What they still have pots & pans left, Quick Cristina you obviously haven't run the economy into the ground & looted enough of their money if they can afford such luxury items. 4 more years should fix the problem. Vote Cristina

She needs a little more than a few pots and pans to get her attention. A noose and torches would be much more appropriate, unless she dissolves with water.

More than happy for her to remain President of Argyland. She's doing a good job and should be left to get on with it. My only criticism is that she should concentrate on home affairs rather than trying to change the UN and the rest of the World.

In spite of the reduced turnout it can't be good for her to have such a demonstration just before the election and her Rosario appearance may have backfired too (especially given her silence and no-shows on the Once rail accident etc.). I saw a heartbreaking video of a guy calling to people to stop wasting time attending to CFK and continue searching for his sister.

I wonder if the reduced turnout was because many people thought that they could protest more effectively by voting against her in a few days time? I can't imagine that the reduced turnout was because people felt that things were now improving.

    We shall see...

I suspect the reduced turnout was entirely due to the official mourning. People are always confused about whether or not protests have a place and if they would be disrespectful.

Personally, I don't think it is disrespectful to try to effect change that could prevent such tragedies in the future.

In our town we decided not to protest in the street yesterday because we will be able to protest much better on Sunday through the vote!!!!!!!

Also it was very, very cold last night!!!!!!!!

Elaine, My bet is she called for the mourning period to hurt both the protest and the campaigning.

AFIP announced today that Rg companies will have to apply and will probably be denied to pay foreign denominated loans.
So bye bye any outside financing for private enterprises in Arg,
Will everything be state owned shortly?

Another nail in the coffin as so many here like to say.

I think we should start a pool to see when GM, FORD and DOW pack up and leave. Any takers?

I was pleased to see Maximo being highlighted for criticism. He hides behind his mother's skirt and holds far too much power for an unelected person who didn't have the intelligence to finish college. Though, to be fair, I am not sure how a degree would have helped him run his rent-a-thug organisation.

    A-POLITICAL?, ARE YOU SURE?.
Beyond this hypocritical consideration, we all know that nobody can be so idiot to believe that the march was a-political, in fact, some of the organizers of the different cacerolazos, are candidats for the elections of next sunday, like verónica torres and some others. Anyway, i don't criticise their activism, because i am an activist too, but what is really hypocritical, is to say that the march was a-political.
As a kirchnerist activist, i have never omitted my activism, anybody can agree or not on our ideas, but we always recognize publicly our activism.
I have always respected detractors of kirchnerism, because i'ts absolutly expectable that not all people in the country will feel represented by a government, beside, i have always recognized also the negative aspects and the mistakes that involve c. f. k's administration, but what i have never tolerated is hypocresy.
People protested yesterday mostly against insecurity, corruption, inflation, among some other issues, if they really had a genuine concern in relation to those problematics, they wouldn't protest against c. f. k. only, they would protest also against the governors, because security doesn't depend on the national govt. only, firstly it depends on the provincial authorities, according to our constitution.
In some places from the country, people protested against the governors too, which is the right thing to do, however in capital federal, all critics were adressed against c. f. k. only.
They complained about the corruption cases that involve c. f k's govt., but they didn't protest against their own intendant, mauricio macri, who is being investigated by justice, accused of different delits, beside, people didn't protest against him for more security. These objetive facts show that actually they don't have any genuine concern in relation to those issues, they just make a hypocritical critic, in order to criticise a govt. which ideology doesn't coincid with their's.

“if they really had a genuine concern in relation to those problematics, they wouldn't protest against c. f. k. only”

Why not? Is she not the leader of your country, the head of state? Have you never heard the saying....” the buck stops here? Or is her case she passes the peso and keeps the buck?

She is responsible for the inflation by restricting supply with her assinine import restrictions, all so she has U$ because Argentina cannot get financing because they are a credit risk as a deadbeat borrower.

Insecurity? Yeah, well prosperity and crime has an inverse relationship and as the economic misery increases, so does the crime. Her economic policies are so backward Argentina is hastening the downward spiral of other SA countries.

As for corruption, KFC is the poster child for corrupt and lying government. Her lying law degree, he stealing land in the south, the payoff's of her cronies, trying to steal the judicial, control wrestling of the media. Argentina's citizen what change.....any change to rid themselves of kirchner's. They will all need a long cleansing shower when she is gone.

It is unfortunate that soon, IMF will ring Argentina's bell and shortly there after, so will the US Appellate Court....followed by SCOTUS's denial to accept the case.

There are several things that make CFK fans quite predictable. Among others fanaticism, absolutism (all absolute power to the leader) and the use of simple and high-excited words.

The regular usage of words such as sovereignty, equality, solidarity, freedom, national project, etc break any rational discussion.

As a result these words break any discussion of fiscal deficit, monetary issuance, country risk, sovereign risk, etc..

This is the basic behaviour of populism.

There is one more to be added, peronist fans speech using terms of “moral superiority”. As a result the “dollar clamp” (that “does not exist”), is just some small restriction to benefit the majority of the people. In addition the looting of the pension funds is to subsidize the poor (as if poor people were not pensioners).

Now, based on some posts, each person who participates in a massive march to criticize the government (but it is not an active participant in policy) is an hypocritical. This is simply another post of ethical and moral superiority. The message is “I'm honest than the others that are hypocrites”

There is nothing more hypocritical and corrupt than the Argentine ruling class led by CFK. She is the leader of a gang of looters. Many newspapers regularly publish articles, without any shame, saying that “CFK would do anything to keep a portion of power to guarantee her future impunity”. The same impunity that CFK, and the Peronist Party, had given to the former President Menem who has been condemned by corruption.

I’m not living in Buenos Aires now, but I talked to relatives of mine about the previous demonstrations and they were quite clear “the whole neighbourhood was there, nobody pay them a coin for being there, it was spontaneous and free”. I challenge someone who write here to offer reasonable proves that there were money being given to those who demonstrate against CFK

As with the demonstrations in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Brazil something seems to be changing in Argentina

The current reserves of the Central Bank shows more dollars of private deposits (around U$D 7 billion) than genuine dollars owned by the CB (around U$D 6.5 billion).

With the failure of the CEDIN and BAADE that collected U$D 10 millon the temptation of taking this priveta moeny must be very high.

I'm studying economics (for personal enjoyment), and CFK is doing absolutely everything wrong. Slowing down trade, imposing restrictions, over-taxing, giving money to unproductive hands, threatening those that don't agree, not keeping up with agreements, stealing, making a fool out of herself in public, etc.

She's not doing one thing correctly. Not a single one. When there are no more funds for you, and your malnourished and staving, realize that your incompetence and laziness is to blame. We've supported you lazy rats for too long, not your disgusting leathery hag. Us.

    3) I comment here on the Malvinas Islands Issue and South American politics in general.
    4) I'm not a great fan of the present Argentinean administration but I can see, with a naked eye, that it is the best we have had in the last ~sixty years......
    4) I do respect our present government because they have a clear popular mandate and because I agree with many of its social & economical policies.
    5) I completely oppose the British military occupation of some 12,000,000 km2 of South Atlantic territory (Malvinas, Georgias, Shetland del Sur and the Antarctic sector) as a reminiscence of their long gone Empire.

Also what's with all the Rgs ( voice think Toby et al) that seriously believe just because something is theoretically possible that it is also practical? The best recent example is flying diagonally across the Pacific. No retard in the world would ever say that nobody but dear ol Think.

Or Toby's harping on and on about Argentina and Isolation, a country that lives on exporting cars and grains and has ZERO and I mean ZERO innovation. Monkeys could put together the computer crap that's left in TDF. You'd never see any technology again if you were as isolated as you claim you want to be, no internet, no gen farming, no car exports, no meds...do you see where I am going? Argentinians are too dumb and lazy to come up with all the stuff the north creates. You just put it together badly.

Toby, There is really something mentally wrong with you. You need some help.

All are stateless and bitter, none seem to live in SA and they are all disdainful of the ordinary people.

Certainly, between “Think” and “a_Voice” alone, one could say he is on here “full-time”.

What else in life could Think be suited for, except to make money slagging people and telling propaganda and lies?

@11 Thanks, axel, nice to know you're still out there, still being a fool and still, presumably, brainwashing the children of your country. Or have you been promoted to street sweeper?
@24 No. But you have to understand differentiation. My personal attitude is that argieland is populated by two distinct types of people. First, there are “argies”. Virtually every negative character trait you can imagine is represented in “argies”. “Argentines” are completely different. They are civilised, honest, intelligent, responsible and sane. Unfortunately, they are also a minority.
    @26 And Brits who care!
@32 And let's compare the Brits who put 1,500 troops and 4 combat aircraft in place against belligerent and dishonest argieland. And argieland is planning to buy 20? Who is militarising the South Atlantic? And argieland would talk about warships and submarines as well. If they could afford them and they didn't sink!
@34 Go figure who set the fire. In 13 years in the 19th century, argieland tried to steal British territory. In the 30s and 40s, encouraged by Hitler, it tried again. In '82 it conducted an illegal invasion and occupation and started a war. Again, Britain doused the fire and threw the arsonists out.
    @39 No, you don't. “A_Voice” is just “a mouth”.
@45 No. Argieland is neither honest nor trustworthy. Maybe if it mends its ways, pays its debts and waits 100 years.
@49 Start from a basic premise. Nothing “Think” says is true. Absolutely nothing!
59 Unfortunately for the Troll, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and British Antarctic Territory are all British. And he hates the fact that a little group of islands 7,000 miles away has been so much better than his “country”.
@74 The “solution” is simple. It will come argieland tells the truth, abandons its illegitimate claims and stops waging economic warfare. And shame on other latam countries for supporting it.

Ergo, despite the firmness of your arguments, they're still inflexible and entrenched, therefore, displaying a situation that will drag this further and further without any solution in the end.

As far as I know, I have the right to pick a name that pleases me not the anyone else, not to mention that, there was never a rule in this site saying that you username must represent your personal alignments of whatever kind of subject. As long as the a username is not clearly offensive, there isn't any objections to it.

    84 & 85

So, let me see this again, you guys are meaning that because I support the idea that, since all parties involved claim a certain objective, under their own 'legitimate' reasons, a negotiated sollution that, in thesis, should be able to pleased all parties involved, in a discussion that it's dragging itself since god knows when, is reason enough to grade me down to a level of mere fake persona?

  • Captain Poppy

Why on earth or in any reasonably prudent person’s rational thinking would someone submit to negotiations of something that is not negotiable?
In this case the Falkland Island. The settlers in the Falklands did not overthrow indigenous people to even land on the C24 list. In fact they were uninhabited islands. Argentina actually displaced the original inhabitants and the current citizens of Argentina are technically squatters like us here in the USA. But that will not change just as the Falklands will not change. The current people of the Falklands have been there longer then they in Argentina. Have you not heard that possession is 9/10s the rule of law?
Perhaps you feel the proximately makes the case for them belonging to Argentina. Then is Cuba the USA’s, after all the have a possession and presence there? In fact most of the Caribbean Island countries would be the USA’s possessions.
Why should England talk to Argentina over the islands?
What benefit is there to talk to Argentina?
Why does Argentina refuse to talk to the Islanders?

England will talk, but not without the people of the Falkland Islands. If Argentina had felt they had a legitimate claim to the islands they should have spoken up in 1850 when they resumed relations with England and signed an agreement stating that there were no unresolved issues. It was not until over 100 years later that they started to make rants about the islands. If we as a society allow one country to retroactively make a claim to land and concede to that claim, where does it stop for every country on earth? The precedent set by that action would, conceding to Argentina claim over 100 years later would be a nightmare indeed.

So, my turn on the Russian Roulette, eh?

Look, Pops, you seem to be a vet around here, therefore, you've already know how to stress your own arguments with enough precision to macth your personal opinion. But, when it comes to me, i'm still a rookie around here, so pardon me for not being able to examplify my intentions clearly enough, so take them with grain of wit for now.

Also, I see that, the points you make in 'England will talk, but not without the people of the Falkland Islands' in special, that, correct if i'm wrong, there's no reason to decide who's claims on the island is right without the presence of the voices of the Falks on the subject...which is reasonable...why not...Still, haven't I said something similar?

As you can see, I've always based my argument under the hypothesis of a sollution that benefits all parties involved, ergo, in order to achieve this, all parties involved must have the right to talk, be args, brits or falks, it's simple logic...

Also, I can't see how could my arguments cause so much chagrin, since they're still being hypothetical and circunstantial.

Ah! before I forget, about the three questions. Well, the only reason I'm still debating here in this site, is to answer those same three questions...You may have already a flag to hoist, mate...But I'm still looking for mine.

They can publicly vent their opinions or fairy tales , and they do, but they have no legal claim, nor have they shown any evidence supporting it, that hasn't been shown to be false.

    Like think and voice.....no takers

BTW.....Argentina refuses to talk to the Islanders, almost 200 years of a consistent population with possession and ownership rights are self evident. To decide otherwise sets a dangerous precedent. If someone walked up and claimed my home was theirs and ranted for years and demanded I talk to them, my response would be their is nothing to talk about......like the Islanders response it.
