Thank God my country is getting out of auto manufacturing. We can't compete with cheaper labour in other countries.

After the initial economic dislocation the labour market and economy will recover. But thankfully my tax dollars aren't being wasted any longer.

The downturn in the auto industry in Brazil will bounce back but this recession is starting to really bite. These job losses and drop in consumer spending will continue to reverberate. Brazil isn't anywhere near turning the corner.

    1. This industry generates many jobs, new technologies and taxes. Australia has no automotive industry because their market is insignificant and his country is diverted from major trade routes. You're the only guy I know who is proud of what does not exist.

    2. Soon the branches of GM and Ford will be bought by Brazilian business, this is the only way to survive in this business here in Brazil. In view of the overall administrative and technological incompetence of North Americans.
I think the polluted water that you are forced to drink has affected your brain. And you should thank God that still has some drop of water, even though sewage.

As public sector workers face cuts in benefits and salaries, they are striking all across the nation. Police have met these protests with violence — in the southern state of Paraná, cops unleashed tear gas and rubber bullets on a teachers' protest and injured more than 200 people — sparking more outrage and more protests. Brazil may be reaching its boiling point. “When families go to the supermarket, they can't fill up their carts like they used to with the same amount of money,” Brazilian pollster Mauro Paulino told the Financial Times (U.K.). “And the news is all about corruption. They're short of money and at the same time they are being told they have been robbed.”

    What an idiot!

So, lets imagine somebody as stupid as you BUT with money buys Ford and GM, ha, ha, ha. What happens next, where are the parts going to come from, but most of all WHO IS GOING TO BUY WHATEVER SHIT THIS IDIOT MAKES?

The people who have money are NOT spending it you twat, and why is that: because the Chief Crook Lula has stolen it!

AND, where did Brazil learn auto-assembly from? The US and Europe: see how far you go without them.

    4. This text looks more like a comedy. I see no trace of reality in the article. Maybe that's why we Brazilians do not trust the North-Americans.

Soon we will be using technology to intercontinental ballistic rockets from Russia. Now that's cutting-edge technology!

@6. I don't know whether you've noticed but this article is about the failing Brazilian automobile industry. And exactly how are you going to use Russian ICBM technology for that? A nuclear warhead on the bonnet? A rocket engine in the boot? You might notice that Russian ICBMs don't carry passengers.

But maybe you're hoping that some Russian will leave a brain cell you can use. Here is the mathematical expression to define the installation of a Russian brain cell into a Brazilian. 0 + 1 = 0.5. The explanation for this is that a Russian brain cell is degraded when it bounces around inside an empty Brazilian skull. Provably, Brazilian skulls are empty. The skull is where the brain is supposed to be kept. For 'people', the brain is what guides the voting process. Look what Brazilians vote for. Smiley faces with zero honesty and total incompetence.

    Spot on!

My great-grandfather and great-Grandmother both emigrated from Scotland and over half of my ancestry is from the British Islands. Anyone like yourself who's actually lived in Argentina, Chile or Uruguay can attest to the large percentage of well educated English speaking inhabitants.

Even THINK ran me through an identity background check three or four years ago. Let the troll consult the the authentic THINK for his opinion.

Besides 600 thousand Chile-Italians (From predominately northern-Italian regions) my country has also has over 700 thousand Chile-British and Irish heritage residents. As I've posted for many years at Mercopress, I was educated at the British Grange in Santiago and converted to using North American English in the mid-80s. I briefly studied at the BRNC and received extensive reserve training at Bedford.

José is absolutely right on the mark that I like very much almost everything about the British Islands, greatly admire Baroness Thatcher and adore her Majesty the Queen.

As most Chileans, many of us have Argentinian friends, but also have disdain for their politics and the “Viveza Criolla” mentality. As you well know, 1978 still remains in the memory of my generation.

The idiot yesterday ignorantly argued to Elaine and I that Italian food was not that popular in Argentina because Pizza Hut did not have much of a presence.

Thats pretty convincing evidence from Voice.

Why does he hate Falklanders, my guess he was in tbe Scots Guards in the battle of Mount Tumbledown in the 1982 Falklands War. He saw some of his mates killed and was then treated badly by islanders. For that reason he would like to see them subjugated by the Argies.

As for hating Yanks, Holy Loch was once the base for US submarines. A loaded and nicer Yank screwed his Mrs and they ran off together.

Its all about grudges and the anger is there in every post.

Dunoon is a pretty damp miserable place. I would be pissed off if I were stuck there as Billy no mates.

He thinks Think is a pretty good troll thats why they have a love in.

Consumer buying fueled by debt and now they can't pay it back.

let's see if I were a marxist what would I do...I'd declare the debt invalid and wipe it out.
Or I'd inflate the currency so that its easier to pay back

    52. Negotiations between the BRICS are well advanced. But, of course, there are many rumors about the details. One is out of Brazil and Argentina of the Treaty of Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and that Russia and China would veto any sanction to these two countries in the UN Security Council.

Another is the extent of coverage of the military pact that could include UNASUR and the African Union of Nations, or at least part of it.

A group of eight Brazilian senators on a visit to Venezuela to meet a jailed opposition leader say they had to flee after their bus was attacked.
The Brazilian opposition politicians were trying to meet Leopoldo Lopez, who is in jail accused of inciting violence during protests.
The group said the bus was stoned as it travelled from Caracas airport.
Brazil's foreign ministry says it will seek an explanation from the Venezuelan government.
One of the senators, Ronaldo Caiado, tweeted: “Our bus was under siege; they were beating and trying to break it. I filmed them throwing stones against the bus.”
Another, former presidential candidate Aecio Neves, said: “We are here to defend democracy and until now the Venezuelan government has shown little appreciation of it.”
