Striker Luis Suarez admitted he had dreamt he was going to score two goals, the two that helped Uruguay defeat England 2-1 in the 2014 World Cup and leaves the team led by Gerard in a most uncomfortable position.

“Yes, I dreamt” said Suarez following the Thursday match at the Itaquerao stadium against England whose players he knows better than most.

“Yes, it is true and I'm enjoying every moment for all those I suffered; for all the criticism I received. Here you have”, said the Uruguayan striker with tears in his eyes.

Suarez dedicated victory and the two goals to his wife, his children and physiotherapist Walter Ferreira that helped him to recover following surgery in one of his knees last 22 May in Montevideo.

“Before the match I felt something in my knee, but Walter told me to forget it, it had nothing to do with the surgery, and so it was”, confessed Suarez, who after his first goal went running to embrace Ferreira and his team mates.

Suarez admitted that after the first goal he had a feeling of relief, but with the second it was amazing.

Before the second goal the Liverpool player said he was cramped in his two legs, but “something told me to stay in the field”.

Finally “I only have words of gratitude. I'm overwhelmed because I'm back with all my force and all the adrenaline needed for this kind of matches. It's great morally and spiritually”.

In the words of Hugh Laurie: Well at least the sun came up. Last night I thought Suarez might make a run between Venus and Mercury and stick it away.
