” keen “to see better dialogue between the Falklands and Argentina”.

A good positive eye opener. Could not have said it better.

All Argentina has to do is put aside its spurious claim.

Positive dialogue - It is amazing what can happen when people actually meet each other and talk, especially when it is their home you are discussing, which makes Timmerman's refusal to include islanders in any talks completely moronic

“The Falklands enjoy an exceptional level of amenities and prosperity and are on the right road to an even more prosperous future...”

    No CT scanner though. LOL!

Joking aside I think this is yet again another positive week we've just had and these sorts of educational visits are going to continue. The programme of our own officials' visits to countries around the globe spreading the word has increased once again also.

“indicating that immigration needed to be opened up.”

How hard would it be for the Falkland Islands population to be dominated by Argentine immigrants?

Then, as in Crimea, these Argentine immigrants take over the police and military, and hold a “referendum” just like in the Crimea.

I wonder if the Falkland Islanders ever considered such a scenario?

@4 They're healthy people compared to the mainland :-P

But seriously though, when will this delegation be arrested for cavorting with criminals again? Never? Shucks... Everyone is behind Argentina... all the better to laugh at CFK behind her back.

But even more seriously... everyone is visiting the islands (discretely or otherwise) it seems... except C24 and Argentine diplomats. Remind me why we should take either one seriously then?

Falklands' prosperity and economic boom surprises visiting Brazilians,

    Of course it did,
And to be fair, it would surprise many other South American countries if these visited the Falklands,

To do business and trade with the Falklands will be the in thing in the years to come,

Bypassing that dilapidated has been Argentina…

Why would any Argentine diplomat visit the Falklands?

    Is there anything to negotiate?

I see no problem that the entire world visits and dialogues with the Falklanders. I also see no problem that Argentina does not do so, or with the UK.

@16 The underscored Truth underscored shall underscored B underscored Trolld

“Why would any Argentine diplomat visit the Falklands?”

If Argentine diplomats had to possess more education than just being an airline stewardess, and knew how diplomacy actually works they would go to the Falklands to persuade the Islanders that belonging to Argentina would be better for them than their present status, and if any good would at least possess the skills to make their case to the Islanders-(a clue-offering Kiddies videos even with Penguins isn't really a good way to change someone's mindset).

But I agree with you because , no Argentine diplomat has more than a few brain cells with no in depth knowledge of history-therefore are not intelligent enough to win JUST 3000 ISLANDERS over by persuading them that being part of Argentina holds more advantages for them than either increased self autonomy, future independence or remaining attached to the UK.

“I see no problem that the entire world visits and dialogues with the Falklanders. I also see no problem that Argentina does not do so, or with the UK.”

    I can't argue with that.
