The fact that the bank is not independent of the government never struck me. It is forever making policy decisions that affect the economy and Tombini is obviously in the thrall of Dumbass Dilma. If Dilma lost the presidency Tombini wouldn’t last a minute.

Anyway, the two of them together with The Liar Mantega have fucked Mr. Market well and truly to get the country into this fix: and Mr. Market will have his revenge, he always does.

#1 absolutely correct, unfortunately because these knobs have dug such a hole there will be a lot of pain to get out of it, hoping for change at this election so that Brazil has a chance to recover with a more market oriented party. Otherwise look forward to putt putt putt and not vroom vroom vroom.

    @ 5 Brasileiro
“I give my life for it!”

Off you go then, can't say it's been good to know you but at least you are doing the right thing by the rest of us when you top yourself.

Remember: a sharp knife across either carotid artery will put you unconscious in less than three minutes (especially if you flail around because you have changed your mind) and you will bleed out in 7 to 9 minutes. No pain at all apparently: too much shock.

    No need to thank me.

    Which Brasileiro is topping himself?

Seems to be the one with broken English. Does that mean the one with better English will be logging in more? Or will he still do the same number of shifts after the funeral?

If I was the Brazilian economy I'd be depressed too. Just as I manage to get going and some momentum, I get reined back in by stupidity.

“Opposition lawmakers have called on the bank to be given autonomy and independence from the government, a move that President Dilma Rousseff opposes, as does the head of the Central Bank Alexandre Tombini. Rousseff and Tombini have repeatedly said the Central Bank has operational autonomy to make its own decisions”“”
To paraphrase the asshole Lula, “ he would say ”never in the history of this country has the Central Bank been more independent“....hahaha !!

The fact is that, the only period in Brazil's recent history, during which the Central Bank was independent from the Federal Government, was under FHC...and it wasn't an easy task . Another fact, under the PT, this changed and the Central Bank now has absolutely no autonomy and is simply an instrument of the PT's monetary policies. And the fact that Tombini and Rouseff say repeatedly, ”the Central Bank has operational autonomy to make its own decisions“”“, is just a lie told millions of times to fool the general public. If the Bank were independent, as they claim, why would it need to get involved with the government, just before elections, in order to try to turn things around and improve the latter's image ??? They fool nobody, or, unfortunately, they do. One saving grace is that even with the government's manipulation of the CB, their policies will not have time, before the elections, to be effective.
@5 & 7, Brazzo once again spewing his hatred of the ”west“....and being a muzzie, prepared to give his life for his principles, why doesn't he look for a way to speed up his encounter with the proverbial ”72 virgins“ ??

@8, Anglo, it is pretty clear that the ”Brazzo” is helped out by a number of dysfunctional assholes like himself. The quality of the English used varies, from bad to worse, but the ideas are all the same crap.
