Argentina shooting itself in the foot again and also contravening UNGA resolution 69/98, which reads, in part:
'Reaffirming also that any economic or other activity that has a negative impact on the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories and on the exercise of their right to self-determination in conformity with the Charter and General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV) is contrary to the purposes and principles of the Charter,
Reaffirming further that the natural resources are the heritage of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories, including the indigenous populations,'

    it is easy.
you want to fish in the tiny islets?
then you will not fish in the huge mar argentino.
    not a difficult choice, eh?

@6 Once again Pauly you show your stupidity and ignorance, the Falklands waters have a massive abundance of squid, both illex and loligo, in fact the Falklands is the only place loligo spawns in the world and is extremely popular in Spain, we have vessels from all over the world, in fact the loligo fleet is made up entirely of ships co-owned with companies in Spain, in fact Galicia make millions from fishing in the Falklands, lol and I thought Spanish and argies were pals, not even the Spaniards are that stupid. So go ahead, scare of these fishing companies by stealing there ships, equipment and quota, they can fish here should the quota become available. Also our fishing industry is far more heavily regulated than Argentinas ensuring a renewable resource, what happened to the Blue Whiting? Ohh yes Argentina over fished and decimated it. But do you lot learn? NO. Argentina encourages the fishing of premature illex before it emigrates to Falkland Economic zone, just to try and spite us, lol so very stupid, typical argie just ruin everything for everyone. RETARDS

    6. When there's a choice business will always choose the Falklands over Argentina.
    Why:
    They respect contract law.
    They're not corrupt
    They speak English

    And it will never change.

so these twits dare to compare the magnificent mare nostrum argentinum with the waters that surround the islets...funny.
argentina is the 9th richest country in natural resources, and that, of course includes fish resources.

the sad thing about these isleters is that they are greedy and not too smart, so they allow overfishing in their puddle.

next step will be banning our wonderful air space for those flights that go to the islets.

@9 We do not over-fish pauly, like i said our fishing industry is HEAVILY regulated, there is no overfishing, Argentina is well known to overfish there stocks, like the blue whiting and now currently hoki. Of course you have more natural resources than us, Argentina is a large country, we are simply more efficient with our marine resources.

Go ahead, ban the LAN flight from your airspace, but how will Argentines get here to mourn those who died in the war? We will just carry on like we always do.

    Paul

    Which is bigger

    1) The EEZ of Argentina
    2) The EEZ of the Falklands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

tut tut, wrong again....their“puddle” is twice the size of yours!!!!

@11 Sorry to correct you but South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are no longer part of the Falklands, they are now separate entities. But our puddle is still quite substantial, its about the same area as texas.

First there is no such place as the Mar Argentino or Argentine Sea. It is a purely local description used within Argentina.

Second, Nissui chose the Falkland Islands over Argentina. It decided it made better economic sense to offload a business in Argentina than the Falklands. What does that tell you about confidence.

Third, “argentina is the 9th richest country in natural resource” is an interesting claim consider how dogshit poor Argentina is. Anyway, it is obviously behind my country in wealth and we obviously manage it waaaaaay better than Argentina.

Anyway the Falklands still don't wanna be part of that. Must be so frustrating to put so much energy into watching and talking about a nation that doesn't want anything to do with you.

    @12

They are all British Overseas territories in the South Atlantic which Argentina Falsely claims....together their EEZ is about twice the size of Argenitnas...which is funny as Paulcondom thinks “size is important”

@14 Yeh i was just being pedantic, but combined I think it would be larger than the Argentine EZZ, I'm not sure how large our EZZ with South Georgias would be. But regardless of size, ours is a very well managed fishing zone although catches are not large on a world scale, about a third of the size of what is caught in Britains EEZ, but about a half of the Squid eaten in Southern Europe comes from here. Its enough for our little community anyway

Argentinas EEZ is about 1.1m km2
Britains EEZ is about 6.8m km2 of which 0.5m is the Falklands and 1.5m km2 is SG&SSI

Not sure if that is what the Argentines think with their obsession that the UK run the Falklands.

They just don't get self determination.

If you took a mallet to an Argentine head and kept repeating, 'the Islanders run their islands' (because it wouldn't make any sense for the UK to from 8000 miles away) every time the mallet struck-they still wouldn't get it.

I am also impressed by the Islanders that were Implanted in 1833 still being there (according to the Dark Country). I wouldn't mind living 180 + years.

Paulie- For what it is worth- If Arg withdrew airspace overflight permits it would actually be a serious Breach Of International Civil Aviation Rules and Agreements.
Not that International Laws have ever bothered an Argentine Govt I agree!

So go ahead if you like- and then face the backlash you will get from your own veterans groups and the Families Assoc of those buried here.
They have already told your president a couple of years ago that they want the Lan flight to STAY.
Ball is in your Court - most of us here are not fussed what you do with it.

Poor Paul. Truly product of the Argentine education system.

Argentine EEZ: 1,084,386 km2 (29th in size and just ahead of Ecuador)!

    Falkland EEZ: 550,872 km2
    South Georgia/Sandwich Islands EEZ: 1,449,532 km2

So twice the size of Argentina's pathetic and overfished Mar Argentino.

For comparison, Australia's EEZ is 8,148,250 km2 though if we include our Antarctic Territories it is over 10,000,000 km2.

Argentina just kept turning left whereas Australia stayed centred.
