But, back to VZ....I've got a friend who is the president of a large shipping agency, with container depots and cold storage terminals at the main ports....the only way to do business is to keep the military happy...bribes and more bribes,,,,and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not one of these men, getting more powerful by the day, that doesn't eventually get rid of Maduro. Only problem though, it could be tantamount to changing 6 for half-a-dozen...
The ever increasing wealth of the top military echoleons is actually a barrier to political change. A Cuban puppet like Maduro is financially convenient.

The law says a prisoner cannot be held for more than two without facing court. She was promptly arrested for doing so. Tortured and raped whilst in detention.
How many unsolved homicides occur in Venezuela every year? And you/they're worried about whether a Mayor prevents a protest or not? Interesting set of priorities...

She said she hoped to prove the rape claim was false. She also stated her intention to have Maria Afiuni with criminal defamation.
To date, to the best of my knowledge, no investigation has been instigated.
Before her incarceration Maria Afiuni was an attractive, vibrant looking woman. Much like Maria Corina Machado...

The poor are deliberately kept uneducated lest they turn into 'poor little rich kids'. something the regime could not abide.

Mar 23rd, 2014 - 11:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I know for a fact, that Chavez (and now, probably MADuro), used to prohibit the discharge of refrigerated containers with beef, exported from Brazil, making them pile up in Caucedo (Dominican Republic) until a couple of weeks before some public event ( an election, perhaps ?), then would let them in, distribute the beef to the starving people - for free - and then “El Presidente” would be hailed as their 'saviour'..... Real democratic concern for the people..

Don't bother answering.... it's simply because they don't like to see the truth out there , for everyone to see....the first acts of aggression were perpetrated by the Government against the people, who have had enough of an ignorant president who, despite being elected democratically (by a very slim margin) - if you can believe the election wasn't fraudulent - started acting as if he had the 'divine' right to rule...as a dictator...
And is currently ruling by decree.
