Why do these problems keep happening only in Argentina?

Why can so many other countries successful manage and harness multinationals and large companies to operate successfully and actually help grow the economy?

The common denominator in all of Argentina's past economic crises is......

    drum roll please.....

    ARGENTINA.

“...advance in mechanisms that establish state management of foreign trade...”

“It is therefore indispensable to extract the availability of those resources from the monopolies blackmail and guarantee government control.”

Intellectual cover/justification for stealing the soy crop.

    Yes that will help.

I mean the government have run YPF so well that it is now making a profit...er...oh wait...

I'm sure it will do as well with taking over everything else.

Argentina really is finished if these clowns are their 'intellectuals'. No wonder Tobias (aka Nostrils, TTT) believes himself to be a genius if these are all he has to compare himself to.

The system of state control has not worked in other countries, Do the Kurchner fanatics think that it will work in Argentina? Has it not been tried before and failed?

Think of the USSR, Cuba, Venezuela. Please correct me if I am wrong

    Lloro por tí Argentina.

In the Spanish version they called these fools K Intellectuals, I almost peed my pants laughing at the oxymoron.

Like everything the Ks do, its a 1x event that gets them through a tough patch but ruins the next generation.

I hope hope hope hope the Ks try to take the farmers grains.
I really really really want to see that.

@8 They are getting desperate, and they will do anything to survive for bit longer.

As far as the wheat prices are concerned, I bought a mid-quality loaf of bread for 28 pesos, when a couple of years ago I could get a loaf of Oroweat for 14. What does that tell you?

They are losing support. Some of the kids that tag the streets with pro-K propaganda started replacing the graffiti with counter graffiti. “La Campora” is now, “La Cajon”. “Chau Clarin” is now, “Chau P.J.” It was taxi drivers, and now their own disenchanted youth are turning against them.

    Frightening developments
    - villifying CEOs and company officials personally, as enemies of the people and the country
    - a government “whipping up the mob” against their scapegoats
    - the government is poised to take control of businesses, private assets and commerce

I see a class war erupting - all to save the K's

@8 There are rumours on some RG chat rooms that certain sections of “the right” are buying up weapons and arming themselves...if this is true it wouldn't surprise me that much given that the government is laying the ground by discussing the anti-hording bill on a daily basis...

600 muggings/thefts in Palermo in 90 days! That used to be considered a decent/safe place to live. The city must be on the brink of collapse.

600 reported robberies in Palermo in the last 90 days. That used to be considered a relatively nice and safe area of BA. ( reported means the number is actually much higher since people are afraid to report)

I guess the city is collapsing if they don't get control back it will look like Caracas in a few years.

Carta Abierta has being going for quite some time… Nobody actually listens to them. It’s just a bunch of old collage commies paid by the gov’t to come up with these extraordinary theories or concepts wrapped up in fancy wording, but completely dis-attached from fact or reality to defend and justify the kirchnerite policy. This group is only there to keep the brainwashed convinced because “theeeeee intellectuals” say its right what the gov’t is doing, therefore it must be right…

I just wondered because I fly a lot and have never had peanuts thrown at me. Is it an Aerolineas thing?

LAN do serve warmed nuts with cocktails before take off. BA serve cocktails, a beautifully prepared meal with fine wines. Then while I am in the bathroom changing into my pyjamas (gifted by the airline) a member of the cabin crew makes up my bed for me.

I flew on one of the LAN dream liners from Santiago to NYC just before Christmas and it was excellent. The cabin was very spacious and the beds comfortable.

I totally agree with the government on this one - particularly strict control on the sale of USD. I suspect most of the retrobates on this site would much rather see the country collapse and all the implications of that for the Argentinian people

One of my favourite things about the recent rainfall in this part of sunny england is that all the reservoirs and aquifers are full and will be full for the next two years. The stupidest part of el Diego's post is that there are so few Ferraris in Argentina that one arriving via import from the USA would actually be newsworthy.
It would be in one of the major newspapers as they try to figure out who the idiot was with enough political connections and U$ to bring in a car they can't drive on the roads for fear of being swarmed by motochorros to be kidnapped and have the car stolen.

And why oh why would you have bought this car 1 month AFTER the taxes doubled when you could have imported it at the gov't rate and lower taxes in Dec.
