Export sales to Argentina indeed dropped 20%.
What MP doesn't tell is that Uruguayan overall exports increased 8%.

Uruguay is diversifying its exportation, something crucial to avoid any impacts decisions like this could have.

“The strong bellicose attitude towards Uruguay apparently helped recover the city for the Victory Front, but now somehow the Argentine government is forced to deliver something more than rhetoric.”

There is nothing more damaging to Argentina in the long run than its propensity for bellicose posturing.

2 Anglotino You must go back to school: Uruguay is an independent country. Taiwan belonged to China before the comunists took powers and to this day is completely independent from mainland China with its own governtment, laws, and capitalist, maybe a reoccupaction by force may change its status, unprobable to this day. Argentina is always trying to show some inflence to keep attention of its own people to its internal problems.

Bodes well for Mercosur/EU negotiations on free trade..........
Brazil and Uruguay should get out of Mercosur and do their own thing.

It won't be a complete loss to Uruguay the stupid, stupid argies have just made the situation worse for their importers who will have to pay hefty storage fees for each container held up by their Aduanas to the Port of MVD before they can be released. No payment, no container and the fees increase for each day on the port.

Nevermind, they can all have a brotherly hug when it's all over. Ha, ha, ha.

It's about time the argies buried the hatchet, only thing is TMBOA is still hiding from the “operation” so they can't bury it in her head.

'(Uruguay's) export sales to Argentina dropped 20%.

I guess you mean this is evidence of increasing trade with Brasil.
Argentina is pushing Uruguay more and more into Brasil's sphere of influence.
Argentina increasingly means: 'no friends in the Southern Cone'.
Why is it positioning itself in this way?

I'd say it's evidence of increased trade with China, Geoff...

And if you ask me why Argentina is taking the road of protectionism, she must have her reasons.
But what's more important though, is that it's Argentinas decision, not yours or mine.
Living in a country that is affected by this decision, we can only adapt to the new reality.
We can't tell Argentina what policies to use, and neither can Europe.
Especially not when they are using subsidises, farm bills, you name it, in order to achieve the same as Argentina...

@1 But there aren't supposed to be any customs restrictions between mercosur members. So these must be “foreign” imports. And therefore the solution is simple. LAUNCH THE CONTAINERS!!! Remember how argieland refuses to dredge the Martin Garcia channel to a proper depth? So take the “delayed” containers and drop them in the river. Now, here are the options. Drop them each side of the Martin Garcia channel so close together that they help retain water in the channel. Alternatively, sneak them across the river and drop them in the Mitre Canal. Just imagine the surprise of cargo ship captains when their ships get their bows stove in. They might even sink! Would argieland have to pay for not keeping a “navigable” channel clear? Would there be massive oil “spills”? Come on, Pepe. Use the wife's balls again. Pretend you're a man. Still time before CFK gets up and leaves her bed-warmer for a few hours. Perhaps you could become “ill”. Clinically obese would be a good start. Chronic flatulence? Bowed legs? A 9mm hole in the head? Are there any guts in Uruguay? Except for the stuff argies poke through in the hope of finding something valuable? Does this signal a major change of attitude? Will argies quit waiting for Uruguayans to die before scrabbling through their guts? Unlikely. Hasn't argieland been scrabbling through Uruguay's guts since 1828? Ah, yes. Another reason why argieland hates Britain. Who brokered the creation of Uruguay? Seems to suggest that Uruguayans are about as thick as other latinos. Shouldn't you be grateful to a nation that enabled your creation? Does Uruguay deserve to exist? It's an enemy. So who cares?

Argentina's clash with Uruguay over the Botnia/UPM pulp mill has led to furious retaliations from Buenos Aires ??????

Apparently the new Argentina navy is on its way to enforce order,
The Argentina army is on its way, to restore argentine influence,
And the Argentine air force is being winded up ready for action.

CFK calls on her allies for help in restore argentine sovereignty over Uruguay,

Her mighty power is ever growing out of control,
Her delusions of imposing her will upon others is hilarious at best..

    Still,
When is Argentina going to learn that she has no right to impose her demands or will, on others who do not share her dreams.
    Still 2
Perhaps she thinks she can order up the Chinese navy, up the river to impose her dream..lol

    Just a thought.
