialists and start calling themselves various other things, finally ending up as “Argies”

They are of course still some of the “Spanish Genocidal Colonialists” which make up Latin America, but pretend that they are not.

    In 1810-1845

There was definately a sovereignty dispute with Spain
There was definately an implanted population - the Argies
There was definately a usurption from the AmerIndians
There was definately stolen lands by military might

so by Argie rules...how on earth was there claim to “self-determination” valid?

Of course by British rules, self determination is a fundamental right, hence it recognised the United Provinces, and was one of the first countries to do so. (the Falklands were never recognised and were empty so there was nobody to claim independence)

However, by Argie rules, Argentina doesn't and never should have existed...and the world would be a better place.
