OAS deploys electoral observation mission for Guyana Sunday's election

The Organization of American States has started the deployment of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States to the general and regional elections scheduled iin Guyana for Sunday May 11. This is the fifth time the OAS has observed elections in Guyana, following Missions in 1997, 2001, 2006 and 2011. Read full article

    Seeing as they could not bother to send people to the referendum in the Falkland's, [ I presume they did not ]

    and considering apparently this is the 5th time they have sent people to Guyana

    it just seems a waste of time , money and effort,
    just my opinion.

    Why is argieland amongst the observers? Argieland wouldn't recognise a free and fair election if it stood up and poked it in the eye. I realise that the OAS has limitations, but it could have asked for observers from proper democratic countries.

    The Foreign Ministers of SA are a weird bunch: Gollum, The Argie Rent Boy Almagro now safely packed off to be General Secretary of some tin-pot organisation and this behemoth: Lisa Shoman.

    They must really be expecting the usual LatAm FUBAR.

    They are probably correct.
