    She sounds just like Nostrils.

Which just goes to prove how deeply engrained the brain washing in the Argentinean education system is.

Anyway, Cristina, tie your boat to the China ship. No one is actually stopping you.

However in 5 years time, China's workforce will be shrinking by nearly 10 million per year. We'll see how influential is remains when it is losing nearly 100 million workers per decade and its nonworking pensioner population skyrockets.

    Open your heads?!?!?!

What!?!? Is she advocating that people smash open their heads? Or has this lost something in translation and she actually means open your minds to new ideas and possibilities?

Whatever she means Argentina is going to lose, and lose big time. I reckon in less than 5 years time the usual trolls will be on here complaining about Chinese imperialism and how they're interfering in sovereign Argentine matters...such as repaying debt.

“China leads”, argued Cristina Fernandez' and Argentina follows.

”You cannot be so small-minded, colonized minds my dear friends,” fired the Argentine president...”

There, even their president now admits that Argentina has a colonial mindset. They are only about 200 years behind the rest of the world.

Colonised. Now there is a word Latam countries are going to be using a lot in the next few decades unless they are very careful. Africa is already heavily economically colonised by China; Latam is its next target. You will end up owning little of your own countries, and the workers on aid and investment projects will come from China.

The Chinese always take a very long term view. They are ably assisted by those whose view scarcely gets past next week.

I think they're heading into a recession that they won't come out of for a long time.

She's illegitimate and this shows the weakness china has in latin america. They don't have the ability to invade venezuela and argentina at the same time. Their tactic is a pyramid scheme of ghost malls to make pretend capitalism worked, ignoring the Chinese miracle needs this jewish bi+ch to control argentina and Maduro to keep his inept, corrupt system functioning. The biggest champions to the China story are Maduro and Cristina. Here we have a queen that hates the country she governs, her ministers laugh at the place and its future and a castro model that can't keep toilet paper available. @7. Where's the genius China has when they do deals with putin and CFK? All of their g20 friends in stagflation and scarcity. A win for China? I think more ideal would be these countries putting in place socialism that isn't breaking down as we speak., assasinating and invading.

I used to import a lot of stuff from China via Hong Kong....they would manufacture anything you like, but not great quality...I did it for years...but the prices kept rising until it reached a point where I realised I could get this crap elsewhere for the same price....
India for instance.....and so I did.....
I was not alone in this thinking....there was a huge exodus....

it is a totally asymmetric agreement, where the best part is, of course, for china.

these useless 4th class officers who are not even qualified to manage a students center, just signed an agreement to “solve” conjunctural issues with absolute improvisation.

argentina and some other countries of the region have what countries like china, india, japan, etc need the most: food, water, oil, etc.
but these imbeciles do not know how to play this carta de negociación, then there is a big loss of valor agregado in the products to be exported.

but what can you expect when the government is desperate for cash?
    eh?

There are simple answers to this woman. Just use an example. The scottish independence referendum. Fishface 1 (Salmond) campaigned vigorously. He wrote the 670-page booklet, 'Scotland's Future'. 'Scotland's Future' was demonstrably laughable. It depended on various 'assumptions'. That Scotland could immediately become a member of the EU, that there would be currency union with the UK, that there would be 'free movement' within the British Isles and, mostly, that Scotland would be incredibly wealthy because of gas and oil. These ideas were maintained while, step by step, they were ruled out. Scotland would have to undergo the usual several years of negotiation in order to join the EU, there would be no currency union because the UK wouldn't underwrite Scottish debt, there would be no 'free movement' because Scotland wouldn't be an EU member. Latterly, oil prices dropped 'through the floor' from $110 to less than $50 per barrel. Scotland's 'wealth' was shown to be illusory. Unfortunately for the loyal UK, Scotland voted 55.3% against independence. Able to maintain its skiving, subsidised status. There is a jokey thing that the scotch come out with. They say that they pay more into the UK Treasury than anyone else. What they don't mention is that has been so since around 1975. They don't mention the other 268 years. Neither do they mention the loan they were given in 1707, the likely interest and the lack of any repayment.

And so we see the similarities between scotland and argieland. There's the lies. The refusal to face reality. Living in la la land. The soporific effects of droning on for hours. Being dishonest. Come December, CFK will be dragged screaming and whining from office. Insisting on her continuing immunity. Gathering up her many millions from where she's stashed them. Leaving argieland for somewhere with a perfect climate and no extradition treaties. And a suitable palace. Fishface 1 left Fishface 2 (Sturgeon) to carry on. Who will Kirchner leave?

@16 Tel Aviv has a nice climate and hosted Timerman before. Sounds like an ideal place for CFK. She has a right to live there. Along with Dilma Rousseff. This speech is like the Chinese ghost apartments and malls. Farsical. People on 2 continents don't understand economic growth and what the long term means.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2SStFt-k_A In this video StevensonYang says China's reserves aren't liquid because they include their loans to Venezuela. Let's throw in Argentina....how can any of this be good for China? The protesters and growing opposition in these countries hate every development and “advancement” championed by the 21st century socialists....who hold onto power by a corrupt minority. They bought poor votes and generated a gigantic bust. Argentina and Brazil are being looted by their ruling parties...Putin is the same kleptocracy as he came in and toasted cfk with champagne in July. Since then? ruble crisis. Look at the bovespa. How does china have the power to own latin america when their cronies destroyed the continent? I guarantee you there's chinese businesses with millions of dollars not speaking spanish and not knowing the latin american reality. I know this because in Santiago there's also an ignorance to what is ahead from “financial analysts” ....Are people really that dumb...to not know what the next page is for the PT and Kirchner miracle? There's an opportunity. Brazilian stocks rallied during their joke election when the real value is toilet paper. Watch them try to raise taxes and deal with a massive recession...while Argentina is in the chaos that cristina wants. The chaos that cristina wants for Argentina, Chile, Brazil. Keep cheering on the china power story with maduro and cfk. I'll keep a short intact. Like I did for brazil, russia. There's an econ model screwing the chinese in latam and Putin toasts to it.

China is lending to countries that cannot get loans from other , better and cheaper rate sources,

so in a way, china becomes the worlds SHARK,
now we are all warned abt lending from loan sharks,

some of these south American countries will learn the hard way if they fail to pay on time,

first china may well use threats , harassment then send in some bully boys or enforcers,

then perhaps extortion , and finally removal of goods,

In the unlikely event of Mrs Sturgeon holding the balance of power after May, I very much doubt even “red Ed” would do a deal with the devil.

1.6m Scot Nats versus 35-40m Non Scot Nats in the UK electorate.

There may be a coalition between Labour and SNP in the unlikely event of that being necessary...but the anti-Scot Nat feeling it would bring would consign both to the dustbin for a generation.

It would also see the end of Cameron and bring Boris to Tory Leader.

Result...a massive Tory landslide in 2020...a proper boundary change with 600 evenly sized seats (why is Western Isles a seat in Parliament with 15,000 votes, equal to Isle of Wight with 100,000)?

It might be a prize worth paying.

    Unlikely though..

    I predict

    Tory 295
    Labour 265
    SNP 40
    DUP 8
    SF 4
    PC4
    LD 30
    Green 1
    UKIP 1
    SDLP 2

Probably a Tory minority government propped up by DUP and Lib dems promising no “no confidence votes”

    UKIP 1 ?

I think you better revise your estimates, UKIP are currently looking at taking 13 seats at the very minimum and libdems are never in a million years going to get 30 seats. I also think the gap between Labour and Conservative will be much narrower. I think you are right about Labour not doing a deal with SNP, that would be completely toxic to the UK as a whole.

The Conservatives have pissed many thousands of people off in the public sector and they won't get their vote as a result.

I predict a labour win, maybe with a coalition with what is left of the lib dems.

And despite all the protestations, who was Argentina going to tie itself to?

    The EU? LMFAO.

The UK? hahahaha... irrelevant little country (in the scheme of what we are talking about, irrelevant because they choose to be by isolating themselves from others)

The USA? Anyone notice how the USA actually manufactures NOTHING? Their current economic “miracle” (miracle a world I choose, no one in the real world has ever used it), is based on 0% rates fueling construction bubble from foreign buyers, NOT AMERICANS (look at NYC, Miami, etc), and a morphin intravenous overdose in the form of temporary cheap gasoline. It will all come to a disaster when oil soars again and people get tired of the devaluing dollar.

Argentina should tie up with both China, and India. And Russia. Temporarily. Then dump them all as we did the UK, EU, Spain, and Brazil/Mercosur.

We will see, UKIP 1 seat (Clacton) possibly 2 seats (Boston and Skegness), that's it.

What they will do is split the right wing vote in about 20-30 seats allowing Labour to win them, when the Tories could have...thus indirectly supporting the most pro-EU, pro-uncontrolled immigration party there is....a UKIP vote is totally counterproductive in all but a handful of seats.

Lib dems have strong support in certain seats (like SNP) their support is focused. They will keep Sheffield Hallam, Twickenham, Bath, Taunton, Orkney&shetland, Ross Skye and Lochnabar, southwark and Bermondsey etc etc. 20-30 seats.

We will see, but my prediction remains the same...UKIP 1 seat, but costs the Tories 20-50 in splitting the right wing vote and potentially hands 10 Downing Street to “Red Ed”, who hates Britain, Loves the Eu, Loves uncontrolled immigration....the very things UKIP profess to stand against.

If you believe Argentina's current trade partners and agreements, and debts included, are “shackling” Argentina, then you are really only changing your gaoler to those that have an even more different society and no cultural bonds or shared history with you.

The Western investors created urban infrastructure, communications, transport, and manufacturing, advanced agricultural systems for the time.
All used Argentine labour, and later the expertise of educated Argentines.

Will that happen with your new “investors”??

The Chinese typically trade infrastructure investment for commodities.
Those commodities will be extracted by Chinese labour. The infrastructure to remove those commodities and transport them, will be built by Chinese, not Argentines, and primarily for their purposes.

In return for their “investment”, cheap Chinese goods will be imported, undermining your domestic manufacturers.

And what happens when commodities are depleted, or you can't meet your financial obligations to China??

    Kristina has you all fooled.

For too long, the U.S. ruled most of Latin America through their local associates. Hardly a soul cried foul. Now that Argentina freely conclude agreements with “another country” suddenly we hear a chorus of anti-Chinese imperialists.
    Go figure.

Come on Enrique....are you that old to live in the past like that? They don't need a coup to control Argentina. Though they may never get that opportunity anyway as China continues to slide in various sectors to 24 years lows in some indices.

Enrique, the next time I visit Argentina would you like for me to bring you back some mate'? Personally I think it tastes like piss an RG tea......but a lot of RG's like it. Can you get some in Calgary? Say hi to you very “close” amigo...“El Think”.

May Canada continue to be you salvation from the destructive forces in Argentina.

We seem to be distracted away from the issues.

Argentina has not “concluded ” anything.

CFK has chosen out of desperation to sell out Argentina with one-sided deals with China, at userous terms.

CFK apologists, if they acknowledge that at all, would say she was 'driven' to do so, as she had 'no alternative' for investment capital.

This is the very crux of the matter. CFK chooses not to honour the debts Argentina owes to Western Bondholders and other investors.
Argentine practices of seizing companies like Repsol and others, on the pretext that they were 'profiting unfairly' from the Argentine people - has driven away investment.
Argentina has created this situation herself.
After being burned before, western companies realise it is a very risky and unstable climate for investing further money. If future bondholders were liable to risk another “Argentine Haircut” of 70% to the value of their bonds, do you think they'll buy??
YOU, yourself have stated that CFK is doing the right thing by not paying back Argentine debts. though they have the $$ to do it - you felt she was doing 'what was best for Argentina'.

With that precedent, none of the traditional investors are likely to trade with or invest in, Argentina - who can blame them??

Argentina had a choice - honour agreements, pay debts, act honourably, OR abandon your commitments and somewhere else for investment, on their terms.

That seems to be the path they have taken.
However, the terms are dictated by China. CFK will live in the moment and reap benefit from the agreement, but she won't be around when the terms of the agreement start to take effect.

It is fair comment for creditors and unpaid bondholders to criticise how they were treated. It is also fair to point the repercussions to this alternative course of action.

    Sure Enrique, “ Christina rocks!”

I am still waiting for the assassin who will 'open' TMBOA head to appear.

The nearer the time she is due to go the more likely it will be, or do you think her associates are going to let her go, knowing what she does?

    Not likely at all.

She is already sowing seeds of fear within the electorate, and those of the current opposition who would attempt to succeed her.

My expectation is that she'll contrive to place Maximo on the the throne to extend the K dynasty. Barring that, a K cronie will take the position.

    Sad really

It's a foregone conclusion that Argentina has long been lost as is most of South America. American and many European businesses lost interest in SA because of the cost of socialism as the Bolivarian regimes run them combined with lower costs of doing business closer to home...and directly home.

Face it, now it's China's turn, only China is not going to be repeating the last 25 years because because it was built on an influx of western businesses influx into China. Now these same western businesses are leaving China as well. The Western world happily and readily turns over the ME to China as they assume their support of SA for their resources. China is not as stupid as they appear and fully understand the economics they are transitioning to with the western world leaving. This is the primary reason they, China that is is preying on the likes of Africa, the ME and now SA.

Adios amigos.......it will get ugly with China as the 2015 forecast that once was over 8% became 7.5%....now 7%......and in a month of so 6.75%. China's future is far from rosy, which means SA is going to be a nightmare for the populace.

    Good luck and good night.

I read in the DT finance section that China have announced a 5.5% reduction to GDP, some FIVE times more than the UK when that was considered real hardship.

    Oh dear.

Usually I read several sources of different orientation to have a good sense of what's going on in Argentina, so I thought I had an overall view of what's going on.
Then, the insistence of some here about the imminent demise of my home country piqued my curiosity, so I went to look for foreign views.
For example, this is what Focus Economics say in one article:
    http://www.focus-economics.com/countries/argentina

”The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index inched up from 50.0 in January to 50.5 in February and now rests just above the threshold separating optimistic from (pessimistic) sentiment. February’s reading marked the highest consumer sentiment level since October 2013.“

Perhaps they do not know a thing because they don't live there. To be fair to other posters here, I did find and duly noted a warning about the current situation and the increasing dependency from China:

”Argentina’s economy continues to struggle; recent data point to another drop in economic activity in Q4 following the contraction recorded in Q3. Monthly economic activity was weak in October and November and industrial production and exports fell again in December.
“Argentina is becoming increasingly dependent upon China; on top of the currency swap, the countries signed a series of investment projects and trade agreements in Beijing in early February.”

    Still no catastrophe in sight.

My wife's family will disagree with you how bad inflation is and how scarce mant things are in Argentina. My last trip in June/July....there were many empty shops and bare shelves on the stores. Real estate is not selling, more and more people are unemployed, construction cranes did not move for the several weeks I was there. China can't keep bailing Argentina out because they themselves are slipping because American businesses are deserting China and either coming home or finding my competitive locations with less lead, poisons and junk in their products.

You should experience live in modern Argentina some time. I've always said Enrique, I like Argentina and have enjoyed the people and friends I've come to know over the years going there, but I also feel for them as well because they are working middle class, the ones kirchnerite's hate and taking to task.
