    Argentina has achieved self-sufficiency after many years of Perrote's rule and ideas, in one thing, economic lunacy.

    I have to say that it is refreshing to see such a bluntly-worded article.

    “”How much is the kilo of beef? Beef hasn't gone up in three years in a country which consumers mainly meats. What are we talking about? The price of beef, the price of chicken haven't gone up“ underlined Moreno.”

    I know an owner of an abattoir in Argentina who has to wait for permission to sell the meat. She receives a phone call from a government official telling her to whom she may sell it and at what price.

    So how would you describe someone who does business with a firearm on his desk? Does Moreno aspire to be Tony Soprano when he grows up? Is his manhood...compromised in his some way? Freud would've had a field day with this guy.

    Mental health is seen in Argentina just like any other bodily ailment. It is not ostracized, spurned, or frowned upon like in the USA and Europe, where people don't even have the freedom to state they need mental health, because it literally ruins their lives.

    That might also explain why the USA and Europe are full of mass shootings, pedophiles, mass stabbings, or just outright lunatics that imprison people in basements for decades, or launch wars against non-existent enemies... and none of those things ever happen in Argentina.

    @17 To be fair, we were talking about one man who would be reviled whatever his nationality.

    No, mental health issues do not ruin peoples lives in the UK though there is a fading stigma attached, mostly held by the older generations. Just so you know.

    I think you are confusing genuine mental health problems with the love affair people of Buenos Aires have for paying someone so they can talk about themselves for an hour at a time. Honestly, they do not have genuine health problems but a nasty case of narcissism. Going to a therapist is like getting your nails and hair done in BsAs. I know you don't understand this as you have said you have little knowledge of life in BsAs.

    I probably told you the story of one of my friends there who goes 3 times a week. I questioned the expense when she said she had been going for 10 years! I suggested she save the money, buy a pretty dress and go dancing to improve her mood. She didn't understand how anyone could go through life without a therapist to talk to. It was an expensive habit for her, nothing more.

    Well , the psychoanalysis isn't working ....
    Mass shootings : common place since 1810
    Mass stabbings : The mazorcas favourite method of execution
    Peadophiles : Errr.... Peron before AND after Eva ?
    Montoneros : outright lunatics that imprison people in basements
    Miltary dictators : outright lunatics that imprison people in basements
    ...or launch wars against non-existent enemies.
    Indian wars , Paraguay , Gran Chaco , Triple alliance war , ERP/Montos , Beagle Channel , Falklands ( possibly Uruguay over BOTNIA )
    You are joking , right ?

    @20

    Shall we call you the “Assumption Queen” now? You are making a heck of a lot of assumptions of people and why they go to see someone. That's not narcissist, to assume to know the reasons behind the actions of thousandss of others...

    But it sure beats how the British deal with the issue of “lonelyness”, if that is what you think it is. I need not mention that Europeans, especially northern Europeans, are notorious for having a total lack of self-control when it comes to the bottle.

    @21

    Show me the last mass shooting in Argentina where more than three people were killed at the same place at the same time, RANDOMLY (no money, drugs, family ties, or love involved), just people being gunned down like deer just fore being at the park, mall, movie theater, school, or national momunemnt, and I will leave this place forever.

    @22 Are you asserting that all the Argentines going to psychotherapists are just lonely? They need to pay someone to listen to them talk because no one else will? What an interesting notion.

    @14 Well, you see, many hate the argie “government”. Many hate the argie government “mouthpieces” such as yourself. Many hate the argies who are dumb enough to support the “government” and the “mouthpieces”. Many hate argies that go out and do the bidding of the corrupt, criminal “government”. How could people hate “Argentina”? It's an expanse of land. Nothing more. What is “hated” is the slugs that live there. And there is plenty to hate. It might have been difficult but did the foreign inhabitants seek peaceful separation from spain? No. Did they eschew the genocidal approach? No. How many of their own did they kill? Not that I care a lot. Argies killing argies seems eminently reasonable and saves the rest of the world the time and trouble. Then there's the poxed argie attempt to “claim” British territory. Poxed argies tried to get their jackboots on territory Britain discovered, claimed or occupied before poxed argieland existed. The important thing is for poxed argies to be slaughtered and exterminated. Will there be enough left to form a “country”? Argies, as opposed to Argentines, are a plague. You, TiT, are a bacterium. An excrescence. A festering boil. Let's lance the boils!
    @17 And doesn't argieland have more psychiatrists per head of population than anywhere else in the world? Argies are psychopathic nutters. What you mean is that none of the things you mention are reported in argieland. What point in “reporting” everyday occurrences? Kill a “native”. Who cares. Engage in ASB. Don't you all? Let's just put all argies out of our misery.
    @22 It's called the Falkland Islands. Where argie shit fired at British defenders. Fortunately, many of the argie shit died. But not enough. Another 11,000 squashed slugs would have been good. Should have killed every one of the fuckers! And the crap on the mainland as well.

    Toby, Almost every week there is some Pedo who has his house burned down while he is in it, is stoned to death, hung, stabbed by angry villagers that can't get the police to do anything. It is very very common in Argentina to sleep with minors. It is not even prosecuted.
    You also have nightmarish houses of prostitutes where very young girls are literally chained to the beds. Usually they are poor provincial girls from the north, natives, Bolivians or Paraguayans.
    Argentinians are very deviant, most of what we prosecute is taken as ”normal' behavior in Argentina.

    @22 Tobias

    Tobias, I have no problem with your compatriots alleviating their ennui, loneliness or whatever by seeking psychological assistance. If it helps them and they can afford the tariff - why not?

    I do have a problem with bullies who greet their constituents with a prominently displayed weapon. I mean - who does stuff like that? Not even the most radical Tea Party Texan Space Ranger Republican would do something so outlandish. I find it utterly perplexing. Why Moreno still has a job is beyond me.

    Leaving aside the subject of which society/culture/nation/hemisphere is better, doesn't it bother you that your future is in the hands of this thug? I would think that such behaviour would be anathema to someone as sensitive as you seem to be.

    There are also gruesome incidents of organ harvesting and sex trafficking as well as common robbery .

    There are dozens of other incidents listed too .
