Let's give Argentina credit for at least one thing - they do a strong line in fuck-witted ambassadresses.

The K's are so used to fooling Argentines that they get very annoyed when they can't employ the same tactics outside the country. “Don't you dare look at us!”

I think Stiuso is being clever in insisting that he has it in writing from the government that he can talk freely about absolutely every piece of intelligence he gathered while working as a spy. And insisting that they send a subpoena with the correct spelling of his name.

What I cannot understand is what CFK is thinking releasing him from his obligations under their Official Secrets Act.

No Doubt Obama is in a crisis meeting about how America may have to defend itself against half a dozen Chinese gunboats......Oh....they haven't got them yet ...and when they do get them ,they will break down in the first 30 mins just like all the other 'Rinky Tink' products. Ambassador Moron, how did they find one with such intellectual disability ? !!

Of course , if the US had said that they were going to force Britain to the negotiating table over the Falkland Islands , it wouldn't be classed as interference.....Just American “ solidarity ” .
I so hope Nisman's death is not in vain .

Please, please please who dares to interfere and violate Argentine sovereignty?? Why will you deny us our legitimate right and freedom to kill all the persecutors that investigate us ??

Funny, you preach liberty, Mr America, but you will deny the most beautiful and smartest leader in the world the ultimate liberty; to do whatever she wants to her people.

@6. To whom are you referring? The Dopy Bugger? Or is it the the other one? C_N_ for short. Complete with letters of your choice. What better than to say 'Argentina will not tolerate any United States intervention in the investigation of prosecutor Alberto Nisman's death, and will consider any attempt as an interference in the country's domestic affairs and a violation of Argentine sovereignty.' Why not make a shorter statement? Like 'of course we killed him. But we have to cover it up because he was supposed to hang himself'!

Oh , how short some people's memories are ....

“Argentina will not tolerate any United States intervention in the investigation of prosecutor Alberto Nisman's death, and will consider any attempt as an interference in the country's domestic affairs and a violation of Argentine sovereignty ”

The military dictatorship uttered the very same words in 1976-79 when the Carter administration did all it could to save these very same people who are in power now .

A great idea for the US to investigate. Even better for the UK to do it. Then the corruption could be brought to the surface for everyone to see and the crooks exposed.

As for an invasion there is nothing whatsoever in Argentina worth invading for, with 40% of the population classified as basket cases why do it.

Why has my previous message been deleted when I stated that there is no warning by Argentina on the actual letter? This is a link to the Argentina embassy in the US and the letter itself.

http://embassyofargentina.us/embassyofargentina.us/en/news/files/Letter_from_Argentine_Ambassador__H.E._Cecilia_Nahon__regarding_the_AMIA_case_and_the_death_of_Argentine_General_Prosecutor_Alberto_Nisman.pdf Mercopress is lying about it.

I am also complaying with Mercopress rules: Note: ”Comments do not reflect MercoPress’ opinions. They are the personal view of our users. We wish to keep this as open and unregulated as possible. However, rude or foul language, discriminative comments (based on ethnicity, religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation or the sort), spamming or any other offensive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Please report any inadequate posts to the editor. Comments must be in English. Comments should refer to article. Thank you”.

And my personal opinion is that Mercopress is lying on this matter, as there is no indication of any warning by the ambassador's letter.

Exactly.....no warning at all. They should have allowed Nisman to go to the US hearing on Iran last year but refused to allow him to testify. Argentina is currently unofficially labelled a sponsor of terrorism. It will not be long before they are officially labelled as such.

If they actually think the REAL intelligence community does not know the actually series of events that transpired to get to this point......there is not a word created that defines their ignorance.

Certainly no “warning” explicit in the letter.

It does say in no uncertain terms, Argentina “rejects” interference from the U.S.
In other words - “butt out!”

    Strong language.

    And what are their motives?

Don't they want to get to the truth?

    mmm... maybe not.

    A “defiant message?”
Come on! Where on earth Republican senators got the idea they could bring their fat arses to Argentina to meddle with the local judiciary? Obviously these guys are still mentally in a time when their country made and un-made governments in Latin America.
Newsflash: Argentina is a sovereign country, living in democracy and will take care of its own affairs. Our judiciary system is far from perfect--I'll be the first to recognize it--but don't even get me started on the United States' own system--in need of an urgent overhaul to avoid further trigger-happy policemen and murderer vigilantes walking free.
The article above fails to inform that Nisman's accusation was mostly based on Argentina's supposed request for cancellation of Interpol's “red alerts” against Iranian suspects in the bombing of the AMIA. (This point is cited over 90 times in the accusation). So when Interpol emphatically denied it to be true, the accusation--and Nisman--were deeply in trouble facing congress.

The letter that was shared on the Argentinian embassy website is not the letter being referenced by this article. That was from Jan 28 to “Members of Congress”. This was likely a response to Sen. Rubio's statement on the Nisman situation back in January. The communication referenced by this article to is the House of Rep committee that was sending a team of staffers to gather facts later this month. I don't believe the embassy chose to include this communication for easy viewing on its website.

The bottom line is that there are 196 countries in the world, and in terms of the Nisman case, 195 of the matter absolutely squat. They are as important as one helium atom on the Sun.

@25. I think you'll find that DB is female. Of course, that's based on a comment it made once. Either it's female or a transexual.
@33. Be honest now, you can't actually read, can you? Just to give you a clue, the letter you referenced is written in diplomatese. But it's nice to see that the letter contains jokes. For instance, the first two sentences of the second paragraph. And Ronald Noble is by no means squeaky clean. You should check out what he got up to in connection with the Belarus metro bombing. What about “Argentina reiterates its unwavering quest for memory, truth and justice”. That sentence should have finished with the words “and our determination to eliminate them all”. And why is the crest on the letterhead that of two hands fighting over a slice of brown bread on a toasting fork?
@38. We can read thanks. We don't need some senile old git butting in with nothing useful.
@39. It's nice to see some light-hearted joking. 'Argentina is a sovereign country, living in democracy', 'Our judiciary system is far from perfect'. That should read 'Everything in our country is far from perfect'. And surely you should have said that you are in the prosecutor's office. Perhaps you killed him!
    @47. Hold your breath!
@54. Actually, it's 206. But don't let a little thing like facts get in the way. And I do wish argieland was like all the hydrogen in the Sun. Spontaneous ignition!

I think the most stunning thing coming out of all this is cfk's approval rating dropped ( yes dropped) to 39%. 2 out of 5 people approve of a murdering, classless thug for their leader. Nothing will change with the elections, because this president reflects what the people want. If i had kids and lived in arg i would flee to anywhere better haiti perhaps.

One other thing if in 21 yrs they cant 'solve ' the bombings , 21 yrs from now this murder will still be a mystery. Justice is swift except where there is no justice.

Wouldn't be that people are not so easily fooled by the opposition media that has already got ahead and declared the government guilty of killing Nisman?
Usually people were considered innocent till proven guilty, especially in a case that's anything but clear considering the telephone conversations of former intelligence czar Antonio ”Jaime” Stiuso with Nisman on the day prior to the prosecutor being found dead and the recent Stiuoso's reluctance to appear and testify. I know many will not want to be bothered with some facts getting on the way of their already comfortable position.

I reside in Buenos Aires, a wonderful city, full of flavors and shades of gray. Protests come and go but they don't seem to tip the scale very much. Take for instance December 2001, what has “really” changed since then?

Not much has changed. The mob still rules.

And so it all comes down to a silent struggle that awaits a cultural revolution. You can try banging pots and screaming bloody hell, but that won't get you far enough.

After 2001 corruption has recycled itself into Kirchnerism. The most you protest, the best they adapt. The peronist germ is deadlier than ebola.

    @Captain Poppy

And what happened to Argentina according with your Radical extended family of planters in BA?

    Ah! I remember now...

Raul Alfonsin (radical) one of the worst govt. in Argie history (after the presidency of another radical called De la Rua. Both have to left they govt for inept).

The radical govt. of Raul Alfonsin was forced to live the govt. because the country was in a complete mess.

Hyperinflation in 1989 was 12.000% at year.

Prices changed 3 times in the same day, by the end of the failed radical govt. the destruction of the industrial complex of Argentina was really catastrophic.

De la Rua another Radical where all the current opposition to the Kriss govt were part of the same govt. in the famous “La Alianza”.

    Some names to remember...
    De la Rua,
    Patricia Bullrich
    Lilita Carrio
    Margarita Stolbizer
    Cavallo
    Pino Solanas
    Graciela Meijide
    Ricardo López Murphy

The worse financial crisis and destruction of the economy in Argentina’s history.

Now lets see some irrefutable facts from history...

In 2001 after radical De La Rua total financial collapse GDP plunged from USD350 billion to 100 billions.

After the Duhalde govt. replacing failed De la Rua govt. nominal GDP was USD150 billions people had to use “Trueque clubs” to survive where they exchanged good and service like in the stone age using own printed currency Greece looks like a joke compared with this.

Independent states (provinces called in Argentina) had to print her own currencies so were full of currencies called Patacones, Lecops, etc.

    So lets see now...

    ARG GDP nominal USD611 billions

External debt reduced to 20% of nominal GDP
    Public debt: 44.8% of GD

Resuming only a stupid can say that the K govts were a bad thing for Argies.

And that is the reason why radical and oppo liars will never become a govt. in argie land for long time...

    Sorry...

Isn't it 'guilty because La Presidente says so'? When will the skank be entering prison for the rest of her useless life?
@74. You're funny. Note this everyone 'Hyperinflation in 1989 was 12.000% at year. Except that the record shows that inflation was at 380%. That's bad. But it was better than the 700% he inherited. You see, DB it's unfortunate that the FACTS can still be found. Wonder if you'd be prepared to comment, objectively, on the Ks honesty. The latest info is that argieland's GDP is $536.155 billion. So why not repay the debts? You're repaying the Paris Club. Why not repay the holdout bondholders? There is a reason. It's because, basically, CFK is a con-artist and crook. US 'vultures' are trying to destroy argieland. That's popular, isn't it? But THE TRUTH is that CFK is attempting to evade the law. The law that she CHOSE in order to con people into lending money. When are YOU going to live in argieland?

Look at this, people. 'Powerful nations can refuse to pay debts to thief if they don’t want to and get away with it.' There's the argie mentality. The difficulty is that argieland ISN'T a 'powerful country'. It's an ignorant, hedonistic, third-world disaster without a trace of honesty, morals or principles. It will end like other 30s style countries such as Germany, Italy and Japan.

People not being Peronist does not mean they are “Radicales”. This is what is wrong with you fascists, it's either white or black.

Besides, you would really need to review your facts. Alfonsin's gov't wasn't the worst. Hyperinflation was awful. But the peronist remedy to that was convertibility and ruthless and senseless privatization which ended up getting the peronist mafia richer and richer while people lost their jobs (unemployment of 22% ... remember that).

The convertibiliy bomb exploded in De La Rua's hands (who wasn't that bright and took the bait) when the one to really blame is Menem who had the chance and responsability of deactivating convertibility when there was still time.

And now the Ks are here to save us ...

I would have to disagree slightly.
The real problem with Convertibility was the fixed 1:1 ratio to the dollar. Adopting the US dollar directly would have caused more recession altogether since our GDP is largely based on commodities. There was shortage of dollars in 2000 and shortage of jobs. That was a pretty bad situation for adopting another currency because before making the dollar your official currency you do have to make sure that they will be flowing into the economy.

During the 2002-2005 period, that flow was being reestablished thanks to the 3:1 ratio and rising commodity prices. Then, just about the time things were starting to look promising again, the Ks blew it.

The problem with Argentina is not its lack of resources (I run the risk of stating the obvious) but a lack of a “saving” attitude (and the lack of prisons for the honesty deprived, of course).

    88. Extending a recession for a bit would have been worth it to right the economy for once and for all.
Argentinians can not manage an economy. They are not capable. Their solution is always to print more money, crash, rename the currency and start all over again.
You can not devalue currency and expect long term prosperity. Not one one in the history of fiat currencies has that ever worked. In fact you can use Argentina as the perfect example of how it hasn't worked many many many times.

You've got to get off that cycle and the only way to do it is to start using another currency so the gov't can't print their way out of current trouble.

Rgs are a special breed, they're lazy and expect something for nothing.

    88.
The main problem is not the currency rates, the problem is that Argentina since the creation of the Central Bank has being completely incapable of managing its financial policy. The Peso AND the BCRA need to be abolished. If you take away from Argentine politicians the ability to actually print money then you solve 80% of Argentines structural problems of the last 80 years.

Then you can adopt by law a basket of currencies for the economy say Chilean peso, US dollar, Euros, so you can get banks to lend at different rates according to other countries interests rates

. Although the average lifespan of an ATM machine is estimated to be between six and seven years Quantum Finanza estimates that because of the usage here this life span decreases by 30 to 40 percent. If Argentina were to have the average world usage ratio, it would only need to replace an estimated 2,800 ATM machines per year, or 15 percent of the current total. The country’s banks currently replace 4,000 per year.

Your point is valid. adopting the dollar was something that was being discussed as far back as '98. But also, by 2000 recession started to get catastrophic, I just remember one fellow offering to wash my car for a sandwich. And that trend was only getting worse. I was lucky enough to still have a job at the moment. But that wasn't the case with many of my friends. It was going to blow, and it certainly did a year later.

We've got pretty good economists. The cause of our poor economics is not lack of talent but our stupid political culture. And, of course, laziness might be a factor. But I wouldn't generalize the latter to everybody. In 2000 people without jobs would do anything to make some money, it just so happened that there was nothing to do because no one was paying.

There are a lot of lazy people here. Mostly those with a peronist mind set that think that once they get a job, they can keep milking the same cow for ever until they find out that all the cheese is gone. It isn't gone, it is just somewhere else, but they wouldn't go looking for it, they just “protest” until daddy welfare state comes back to the rescue.

the foolish woman can't define the difference between a domestic and global audience. She just shoots her mouth off randomly.
A sad indictment of Argentine society that she is even in power.

Meanwhile, in Vnzla, Mad-Burro Maduro, by decree, has just authorised the Army to fire live rounds at unarmed protestors 'if necessary'.

Will Krasstina follow on this path to hell?

PS: The virulent rumours in Vnzla are, that the 'rank and file' are deeply' uncomfortable about this and may refuse orders, or deliberately shoot too high.
Even with a 47% pay increase they seem reluctant to kill their own people. Maduro's popularity rating is down to below 20%, which is official and therefore massaged upwards,,,,
Hopefully this is the the beginning of the end.

I think that the government of Argentina should rethink their position on this. Nearly all American governments suffer from a lack of credibility which may be addressed by inter American cooperation in the various investigations. For instance there is now an Argentinian party down in Mexico investigating the murder of the 43 students.

    SEPOYS FOR EXPORT.
I would be hypocrite if i said that i was sorprised when i heard this news, but there are some issues that must be discussed.
I often hear many representants from the different opposition parties, who make a strong defence of the division of the different statal powers, and of the independece of justice, however none of those cretins has never said a word about the fact that nisman acted answering to the interests of the embassy from u. s. a. in buenos aires, in relation to the amia case, beside, they didn't say absolutly anything either, when it was informed about that intervention of u. s. a. respecting the investigation of nisman's death, what kind of republicanism and independence of justice are those?, in fact they accept it and support it, anyway if somebody calls them sepoys, they dare to feel offended.
I think the country must think whether it shouldn't start exporting sepoys, due to those cretins aren't in absolut usefull for the country.
Beside, when i see that some leaders from the opposition have entaills with a vulture like paul singer, then i think i can understand the circus created with that intervention.

The only thing multinational have done was to buy already existing argies brands.

Do you think the land, factories, and equipment, will just be gifted to ARGENTINA?

Who will replace the Automakers - you know, the ones that EXPORT to BRAZIL for Export Revenues????

    You are awfully naive, Dany.

    @Troy Tempest

If Unilever or P&G shut down their factories in Argentina, there are 330 argie factories that will be very glad to supply the market.

You have all brands even “Carlitos” and also products unbranded that you can buy directly from an argie factory and that fractionating them with your own brand you still sell them cheaper than any shit selling product from multinationals.

You have argie detergents hundred times better than any multi shit products.
With nanolina, sugar in it, and with taste of orange if you like too.

Bloody easy to do it, don’t believe me, ok try this, put your hands into car Engine Oil and Grease that it very, very difficult to get rid of it and then get your cheaper detergent from Unilever and mixed up with sugar .

Voilà! Your hands get f@cking cleaned without any rest of dirt. Lemon juice will improve the process.

And if you want your hands like a baby after the cleaning add some lanolina in it, will be better than the expensive cream that use your wife from multinational shit brand.

Try also this, do you have a serious problem with hard water in your area, your inox sink was badly affected by sediments that stick like rock in taps, sink, ceramic, etc.

Don’t worry mate you don’t need an expensive product from P&G that never works made with sulphuric acid that destroys everything, just use the cheaper vinegar that you can find in tesco or Wall mart from Mexico and cheap hot water from your tap.

You will see how the vinegar reverses ion polarity and sediments start to make bubbles and all gets clean.

Also try this, get a piece of meat from your fridge a let it to get smelly rotten tht even your do will eat it, the meat gets brown and the bacteria start to work and methane gas start to flow badly ugly.

Put it into vinegar with 3 drops of h. of sodium the meat and you will see the magic trick. Fresh meat again that you can eat it.

Who needs a multishit yank factory?

BTW what raw material are you talking about?

And these dufuses think and Arg company will swoop in and fill their vacated market, how? Its still unprofitable, they can't get the imported chemicals, they need time to develop the product, test it, get it approved, get it marketed, set up the distribution, etc etc etc

No need to import anything and no need to do nothing you are saying because already are companies producing and selling these stuff.

Back to Nisman, I now understand that you didn't mean to justify his death. However, you should have clearly stated that in your post to avoid any confusions.

I know Nisman was no saint, but he didn't deserve to be murdered and most of us in Argentina do not deserve to still be in the dark about what really happened. Striking again eh?

In a civilised country none goes to jail just for a media publication.

There is something called justice and you have to denounce the crime and provide some evidences for the bases of your complaint, etc.

And, and, and if a judge see that your compliant has a solid ground to start an investigation then start all the judicial process.

I know that you in the United States you have the habit to beat to death a black person on the streets, torture them and the cops get away with it.

But this is not the case in civilised countries like Argentina or in many others civilised countries in Europe.

So please before talking about civilised countries take into account that you have first to know one of them.

@ 130 Lunatic of Chew Butt

I really do hope that the argie investigators in Mexico have access to better equipment than the technique currently used to detect GSR which relies on superseded heavy metal elements in the primer.
”Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for the analysis of inorganic gunshot residues (IGSR) was introduced in 1974 by the Aerospace Corporation [1]. SEM coupled with wavelength- or energy-dispersive X-ray detection (WDX or EDX, resp.) has since been extensively applied to GSR analysis [2–8] and has become the internationally accepted analysis method. The use of SEM-EDX analysis is highly advantageous as characteristic elemental composition and morphology of GSR particles can be obtained using this non-destructive method [9]. The reliability of SEM techniques is based on the detection of lead (Pb), antimony (Sb), and barium (Ba) in discrete particles originating from the primer. Over the last 15 years, lead- and heavy metal-free ammunition has been increasingly commercialized to minimise the exposure of frequent shooters to dangerous airborne levels of lead and other toxic metals present in primers and other parts of the ammunition. As a consequence, there is a potential for false negative results when analysing GSR using SEM-EDX [10–13].” [http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/2014/965403/]

IF the 0.22rf lr cartridge used on Nisman used the IMI liquid primer technique as all European and US manufacturers do for the safety of their employees then there will NOT be the heavy metals available to detect.

That is probably why no GSR was found by the poorly equipped argie analytical team. Bit obvious really.

Then may be somebody forced Stiuso to maneuver in order to get Nisman to commit suicide.

All in all, I wouldn't dismiss any possibility, but I certainly rule out any fear of ridicule on Nisman's part. Even if he couldn't prove all of his accusations, he would have sticked around for a bit more enjoying the sh1t storm he caused.

Yes, I know of people that have killed themselves because they felt worhtless, victims of bullying, romantic issues.
But it is not likely that a narcissistic -as you state- person like Nisman would take his life in the eve of becoming even more renowned. Even if his accusation turned out to be a bluff, and that was reason enough to kill himself, he would have made it to Congress and fueled the controversy even further.

“La Negrada”, yes, of course I'm familiar with that expression. However, we might have different definitions for the same term. That's why I asked.

Tarquin, one of the characteristic of a suicide victim is that the person never shows any evidence that he will commit suicide. And that is the reason why is quite shocking for their relatives, friends, etc.

He could be a wealthy person, looping happy, even telling jokes every day, talking about what he will do next day and when none expect it he kills himself. That simple.

And none in the world can tell what was the reason for his act, you can only speculate and make hundred theories.
