One of the main features emerging with the current international economic situation is mega-regional negotiations linking the main world production networks: Europe, North America and Asia and sometimes skirting WTO, according to the latest report on the Latinamerican and Caribbean economy from Eclac (UN Economic commission for Latam and the Caribbean). I'm all for my country integrating with Asia and Pacific, but wish it would look a little further east across the Pacific to our cousins in the Pacific Alliance and do more to deepen the integration there.

No sign of “mercosur”. No surprise there. Useless, illegitimate, non-trade organisation.

No worries lads, in LA we got plenty of foodstuff, oil, soy, water, copper, you name it... Increased trade with China has given us more in 10 years than 180 years are treating with the western nations. The stuff might be low budget, but that's fine.
Enjoy your new iPhones, I heard the next model comes with finger print recognition. Wow! I'm so envious!!!

For me our America needs to integrate (South América). The rest of the world is only the remainder. We need to study, we need more strong companies. Meanwhile we close our markets a bit, attract investments and technologies that interest us. Once our house is in order, with integrated economies, we have to decide more clearly about commercial alliances. Consider the following: the developed world desperately needs more captive consumers. Join this game only with our raw materials is not interesting. Moreover, the decline of the U.S. and Europe are evident, and we should not join with them, we have done it for 500 years. Failed! África, Ásia and Oceania are a good options in right time.

You continue to support Uruguay's reliance on China.

    Brasiliero
You continue to support Brazil's reliance on Mercosur

Meanwhile, economically successful countries such as mine and those in the Pacific Alliance will integrate far and wide without such narrow limitations that you choose to live under.

Mercosur has no reliable rules, therefore can not be considered an instrument of economic integration desirable. Political will is the beginning of everything and our politicians seem lost, not respect the rules.
Yes, Brazil needs Mercosul and all South América.

The Chinese provide the ROU with crap of such poor quality it makes The Dark Country look good!

Bet you have never driven a Chin made car for more than two days, if ever. I have, but never again. Had it booked for the week and was really looking forward to it until I took it out of MVD airport, turned towards PdelE and tried to accelerate up the hill. Then on going around a right hand curve the steering wanted to take charge of the car: RH wheel was loose, so I tightened it up only to have both of them come loose the next day, so I investigated what was wrong: the “spring” bevelled section of the wheel pressing which should have locked the nut was flat to the hub surface!

Then asking around I found out spare parts were impossible to obtain: nada!

I drove to the importers in MVD to pick my new car up and asked them to have it picked up and returned to the hire company. My wife said if we had it another two days it would have had to go back in a box.

You drove up a hill from Carrasco to PdeE?

    That might explain a lot.

    Don't drink and drive!

Perhaps, in the time you have been away, they built the new airport!

The traffic island immediately underneath the flyover has to climb a “hill”. It seemed like a mountain to the little Chin car and BTW, for health reasons I do not partake of ANY alcohol.
