Despite papal blessings, Brazil further cuts spending and growth forecast

Brazil is cutting spending for the second time in two months to help meet its fiscal target as it forecasts slower growth this year which was also confirmed according to the latest Central Bank survey. The economic data was announced while Brazil had its eyes and ears in Rio do Janeiro to receive Pope Francis. Read full article

    Desperation seems to be the order within Brazil.

    Why oh why is the liar Mantega still there spouting his rubbish? Anyone investing in Brazil is now facing a massive reduction in earnings due to this pathetic apology for a finance minister.

    But, not to be outdone the ‘planning minister’, surely an oxymoron given the chaos that is Brazil presently, has decided to cut back on travel and information technology....

    Brilliant, a massive country trying hard to join the big boys cuts back on information technology FFS. How are they expected to communicate now? Jungle drums?

    And I thought the cost of travel was one of the reasons for the protests?

    What they should start cutting is the Government salary scales. I'd 20% of what most of them are getting is ample.
