    Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!

    In the eccentric way the English have... Harry is a nickname for Henry.
    Likewise Jack, for John.

    However for the benefit of all, I demure to William Shakespeare;

    KING HENRY V:
    Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
    Or close the wall up with our English dead.
    In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
    As modest stillness and humility:
    But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
    Then imitate the action of the tiger;
    Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
    Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
    Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
    Let pry through the portage of the head
    Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
    As fearfully as doth a galled rock
    O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
    Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
    Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
    Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
    To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
    Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
    Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
    Have in these parts from morn till even fought
    And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
    Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
    That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
    Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
    And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
    Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
    The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
    That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
    For there is none of you so mean and base,
    That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
    I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
    Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
    Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
    Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

    Of course, you have the heroic Maximo . How can we compete with such a specimen of manhood. Revered throughout South America for his heroic exploits such as .................? I can't quite recall these but no doubt Paul will enlighten us.

    OK Paul, give us verified details of the children he has killed in his combat tour of Afghanistan. You seem to know everything about it so enlighten us with your encyclopedic knowledge or is it just your usual made up crap because you must say something.

    I presume he is going with the blessing of the Brazilian and Chilean governments. Is CFK going to protest as proof of further militarization of the S.Atlantic after all his helicopter was carrying nuclear missiles.
    She read this in a comic so it must be true.

    @1

    Have you honesty convinced yourself that anyone in Argentina is upset about this?

    Come on man, get out of your bubble. It's OK that you fervently believe your country is great and admired and the rest, but don't get to the point of fooling yourself. Prince Harry not visiting is on the Argentine mind list of priorities somewhere in between listening to the latest hip-hop single and winning an Olympic medal.

    Toby, yes we know Argentina is in tears that it has been slighted by the worlds most eligible batchelor. Argie beauties will be weeping in front of their mirrors. KFC will be stamping and throwing things at the wall. And, your gay folk will be sobbing into their hankies. Gollum will sulk. Filmus will be denied an opportunity to throw insults and meanwhile MSs Batchelet and Rouseff will be thrilled. Its a massive snub to Argentina which is now a pariah nation the joke of South America.

    I wonder if the Argentines on here could enlighten us on when they least received any foreign dignatory, head of state visit of any kind or anyone of importance. The truth is that worlds big players avoid Argentina and Kirchner like the plague, they know she will try and manipulate what they have said after they have left, she has done it many many times now, case in point at the UN with Spain when they were very publicly humiliated with a denial about what was discussed.

    The sad truth for Argentina is that if we were to have another war with them, Prince Harry would be there with his Apache helicopter shooting Argentines by the bucket load and yet, this very same person is having the red carpet rolled out for him in Brazil and Chile. That must really hurt. :-)

    I would be interested to see a list of Official State Visits TO Argentina over the past 10-15 years if anyone has one.

    In the 1990s at least one or two presidents and an official delegation went by the Hotel Alvear per week...

    I think the last important one was Clinton in 1997

    Anything in the past 10-15 years?

    I'm looking for official state visits of Presidents or Monarchs. Didn't the Dutch drop by a while back?

    @18

    Yes. alas your rather sheepish reply with respect to Hilary, she isn't and never was a head of state and if memory serves me correctly wasn't it publicised that she questioned CFK's mental health on the back of that visit??

    Any more powerful and influencial visits.....p.s Sean Penn doesn't count!

    Ironically the last one was Tony Blair when he met DLR in Argentina back in 2001 at a Summit in Iguazu. So that would bearly fall in your 15 time range

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/1467847.stm

    As monarchs go they have all being un-official like the Qatari Prince racing in Dakar and Harry himself that came to practice polo or was seeing one of the jet set of the argentine girls at the time or at least the Argentine gossip press said at the time I can’t remember because it was a decade ago.

    The Dutch Monarchs don't count because the princess is Argentine herself.

    Now that I think about it, the only official visits during the Kirchnerist era would have being Lula, Chavez, Morales, more Chavez, Vazquez, more Lula, Bachelet, more Chavez, Mujica, Piñera, more Chavez, more Evo Morales, Maduro, Maduro again, etc.

    Yes I’m sure if anyone investigates these last 15 years, its going to be a very poor record indeed.
    Argentina's diplomatic isolation and limited world aspirations speak forthemselves. Nobody comes if there is no business to be made. Its all political friends that come to the Rosada.

    Cabeza, your country certainly has some colourful friends! Mind they dont invite the Papua New Guineans now they are your supporters, those guys are worse than the Ghurkas for lopping off heads.

    Hmmm, so the moral of the story here is that actually nobody of key and significant influence form anywhere visits Argentina these days. So they must either smell or someone is trying to tell them something........or maybe both.

    Argentina does it to themselves.

    They have a minister visit Timor Leste and then PNG but decline to visit more powerful, relevant and rich country right next door; Australia.

    Australia is the largest country and economy that lies solely in the Southern Hemisphere. Timor Leste and PNG have a combined economy of US$17 billion and 7.5 million people. Oz and NZ come in at US$1.7 trillion and 27 million.

    That's a 100 times bigger market to tap into.

    Perhaps it is because they couldn't get any propaganda value. The obligatory support for the Malvinas. Or perhaps because it is to hard to spin success of Kirchnerism when you can see exactly what a successful medium power really looks like.

    By concentrating on many of the small fish, Argentina has become a small fish. All so it can gain a meaningless quote regarding the Falkland Islands.

    Hmm... some very good points there Anglotino.

    Also, KFC didn't manage to get a quote from France did she?

    Proves your point nicely.
