Why did the CTA delegates leave with the perpetrator, it looks like they are firmly behind him. Would have been better for the delegates to issue a statement firmly abhoring his behaviour, not condoning it. Is this typical of Argentine behaviour?

    How low can you get?
Doesn't he care that he has really let Argentina's side down?
Or is it normal behaviour for Argentines abroad?
lf l were Cristina, l would have him shot for embarrassing his country in front of foreigners.
Or maybe exiled to Antarctica to work as a toilet cleaner in Argentina's base there. lol!

A bit of irony for those denying a strong southern-Italian influence in the Argentinian notional character: Guillermo Pacagnini, member of the Argentine Workers Socialist Movement, mentions in his bio that his family originally emigrated from Calabria.

Yes, 5 Elaine B, we all laughed out loud, but bitterly and ironically.

AND YES, 6 Isolde, it is normal that Argentines are so bereft of scruples and so inured to shame that this is, indeed, normal behavior--as much in Argentina as abroad.

@45 I think there has always been an idea that some identities are held by the same person and that different people use the same log-in. Just look at Brasileiro's post - there range from reasonably coherent English to absolute nonsense.

What the poster can't hide is their inherent character flaws. They always emerge, especially when they are losing an argument or get angry. The poster also uses some identical idioms that really wouldn't be used by South Americans. All that said, it really says more about their messed-up behaviour than anyone else's.

Rather than worry about who is behind it I concentrate on the content of the message. I will say this, whoever it is has an unhealthy interest in obtaining personal information to twist and use as insults. They have zero interest in debating the news items here but crave attention. It is all about their ego. It is probably worth remembering that when responding.

I have been called everything from a petulant teenager to having one foot in the grave - let it slide.

    50 PaulCedron:

    PRIDE BEFORE A FALL
You Argentines never get the point: You're unable to say “You're right!”

“You're right, our behavior is despicable,” (If you weren't so arrogant, we would then understand if you went on to politely murmur, “However, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.” But no . . . no humbleness in sight.

(You Argentines cannot seem to understand that all this bitter derisiveness toward you is not vilification; you do that to yourselves. Our comments are because you're so ARROGANT, on top of having no cause for pride, not the faintest of bases to even privately think you're superior, let alone publicly look down your noses at everybody else.)

Civilized societies decry bad behavior, arrest, prosecute and punish evil doers. Not Argentina. Argentines themselves have for decades cried in frustration about the IMPUNITY of the privileged and powerful, at the same time slyly congratulating themselves for getting away with having taken advantage of a colleague, a friend, a sister, brother or their own mother.

    You're a disgusting society.

Not most Argentinians are kleptomaniacs, but there are many...especially Porteños. All the Peronist politicians are thieves.

The mix of Italians predominately from the south with the Spaniards and mestizos in Argentina created a their infamous “Viveza criolla” mentality. Chile and Uruguay have some similar traits, but fortunately far less.
